The Snow Walker Bigfoot Hoax Video

The Snow Walker video footage was thought to be the most compelling evidence of Bigfoot since the Patterson Film. Researchers vouched for it and the Bigfoot research community was mesmerized. The footage was released in 1996 by Paramount's UPN TV show, Paranormal Borderland. The purported Yeti was filmed by a couple while hiking in the Himalayas in 1992. As it turned out, none of it was true.

The film fooled three prominent Bigfoot researchers including Dr. Jeff Meldrum, Dmitri Bayanov, and Igor Bourstev. On March 12, 1996, Dr. Jeff Meldrum was quoted on UPN as saying: "We're talking about an individual somewhere between 8 to 10 feet tall in height..."

The footage was admitted to be a hoax after the cancellation of the show. Bigfoot enthusiasts were disappointed, probably none more so than the researchers that vouched for the videos authenticity.

  1. Haha, yeah, you'd think that an animal that spends all its time in the snow on the side of a mountain would at least be able to walk forward without falling over. I remember seeing this years ago and being so convinced it was real. It's probably one of the best bigfoot hoaxes of all time.

  3. Post them admitting it was a hoax. I want to see that. I also want to see the suit they used. And the person who was in it, demonstrating it. Or did the suit magically, conveniently disappear afterwards?

It's too easy just say "it was a hoax." Let them prove it. Otherwise their hoax admittance is worthless. I mean, this whole bigfoot phenomenon is about proof right? It should work both ways.

    1. For sure, for sure. It seems everything is being claimed to be a hoax now.

Let me guess, none of the researchers were actual members of the scientific community. Big surprise.

I love that video, though. It's great.

  5. that ain't f-in right people. don't you hate when you really dig something and others pretty much crush it at every chance they get. with this many idiots all gravitating to a passion that i take intrest in just sucks. i'm(you)just looking for the real truth trying to get one over on the bigfoot crowd seems to be the thing to do. just like the guy and son filming the shaking trees and the super-tool t. standing. hey fakers dig up a dead relative or something you really are a hated entity!!!

  6. Well, I don't know if the video is real or not, but it sure looks real. I was reading about the Patterson footage this morning and all sorts of people were claiming it was a hoax and it turned out those people couldn't have possibly been involved. I guess there's a whole cottage hoaxing industry: hoaxers and people who claim that real videos are hoaxes.

Those of us who believe don't need the assurance of video or any other kind of proof. Knowing is enough. At least it is for me.

    1. It's a bit much - the degree of skepticism that goes on and claims of hoax with no proof. Getting tired of it.

  7. I agree with you Ms. Sue D. I have never seen the walking footage of the snowwalker before, only outtakes, and I never did have an opinion except possible. I had no idea that Meldrum and the Russian's were fooled especially when you see how the creature struggles mightily in the snow, which goes against eyewitness reports and snow track photos like those in Wisconsin a few years ago. That should have been a big tip off.

    1. Give the guy a break! He's stuck in snow that is up to his rear end, but he still manages to get out of it pretty quickly. His arms also pretty darned long.

  9. I agree with Thinker, as I'm one myself, where's the suit? It's very fashionable to confess to this or that these days, and people are very quick to jump onboard and accept a confession. It sort of restores the world back to normal if you get a confession, everybody loves a confession so we tend to blindly buy it. Even without proof, just on faith, meaning that believing confessions is almost religious to some. When did Fox or whoever ever admit it's fake, surely they can come out and show how they did it? Until we see that I'll take it there's no proof of a hoax, a confession is no proof.

  10. It's no hoax. It's outstanding footage. Dr. Eugenie Scott is full of it. She's lost.

Also, can't snow ever get deep enough for even a yeti to struggle with it? You mean there is no depth limit to what a yeti can negotiate, so it's a hoax? If the snowfall is 30 feet deep, unless yeti skates free and easy on it, it's a hoax?

Wow are we dealing with some infantile skeptics here.
