This story was circulating the internet way back in 2004, or maybe as far back as 1999. Back when everybody was on 56k dial-up modems and a "Facebook" was just a regular book with directory listing of names and headshots. This story was so disturbing and so shocking that nobody believed it at the time. It was the Robert Lindsay " Bear Hunter: Two Bigfoots Shot and DNA Samples Taken " story of the time. And like Robert's Bear Hunter story , this witness didn't have a name. The only thing known about the witness is that this person was a government employee, anonymous of course. The author of the story was a science teacher named Thom Powell who believe it really happened and that the whole story was an elaborate cover-up. Powell said the anonymous government employee alerted the BFRO about a 7.5 feet long/tall burn victim with "multiple burns on hands, feet, legs and body; some 2nd and 3rd degree burns". Neither you nor Daniel know the outcome of the study, book, docs. The Independent will surely have released or leaked only the mildest of the discoveries. They aren't going to blow out blockbuster news and steal the thunder from the docs and risk pre-collapsing the ratings.
Also, why the devil is a newspaper publishing some of the results? Does this not smack of Ketchum, yet there are no skeptardical attacks on this? Why is that? A newspaper releases some results before the science journal does? How is that? What science journal would agree to that? Is Sykes "publishing" in a newspaper instead of a science journal (so far) more credible than Ketchum self-publishing and then doing a round of press conferences? Both have gone mass-media so far and not standard science journals.
Daniel you seem to forget Sykes' quote on how we'll view the history of mankind. So far, a bear/bear hybrid isn't causing me to change how I view the history of mankind; you?
Obviously, this other news is yet to come. Daniel you are dancing in circles as though the bear/bear hyrbrid is it, this is it, this is all there is, and anyone interested in the study was wrong. You get all this from one newspaper article before any of the study is released. I think you're leaping before you look.

Sykes also can only give results on apparently now 50 samples, not 50,000 as he did on DNA studies in Britain. He's not able to disprove the existence of any creature.
