Dr. Mathew Johnson Verifying What Happened In This Photograph

Editor’s Note: Dr. Matthew A. Johnson is one of the most credible people in the Bigfoot world. In July 1, 2000, Dr. Johnson had a "Class A" Bigfoot encounter with his family while hiking near the Oregon Caves. After his life changing sighting, he went to the public and described one of the most intense encounters ever. You can join him on Facebook at Team Squatchin USA.

Thank you for the feedback yesterday regarding the picture and story that I posted that was shared with me by my friend in southern Oregon. After much feedback from many of you, including receiving a cleaned up comparison picture, it became apparent to me that the picture was of a man in a jacket. This means one of two things:

1. It's a major HOAX. However, please keep in mind, that my friend and his son are great people and have integrity. They wouldn't make anything like this up. Also, the way the story was conveyed to me, the best friend of my friend's son was apparently traumatized. Again, my friend wouldn't make this stuff up. He's a Bigfooter and he dislikes HOAXERS as much as I dislike HOAXERS.

2. If it's not a HOAX, then it really happened. If it really happened, then that means one of two things:

A. There's a dead Bigfoot body up on that mountain, or....
B. There's a dead Human body up on that mountain.

In light of the above possibilities, and still being a Licensed Psychologist in the State of Oregon (although I've been living in Washington for 2.5 years), I'm legally mandated to make a report to the Oregon State Police and let them sort the matter out.

I just made the report and informed my friend that I had no choice but to do so. We will see what happens. As much as I hate HOAXES, I'm praying for everyone's sake that this particular incident turns out to be one. A HOAX would be much better than a dead Human or a dead Bigfoot.

I just emailed both pics to the Oregon State Police.

According to research, right around 52% of people with PTSD experience one or more Psychotic Episodes (i.e., A psychological break from reality). Of those 52%, approximately 20% report seeing things that others can't see.

The gentleman who made the report to my good friend's son is a former Army Ranger who saw action in the Middle East. Therefore, statistically speaking, he's vulnerable to having PTSD. If he does, a Human standing up in the woods (when he initially thought he was taking a picture of a Black Bear) most certainly could have trigger a PTSD Psychotic Episode. If this happened, he very well could have panicked, shot a Bigfoot that was walking toward him, and ran away as described.

While talking with the OSP Detective, he informed me that they were already utilizing their Search and Rescue Team for a different case. HOWEVER, the way he was talking, the timing of the alleged shooting could have happened around the time a man went missing. He appeared to be very interested in obtaining as much information as possible. Especially, the location of the alleged shooting. He talked as if they wanted to get the Search and Rescue Team up there on the mountain as soon as possible.

    1. What a great Bullshit story! He should be Obama's spoke person. He could spin any story, even telling people Obama is WHITE!

    2. Oh for Christ sakes!!! Really now we are going to involve PTSD, isn't being a veteran with in field combat hard enough to deal with. So we have people making up stories that would fit a Hollywood script.... REALLY, how sad.

  3. So tired of this editor's note all the time - and mathew constantly repeating he's a doctor. This guy is SO full of himself.

I'll repeat from the previous post:

Would you just stop calling mathhew johnson a doctor, who cares he's a doctor, just call him mathew or mr. johnson, like you would with any other person in the world.

Also stop calling him one of the most credible people in the bigfoot world in each article. This doesn't do justice to the so many other credible people. Mathew johnson is no more credible than any other person, doctor or not.

By the way, being a doctor doesn't equal being a god. There are billions of doctors in the world. Doesn't mean that another profession is less worthy.

    1. your exactly right. What Shawn likes to do is manipulate the stupid footers into thinking people likes his business partner, Matt Johnson, is credible. Earning a doctorate means nothing nowadays, and often doesnt even assure a job.

Odds are mat johnson has a doctorate in communications and is claiming the title of doctor to sound important. Attaining a doctorate is not even that difficult anymore.

This is just another clown supported by Shawn to try and boost hits for money

  10. Dr. Mathew Johnson isnt a doctor of anything. Hes just some dude. Stop trying to make him credible you little asian man. "one of the most credible people in the field", lol, why, b/c you place the term Dr. in front of his name.

Just another Phil Poling assuming the Dr. alias.

  11. That looks like Justin Smeja's jacket. OMG, he's shot Justin! And there was blood everywhere. He held Justin as he died, even choked him to put him out of his misery. That's what Army Rangers with PTSD do when they think they've shot a bigfoot! But wait, this just in! The cops went looking, found the exact spot, and only found a dead raccoon, and the DNA on the ex-Ranger tested out to be squirrel! What happened to Justin? The Ranger KNOWS what he shot, and it wasn't a raccoon or a squirrel. It's that dang bigfoot magic again!

    4. Anybody see Justin change his story to now having choked the baby bigfoot to death, and now also having bones and a wider variety of flesh, and that it was tested and came back as "feral human"? So he's ignoring all 4 lab results and going with Melba's results, after having totally dumped on her credibility? Looks like his time in the spotlight is coming to an end soon. What better way to have it end than to see him get the ax on the new show.

  12. he is also claiming he is the best bigfoot tracker or best person to catch bigfoot. seems kinda fishy considering he said bigfoot likes chinese and mexican food although he won't turn down pizza.

  13. Yep. Oregon State Police will jump right on this case. Probably send either Deputy Fife or Officers Howard, Fine and Howard to investigate.

While you're at it, why not e-mail the FBI, NSA, DIA, CIA, and Secret Service. I'm sure they want a piece of this.

Yep he looks credible all right. With his hands on his hips like that, he must be observing the nearest PF Changs, maybe he could stop in and visit Shawn.

  26. For the record Johnson really is a doctor, and really does have a license to practice medicine in Washington state, and really did go to school for more years than most pajama boys are old to learn his vocation, and really did get out of his mamas basement to try to help fellow human beings. Any diatribes should reflect these facts, otherwise the diatriber looks like well a pajama boy who lives in his mamas basement and steal his daddies weed and is a complete fool and failure as a human being or any other being. elevate your zingers so they correspond with reality and they will be funnier

    1. Just because a person lives in their parents basement doesn't make them unsuccessful. I choose to live in underground apartment that I have created in the lower level of my parent's home. Who is laughing now? I save on rent, food, and laundry. I agree, why does this site always refer to Johnson as Doctor. Like some of these people have said, getting a doctrite is easy. I could easily get one but I just haven't yet. I will soon. I have never seen a bigfoot and it don't take a doctorate to know that if I haven't seen it, it is not real.

    2. Okay, so he is licensed to practice. Hasn't he given up or lost his practice, along with his kids, since his wife divorced him? And he's living in Puyallup, Washington, a very well established city. Even though there are plenty of "green belts" here and there, there's very little area for any large wild primate to hide out. If bigfoots really did live in Puyallup, in numbers capable of actually surviving and reproducing, they'd be visible. After all, they can't mind zap ALL the cars, trucks, pedestrians and everything else that buzzes around Puyallup! He says, "here, let me take you to this wild spot where the bigfeets live and visit me." The cameras see what looks like forest. Zoom out, or up about 200 feet and you'd see that forest is quite small and surrounded by CITY. He may have an actual license to practice a form of medicine, or therapy actually, but that doesn't mean he's not a complete phony when it comes to bigfooting.

  28. The only person who thinks getting a true doctorate is easy is the one who has no clue what it takes to receive a doctorate. You can order a diploma online but that does not constitute earning a doctorate Mr. Anonymous! Just in case you don't know, before you are accepted into any doctoral program you'll have to have a Masters Degree. You should probably set your sights a little lower until you finish your GED.
