Robert Lindsay: Ketchum DNA paper should publish from August 21 – September 4, 2012 (Update: Ketchum responds)

Robert Lindsay has been wrong many times before and he could also be wrong about this latest publication date for Ketchum's Bigfoot DNA Paper. Lindsay recently posted a couple of interesting tidbits for us to chew on while we wait for the elusive paper that's slated for publication sometime between August and September of this year.

Correction: Actual relict hominid type of the Bigfoots may not be known. In a previous post, I said that the Dr. Melba Ketchum team knew precisely which relict hominid the Bigfoots are. Upon talking further with my source, I have determined that they were mistaken and were reading things into what they heard.

The corrected story is that MtDNA side of the Bigfoots is Homo sapiens sapiens, or human. However, the Ketchum team has determined that the nuclear side is some sort of what I would call an ancient relict hominid, much more primitive than we are. Whether they have determined precisely which one or not, assuming the Bigfoots are known in the scientific record at all, is not known.

Is Bigfoot Homo Heidelbergensis? Upon conversation with a source, he said that people on the Ketchum team “did not disagree” when the source told them he thought Bigfoots were Heidelbergensis. That means the Ketchum team “did not disagree” with the Heidelbergensis theory. The source also said that his own preliminary DNA studies have revealed that Bigfoots are a mix of various hominids, including modern humans, Neandertals and Denisovans.

The source feels that “the base” of the Bigfoots is Heidelbergensis, but we lack Heidelbergensis DNA, so there is no way to prove that by DNA. However, if the Ketchum team has a body or part of a body, especially a skull, then they could make a Heidelbergensis determination on that basis. If they only have the baby, this will be much harder to do because it is hard to match up baby relict hominids with the adults of the species because they are often so different.

Another source told me that he has seen what he feels are skeletons of Bigfoots on museums and private collections, and he feels that they look most like the Heidelbergensis skeletons he has observed. When asked for more details on these purported museum and private Bigfoot skeleton collections, he could not tell me anymore.

Ketchum DNA paper may be at Nature group. I have sources who know which journal the paper is at, but they will not tell me, so I have to guess. Asking around a bit, I would say that Nature is a pretty good guess, but I can’t confirm that in any way.

But let’s put it like this. Is there a “Nature group” of journals, that is journals are that affiliated with Nature but not Nature itself? If so, I would say to look there. I would also look at journals associated with the journal Science, say a Science group if it exists.

Ketchum DNA paper should publish from August 21 – September 4, 2012. If it passed peer review on July 10, 2012, which is possible, then I know for a fact that the publishing time at the journal this paper is at is 6-8 weeks after passing peer review. Figuring 6-8 weeks past July 10, I arrive at this date.

[Update: Dr. Melba Ketchum responds to article on Facebook]

The manuscript is NOT at the Nature Group! How many times do I have to say this? There is no pub date yet! Those pics are not real either, it looks like the hair is mounted on something fake (or tanned) and it really looks more like tanned coyote hide. The morphology is wrong for BF hair. Talk about grasping at straws. I wish people would stop bombarding me with emails every time all this fiction gets posted but that is all it is, fiction. Geez.... Ok, now that I have responded this time, this is the last post I am going to comment on the subject of this blog....and I am not going to waste my time answering any emails on it either. Just know, whatever that blog says as it pertains to ANYTHING we are doing or know, it is NOT true and I will not address this again. There are no leaks from our group and NOBODY, even the submitters, know anything at this time as the dynamics of the study have radically changed. I have way too much to do to than to answer a lot of emails. I don't want to be rude and not answer so I am posting this as an answer to all. Please do not expect anything further until the paper is released. Thanks everyone and I appreciate the support.

  7. I have confirmation from one who saw the Smeja photos from the source that these are the authentic photos. This is the sample from which Ketchum supposedly received a piece. Assuming this is true, while Ketchum is claiming these are fake, HOW could she confirm it as Bigfoot flesh? All the good information (not just Lindsay) has declared that Ketchum tested Smeja's sample and it became central to her study. Apparently Wally paid for multiple tests which provided confirmation. Has he been lied to, and has Ketchum abandoned the Sierra sample? This is all too weird, and positively reeks of bullshit. The sample looks like weathered old bear hide and fur to me, too.

    1. Smells of BS alright, I'm almost certain it is. The only thing interesting about Ketchum-Smeja now is what the "endgame" is supposed to be, what's the point of all this?

    2. Ketchum has no connection with Smeja and confirmed to me that the "BF Steak" is totally bogus. The Smeja BF steak isn't and never was a part of her study.

    5. If he killed a baby bigfoot, etc. she may have not wanted to be linked to it. We will see. Either this paper will emerge, or years will pass and we'll know it was either not worthy of being published or repressed by the powers that be. If something ever comes of it, we will know, but the speculation is rather pointless.

  8. It seems to me most of the few times Dr Ketchum responds to anything on here is when Mr Lindsay posts his most recent guess or rumor from his sources. I wonder why she feels it necessary to shoot down his posts, but not others so much. I wonder if he is causing the delay in the report being published because the publisher or Dr Ketchum does not want him to be correct on it.

    1. Good point, that is a sort of confirmation in itself that it's all good or at least that the study's there and coming.

      Delete
    2. In that case the best thing to do would be let him spin his wheels wondering while she prepares the scientific paper in silence. Responding is just silly, and only gets her in worse trouble with certain people who want her to fail.

  9. Im really interested in all this, but only because im interested in the mechanics of complex and larger scale hoaxes. I to am wondering HOW the hoax itself will be perpetrated. Im wondering if melba is IN on the hoax, or the victim of a hoax. There will be no paper published in a reputable journal. Ketchum also says that things drastically changed, meaning she did NOT find "bf" but mightve found some odd dna in the native indian hair, and is desperately trying to find a BF connection. I think she is more hoaxee than hoaxer.

Im following this saga to find out who the real hoaxers are, whos getting hoaxed, and to what end. Fascinating stuff!!! Bigfooters and their religion of footing is SO much like other cults, its interesting!!!

Keep it up guys! Its great fun!

    1. IMO he's trying to force her hand. By publishing leaks (if they really are legit) he exposes the inner workings of her project, and that puts pressure on her to respond. Which she did. I believe he's trying to force her to either publish immediately or admit the whole thing is fake.

    3. He is probably one of the perpetrators of the hoax in my opinion, so stuff like this keeps the stove hot, otherwise people would probably have forgotten about it by now. Negative press is still press. Bleevers are gullible and if they hear about a bigfoot story enough, no matter how fake or evidence lacking, it will eventually weave itself into the fabric of footery, and will become "fact".
Just my educated, experienced and researched opinion.

  14. RL needs to just STFU with his updates, he's been wrong gods knows how many times on the publishing dates and his sources smell of BS.

Isn't this like the 4th time this lady has said she'll no longer respond to rumors? I don't think that paper will ever get published hell I don't think it even exists, but if it does for the sake of her "research" she should just lay low.

If she didn't want to seem rude then she should have kept quiet on the subject after she announced she was working on her paper. How do you expect people not to ask questions when you're posting pics of stick structures and talking about encounters with families of bigfoot.

Also why post stuff related to a research paper on facebook that's a bit unprofessional, stick to posting about trips to the beach and crap like that on the book of face. I doubt the oxford group that's working on that other paper is posting anything about their work on a social site. They did it the right way they announced it then kept quiet.

  17. When will you people learn that Lindsay is full of shit? Also, H. hiedelbergensis did not have a foot with a mid-tarsel break or flexible foot. Neither did any known species of the genus Homo. The only hominids that fit any of the known evidence (footprints, images, eyewitness descriptions) are not of the Homo genus. Look to Australopithicus.

  19. Mid-tarsel break. LMFAO! Meldrum pulled that out of his ass without having any evidence. None! He also rode the gravy train with Derek Randles regarding the Skookum cast in which they knew was found a day prior. They then staged the expedition and apple story . Total farce.

    1. Yep, true story. And they brought in 250lbs of plaster with them because they knew the Elk lay was there. They didn't send for it after they found it. No Bigfoot prints around but plenty of elk prints. Wasted motion when the Sasquatch supposedly grabbed the apples. None of it makes sense. Elk lay, the end.

    2. Everybody in lore knows that story, why did they have sooooo much plaster with them.....

    3. It was Rick Noll who showed up with a shipload of plaster. He and Derek Randles fought like alley cats over that ass cast. Both are hoaxers. Meldrum is no better. He knew it was an elk lay and went along for the glory of being the go to guy. He also made up the mid-tarsal break, that's his "invention" it ain't fact. He never dissected a squatch foot, never x-rayed a foot either yet makes these preposterous statements like they were bleeping fact. Randles, Noll and Meldrum - worst persons in the search.
