Person Who Filmed 'Bigfoot' Sighting In Idaho Says It Definitely Wasn't A Bear

A video was uploaded to YouTube last week purportedly showing a "Bigfoot" walking into the trees across a canyon. At first glance they thought it was a person, but after looking at it for a while, the uploader, Lukeking327 said "it looked more and more not human".

Earlier this morning, an anonymous poster left a comment claiming to be the person who filmed the video:

I am the person who filmed this video, I was searching the video on google to see what came up and found this. I am not a Bigfoot researcher or anything, I don't even have an opinion on Bigfoot. To respond to some comments and hopefully answer some questions, we initially saw the figure from a different angle where it was a little easier to see. The way it walked and how easily it traversed through the deep snow seemed somewhat unorthodox. I got my camera (which I was using for other things, not searching for Bigfoot) out of my jacket and filmed until it went out of sight, thinking this could possibly be a Bigfoot. How did I zoom in on it? Most video cameras have view finders, and I use this camera quite often and I know how to point and shoot, its simply not that difficult when you're in a fairly open area. Also, its a 4 or 5 year old camera, sorry I didn't have an expensive hd quality camera. And, we did go up there to look for tracks. It was extremely steep down the canyon and up the other side, not to mention the 2 feet of snow covering the ground. We did find tracks. Not being a Bigfoot researcher I didn't think to video the tracks. But I am a hunter and know any track out there, and this seemed legit. If it was somebody up there performing a hoax, they went to new extremes to try and fool somebody else. It took us about an hour to get to where we saw it, and we're in shape people and it had us huffing and puffing. I don't know what it was, but it seems very unlikely to have been a human. And it definitely was not a bear. I hunt bears, know what to look for in a bear, and it's arms were way too long in proportion to its body to be a bear

  1. This again?... Well, at least it's not the Hovey pic...

  2. It is a reminder that most people are still discovering Bigfoot for the first time.
The naysayers here are another reminder of the knowledge that seperates witnesses from everyone else.
Bigfoot skeptics are like kids being shown arithmatic; if they keep learning thay can move on to calculus one day. But, many announce that they don't need math for the real world and never even learn algebra.
    It's a choice to learn.

    1. So it's not learning if we don't reach the same conclusion?

      Delete
    2. How can you reach any conclusion at this point? you need to prove it a hoax (or real) and you haven't to yourself or anyone else.

In the meantime, keep an open yet questioning mind to all possibilities, and always seek the truth, that is how one LEARNS.

  3. I think my biggest issue with this video is a very logical one--why did this person film from so far away and then zoom in on exactly the spot where something would show up? You can barely see it zoomed in, there's no way he saw this from that distance and zoomed in on it. It's like he knew where it would be happening. If we look at the flood of supposed BF videos out now compared to how many there were, say, 5 years ago--we have to be skeptical in general.

    1. The guy said "we initially saw the figure from a different angle where it was a little easier to see." so i think by the time he got his camera out and filmed this it was already going into the brush.

  4. Sightings can/will be shared with the growth of social media, portable recording devices (often on phones), etc. Something to keep in mind is that many, smaller, personal recording devices begin at a vast wide angle lens perspective, and are often barely able to zoom in to what we would deem "eye sight" equal viewing. Though I'm making this point, it is also important to maintain a structured filter of skepticism. That being said, this particular "witness" could have heard/seen something above, and finally got the recording device out to try and record (if possible) what might be up there. We should try to put things into perspective and not just simply lump into predetermined labels. Perhaps this was a hoax; perhaps this was a lucky recording of something we don't have enough evidence to label with 100% accuracy.

  5. So you saw something that freaked you out enough (that wasn't normal) to hike over and look for tracks.
    you found tracks.
    you DIDN'T film tracks.

You have to understand that that in itself, seems very illogical / unlikely.

    1. Why does it seem illogical and unlikely? As he says, he has no opinion on bigfoot. So chances are he's not familiar with the "bigfoot community", and didn't realize when he was filming that his video was going to be picked apart by most of it.

    2. Dude, he states in the paragraph above that
"I got my camera out and filmed until it went out of sight, THINKING IT COULD BE A BIGFOOT."

      Then they hiked over and saw them, but then he states above;

"I didn't think to video them."

After hiking an hour and a half????

Hey, it could be a good video, I'm the one always screaming to hold to the open mind,
and know that people get really Screwed-up THINKING while having a sighting.

But geez, thats a tuff one to buy!

  6. I asked lukeking a couple of days ago to explain what was going on on his you tube channel. People were already calling it a hoax on his site, with no proof of such. One can not say with what was filmed whether it is one of not, just that plain and simple. If what he writes about the events is accurate, and I have no reason for now not to believe him, then this is probably a bigfoot. Just calling it a hoax with what limited info. we know is highly unprofessional.

  7. To you who shot the video.

Sir could you please elaborate on what you found.

    # of tracks?
    length of track?
    width of track?
    length of stride?
were toes visible in the prints.
was there anything else odd about the tracks?
How close to any roads / quad accessible? snowmobile accessable?

I'm thinking that any hunter, who is into tracking would deffinitely have made a note of this stuff, I mean you were currious enough to make the hike.

Help us out here Sir, All we can do here is summerize and use A little deductive reasoning and some more info will tell us alot!

  8. With all of the fake bigfoot clips being made, this adds nothing to the bigfoot mystery.

Some people will make a bigfoot out of everything, and other (skeptics) will dismiss them all as being hoaxed. With all of the hoaxing going on, the skeptics do have a valid reason for dismissing bigfoot footage.

As others have written on this site, the only thing that will PROVE the existence of bigfoot is a specimen. That's it. End of story. The only people who you will convince with clips, prints, thermal imaging, etc. are those who already believe that bigfoot exists.

  9. Looking at the zoomed still, you notice those big faces in the tress too? Big eyes, open mouth, etc. lol

  10. I am the person who filmed this video. Again, I am not someone who searches Bigfoot, when I went to look for tracks, I was trying to figure out what I saw. I wasn't going up there thinking this will get me famous, I wasn't going up there to get an answer for anybody else, but an answer for me. Im not saying this is or isnt a bigfoot, but there is a possibility. Also again, I zoomed in on the subject accurately because I know how to use a video camera. There were distinguished features on the hillside that allowed me to find the area I needed to zoom in on. The camera somewhat distorts the distance, while it was a fair distance away from us, its not as far as it looks in the video. When you can see the picture in the cameras view finder, it is not that difficult to find what you're looking for. And in this case, I was looking for the area I anticipated the subject to walk into as I had watched it walk along the ridge. There is a 4 wheeler trail in the bottom of that canyon, but there was no recent activity on the trail, and if there would have been someone coming up the trail on a 4 wheeler/snowmobile, we would have heard them. There is the possibility of someone walking up the trail and performing a hoax, but again, if somebody hoaxed us, they performed an extreme, elaborate, dangerous task. Specifics of the track: roughly the length of my forearm (13-14 inches). 5.5 to 6.5 inches wide. The stride was considerably longer than mine, im 6'1". Toes were visible in some tracks. Some of the tracks didn't fall completely through the hard packed snow, and you could see the outline of the track. There was a continuous line of tracks leading into the timber where it went out if sight in the video.

    1. To the skeptics you can go over and over this again, but to them it is still a bear or hoax. I thank you for showing what you saw, and whether it is or isnt a bigfoot won't be found from this video, but it is a great video in the same. Thank you again, cause some of these people here will chew you up and spit you out if you let them.

    2. I am an avid backpacker and I've hiked through mountainous terrain all over western WA, OR, and CA as well as parts of central Idaho (~Nezperce NF) as soon as I saw the terrain and conditions, I knew it wasn't a hoax. Hoaxers are too lazy to traverse that terrain in snow.

I pointed out that the quality of the film made it difficult to identify the animal and with no additional info from the poster (I did check your channel), I made up an animal to mirror my frustration. No one has given me a convincing argument why our forests can't support a large primate so I have an open mind. Many animals have stealth. Not being seen or captured <> does not exist; the fact that we still continue to find "undiscovered" animals and animals thought to be extinct proves this. But being human means being arrogant and all-knowing. Until the Orcas decide to fight back and build bombs then we are all SOL. :)

But you've stepped forward and filled in much of the detail I felt was missing. I believe you. I was a hunter many moons ago; if you are used to hunting bear then you know damn well what a bear looks like, especially if you 1st saw it in the open against the snow. I had an encounter 25 years ago but I have no video, no proof, and so I can't call it anything but inconclusive (damn science guy in me). Like you, then I never thought about Bigfoot and the encounter was in PA; all the media in the '70s showed it to live on the West coast so it never dawned on me that one could be in Pennsylvania. I was asked why I didn't stop to try to find out 'for sure' what it was. Well, at the time, I felt I was in danger of being killed (I was in a Honda CRX - a tiny 2-seater); it was dark, late, on an isolated road, and I was terrified. I like breathing.

At least you have some video proof of your experience. But for casual outsiders, it's not very good proof. Unfortunately for you too because you are going to get a lot of folk hatin' on you. Everyone who calls you a hoaxer - screw em. You had the encounter, you know the truth. You don't need anyone's seal of approval - not here nor on BoobTube. I believe that science will eventually "discover" this animal (like the Bili Ape all of 6 years ago!!). Hang tight til then. Sorry I poked fun to make a point. Humans do that, but good humans try to learn from their mistakes.

  11. I really appreciate the information you have provided. You seem to be an honest person. My bigfoot meter on this has gone from a possibility to a probability.

  12. We just need to cut the filmer of this video some slack obviously he has never had any past experience like this, and he is not really even claiming its bigfoot beside from the title of the video (which he probably named bigfoot sighting for the sole purpose of getting views). Also, if you saw something walk into a certain area its not hard to zoom in on that particular area unless your technologically retarded.
