Todd Standing reportedly in negotiations with Les Stroud (Survivorman) to do TV show about Bigfoot

Todd Standing is in the news again. This time he's talking about being in negotiations with cable networks such as Discovery Channel, Paranormal Channel and Outdoor Life Network, the latter of which includes Les (Survivorman) Stroud.
And from what we've gathered from the report, the $2-million reward offer is still out on the table for anyone who can produce a Bigfoot body, or significant piece of a body that has died of natural causes. Standing does not say exactly who's going to provide the dough, but he mentions a "wealthy individual."
For those not familiar with Todd Standing, he's the Bigfoot Hunter from Canada who claims to know of a secret valley where he believes a group of Bigfoots are living. He says the natives calls the place Sylvanic, and it's located between Kootenay National Park and Banff. During previous expeditions to Sylvanic, Standing has captured videos and photos of the these creatures as evidence, but skeptics called them hoaxes.

Filmmaker continues quest to prove existence of ‘primate’
Wilderness guide and filmmaker Todd Standing, who once set out to prove that Bigfoot didn't exist, is now advocating for the species to be protected.
Standing claims to have had multiple encounters with a troop of Bigfoot that he says live between Banff and Kootenay National Park.
The Edmonton native has multiple videos, which he says, is evidence of these encounters, but acknowledges that videos may never be enough to convince the public.
One of the videos is of an unidentified animal moving in an unusual way.
"I've had film experts look at it and they said that's raw footage," Standing says. "So if it's raw footage, and a man couldn't have done that, what was it? And my answer is, it's a new species of primate."
His goal: gain legal recognition and species protection for what he says would be "the closest living primate to human beings."
Standing says he's offering a $2-million reward out for anyone who can produce a Bigfoot body, or significant piece of a body that has died of natural causes.
A wealthy individual offered to provide the reward after accompanying Standing on an expedition. Standing believes that providing DNA will be the final piece of his puzzle, and that the Canadian Government will allow protection of the species.
While not wholly discounting Standing's work, Anne-Marie Syslak, executive director of the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society's Southern Alberta Chapter, says that as of yet, Standing has proved nothing.
"If they find Bigfoot and can prove that this is an endangered species then that is something that we could get involved in and advocate for the protection and the preservation of a species," Syslak said.
"But to date we don't know that this species exists, so we need to focus on species that we do know exist and their problems, as well as the health and ecological integrity of the park."
In 2005, Standing was working on a paper aiming to prove why Bigfoot was just a myth.
With the belief that the Rocky Mountains could not provide a sustainable environment for an animal of that nature, he went to research in the forest between Kootenay National Park and Banff.
Joined by a Cree Nations Elder, a biologist and a paramedic, Standing says he shot two pieces of video that immediately disproved his paper's theory.
He says that during his first encounter with Bigfoot, he had a hard time accepting the experience. He originally believed that what he was seeing was a man in a costume, and that the First Nations people had been trying to scare people out of that particular area.
It was the way that the animal moved that caused him to question it.
"I wanted to get up on that ridge where I saw that animal and catch that man and take that suit off," Standing says passionately.
But as soon as he could figure out how to get up to where the animal was, it was gone, he says. Standing recalls that the tracks showed that the animal would have had to rock-climb a large distance and then leap across a large gully, something he says just wasn't humanly possible.
Standing says that when he came to terms with his realization that the animal was real, it was like "a punch in the face." Standing eventually began to tell people that not only was the animal real, but that he had a first-hand experience with it.
"I became passionate about the reality of the species," he says.
In 2006, Standing made a mini-documentary on his findings and toured around Western Canada, doing showings and collecting signatures on a petition to get the species protected.
Going in to the woods and collecting evidence has by no means been easy for the researcher. He has faced dangerous encounters with bears and cougars, and his team even had to call search and rescue when he went missing for three days during an expedition.
He is a husband and father, and says these experiences have not been easy on his family.
He says he looks forward to the day when he no longer feels he has to risk his life trying to prove that Bigfoot exists.
If the species were to become legally recognized, Standing plans to have his research taken over by zoologists and primatologists who can continue to study the animals.
He says he hopes that his work will make a significant impact on the scientific community and that studying primates will be made easier since researchers would no longer have to travel to other continents just to find them.
For now Standing's goal remains the same: gain enough evidence to prove that the species exists.
Although he continues to search for a body during his expeditions, another option is to gain enough public support with other forms of evidence. Last month Standing worked with the crew from the "Animal Planet" series "Finding Bigfoot" who filmed an episode that featured Standing and his work.
He has also been in negotiation with other cable networks such as Discovery Channel, Paranormal Channel and Outdoor Life Network, the latter of which includes Les (Survivorman) Stroud.
By working with someone like Stroud, who has an abundance of wilderness experience, and a large fan base, Standing believes that it might be possible to produce quality footage that would propel his mission forward with public support.
Another bigfoot seeker, Gary Cronin, says that to get species protection without DNA and gain public support, Standing would need to produce clearer videos than the ones he has previously released.
Although Cronin, who is a researcher for the California-based Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization, says he is unable to confirm whether Standing's work is accurate, he believes that Standing does have good intentions, and that their missions are one in the same: to get DNA evidence and prove that Bigfoot exists.
Cronin's organization was founded in 1995 and is dedicated to investigating bigfoot reports across North America.
Cronin also says that Standing is not alone in his claims of spotting Bigfoot in the Banff area. He says that there has been a long history of credible reports from the last 100 years of sightings within the Rocky Mountain slopes.

I wouldn't put Stroud within a 100 miles of Standing. Something tells me he will deny this association with Standing.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, did you guys know Standing's real name was Todd Rockwell? He's owned a production company for quite a long time.
I could bury him right here with page after page of evidence but I don't have the time.
It's people like Standing that ruin legitimate Crypto investigation.
Shawn, you are way too nice to Standing.

Bury Standing please, I see him get alot of hate yet I can't see how his videos are disproved so easily
DeleteNice Scott! Todd standing is a total hoaxer. He should never be given any kind of show.
ReplyDeletesad news.
Thanks

Les Stroud may believe in Bigfoot because of his own experiences in the bush but he’s a professional and as such wouldn’t jump into anything. With little investigation one can see Todd has some serious credibility issues. Les wouldn’t be stupid enough to go within a hundred miles of Todd.
ReplyDeleteTodd is just looking for more publicity and it seems he got it. He’s starting to make Biscardi look pretty low key. lol
On a personal note Les lives about 150 k down the road from me in the Huntsville area. He has a beautiful off the grid cottage and lives there with his family. From what I’ve heard he’s a very nice guy and I hope he doesn’t involve himself with Todd.
I don't know how Todd Standing could think the Canadian Rockies couldn't support a Bigfoot population.
ReplyDeleteThere are Bighorn Sheep,Elk,Mule and White Tail Deer. There are also Rabbits/Hares,Squirrels and many, many birds.
The shopping list for BF is long so I won't list everything.
Everything I've read on Todd points to him being a hoaxer. Why any of the networks would go to someone with his suspect record is beyond me.
One at a time, these less than credible "researchers" are putting another nail in the coffin for those trying to prove Bigfoot is real.
The skeptics have ample ammunition to lob at believers because of people like TS.I live in Calgary and if I ever came upon a dead Bigfoot,TS would be the last person I'd call.
I also doubt there is any "secret" valley anywhere in or near the park.
The area has most likely been mapped to the square inch by hikers, the government and the railroad.
FRAUD STANDING
ReplyDeleteAnd THIS would be a description of their first Expedition:
ReplyDeleteSOURCE: Todd Standing
Who can find the problems? Maybe Todd can tell everyone who the camera girl was. I already know. Maybe he can explain today how 16mm film is destroyed as he described. lol Todd's past claims will catch up with him. :)
Uh don't forget, it takes 3 days of hiking to reach the hidden valley. This is all from when he was first expressing his very vivid imagination, now he has mastered it.
"The Expedition.
Armed with nothing other then camera and film a small group of three people and myself went off in search of this hidden entrance to sylvanic. Our group consisted of my self taking photographs with a 35 mm still camera, a camera man with a 16mm motion picture camera, a experience woodsman with his guide dog, and our woman of the group capturing digital photographs on a 3.2 mega pixel digital camera. We had a map a friend of mine had drawn up to guide us to the small entrance way. Everyone in the group was in top physical condition because we knew we could not spend the night and I had hoped to at least get a few shots of the valley before we had to turn back. The map was very accurate and our guide had no trouble finding the entranceway into the canyon pass. Below is the picture of the entranceway. It is a small space under a huge mountain. Just to go under it one had to take a deep breath and hope at that moment the mountain above would not decide to crush you.
Once we where inside the first immediate difference one would notice was the abundance of animal tracks. I can speak for everyone there when I say we where all immediately awestruck by the beauty of this place. The canyon walls are 50 to 200 foot tall rock walls coloured with various shades of blue, gray and copper. The width of the canyon was never greater then 100 yards across and in the centre of this canyon was a small creek that disappeared under the mountain before it reached the entranceway in. There also was a very large abundance of very oddly shaped trees. I would say 1 in 10 had a very odd mutated looking growth.
Contd.

ReplyDeleteUp until this point the trip was turning out to be quit a success. We hiked in a short distance and stopped for lunch. Soon after lunch we hit our first snag. While filming a arge ice formation our cameraman blacked out and collapsed. Luckily he fell into a bank of snow so he did not injure himself or the camera. He never seemed to fall completely into unconsciousness, but when he came back to his senses he was acting very paranoid and delusional. He claimed he could feel someone watching him, which was likely due to the lack of oxygen at the high altitude. However I was determined to continue on. I at least wanted to get to the spot the natives called the tears of the mountain. But I was going to have to do it without the aid of our cameraman, and as luck would have it without our guide dog. Although I do not think our guide was swayed by our camera mans paranoia the dog certainly seemed to be convinced that there was something unfavourable ahead of us on this path. The dog simply would not go on any further no matter how hard our guide tried to coax him. So the dog and our cameraman remained behind while the three of us continued on to the tears of the mountain. Unfortunately we would never reach it.
While I was taking a few shots of some interesting rock formations with our guide my camera girl stumbled onto a set of very odd-looking tracks. She called back to us to inform us of what she had found then she recorded on her digital camera the footage we call video 1.
What ever it was that was hidden behind those tree made off in quit a hurry. When we took a look for ourselves we found a small cave behind that cluster of trees with an entranceway that was covered by broken branches. The inside of the cave was filled with hair and dead grass. The odour of the place was similar to what you might smell in a barn only the odour seemed much more skunk like. We quickly took these next photographs and made our was back out of sylvanic. We where all in agreement that we did not want to be anywhere near sylvanic at nightfall.
The next day the three of us elected to go back to sylvanic and gather more physical evidence of the things we had seen. However we were unable to get back into the valley because the passageway was buried by a wall of snow. Although we stayed for a few hours in a futile attempt to dig our way though, our efforts were in vain. The wall of snow was just too much for us.
The wall of snow however paled in comparison to the disappointment we discovered the day after. As you may have noticed this website consists entirely of digital pictures. None of the 35mm still photographs or 16mm motion camera shots turned out. They where somehow overexposed in a way that no person I have met with can account for. The most plausible expert explanation I was given seems to be our film was exposed to some kind of strong magnetic field"
Les was interviewed by Joe Rogan and he said he is in works with the fraud Todd Standing to produce a show.
ReplyDeletepff Les said on the Joe Rogan podcast he would love to do a surviorman bigfoot with todd and even states that he admires what todd has done with finding bigfoot
ReplyDeleteList of frauds: todd standing, Rick Dyer, justin smeja, "bobo" and the rest of that stupid reality show finding Bigfoot, Jeff meldrum, melba Ketchum, BFRO, NABS, this website, and many others.
ReplyDeleteLook, people like todd standing and Rick Dyer are just pieces of shit that need to be lynched while in their ape costumes. Nothing more, I now fear that les Stroud has either been duped, or has bent to the will of the snake oil salesmen's influence as well. People like Bob heronimus are no different. But groups like BFRO, nabs, this blog, and others like the fake reality shows are just shills in place by the government to discredit the whole movement. They trample through the woods, hootin and blasting their guns like they're out lookin for quail. Stupid Hicks. But what really pisses me off are the science community shills. Melba Ketchum really stured up the hive with all this crap about finally proving it. But then she publishes the paper by creating a publisher, so now it's corrupt and everyone knows it. That was the first blow, the next is when Sykes drops shit on it. The only person I truly trust is robert Morgan. Read his book:soul snatchers, a quest for true human beings. Just read it whoever reads this comment. It's different from any other Bigfoot book you'll ever read. Many things happen, but the main thing in this is that he goes straight to the source of people who have the most knowledge about the forest giants, the Indians, see talk to their shamans and they all say it's human. Not dumb apes, it's such a great book that I can't describe it in words here. Just read it, I would say, that this is the best Bigfoot book ever written, and will probably be the last. His second book is the Bigfoot observers field manual, super short, but you are almost garenteed a sighting if youfollow it truthfully. RRecently he was on a podcast that no one has Hurd of, but other than that, he has completely disappeared off the grid, he has moved to a house in the mountains of Montana last I Hurd, COMPLETELY FRAUD FREE. He is one of the only people left from the days of Patterson and gimlin, and grover krantz.
fraud. fraud. fraud that's all I'm hearing, yet absolutely no facts, evidence, or proof fo such claims. Simply calling someone a fraud doesn't make it true....proof please. Why are all these people allegedly frauds?
ReplyDeleteI like to discover something new every day. For example, on this useful source I read really useful writing advices recently.
