Dr. Bryan Sykes Is Right on Schedule With Bigfoot DNA Study

Here's the latest from Dr. Bryan Sykes who has been extremely busy putting together something that may make history. Last year, Sykes asked researchers to send in any possible Bigfoot DNA they may have in their posession. Sykes set a deadline and began publication earlier this year -- it's now almost complete. According to the professor of Human Genetics at the University of Oxford, who happens to be one of the world's leading geneticists, it's been a long and expensive journey. The bill for analyzing each sample was around $2K. Though he is satisfied by the number of samples he received from people around the world (30+ samples), he's encouraging researchers to keep looking. Here's the latest update from Oxford:

UPDATE - August 2013

Thanks to all who have contributed samples to the project. We have collected and analysed over thirty samples and results are being prepared for publication. Following normal procedure, no results or other information will be available prior to publication, so please do not enquire.

Though the collection phase is now over, hair samples can still be submitted for analysis, but the costs (about $2,000 per sample) will no longer be covered.

Bryan Sykes.

Sykes recently visited the Sierra Kills site after a bear hunter named Justin Smeja reportedly shot Bigfoot. Sykes is in possession of Smeja's boots that he hopes to be able to extract blood samples from. According to Smeja, a juvenile Bigfoot had died in his arms and bled on his boots after getting shot in the neck. Though the boots had been used in hunting trips after the incident for several months, it's unclear how Sykes plans to isolate contaminants from other animals such as bear or coyote.

    1. Why would you automatically assume sykes is going to prove there is a new species known as bigfoot? Why would anyone jump to that conclusion before reading what he has to offer?

Many in the bigfoot community are done with it if sykes comes back with a negative, and who's to blame them.

No bigfoot. No evidence of a bigfoot.

      Sykes is your last hope.

      Good luck footers!

      Footers gonna be called out.

When the best samples footers have to offer vetted by none other than reverend meldrum that they swear came from a bigfoot, come back as known animals, the final death knell on footery will be upon you.

      Delete
    9. Let's just imagine that Sykes does come back with known animals; it will only mean the samples that were submitted were not Bigfoot samples. That result would not have any baring on the subject for too long... Once the penny drops to tards of the irrelevance of that scenario. Now, on the other hand, what will happen if he presents what enthusiasts expect?

What Sykes says and does is going to matter a great deal, in my opinion...

      Delete
    16. Yep... but the deluded folks like mmg and joe will carry on bleeving just fine. They already look past the fact that patterson was a con man so stuff like this is a walk in the park. No issues.

    17. Yeah,3;44, inconvenient truths are ignored and negative results completely forgotten-Erickson, Olympic and Ketchum projects are dust in the wind. In a genuine search for truth things like that would be used to narrow down the search: "We're pretty sure there are no bigfoots in the Olympic mountains so lets look here..."..lol..

      Delete
    18. What we look past is a paid troll like you, 3:44. Sykes probably won't prove Sasquatch real due to the fact the powers that be have a say in when, and we all know (or the smart ones here do) that this species in order to exist at all MUST be something other than ape/animal or it'd been found centuries ago. That option is a goner due to common logic alone. Left are only two realistic ones, the hominin (that they all oppose also hence likely not revealed) or the ET that they oppose even stronger. So Sykes is left to do what mainstream science has been forced to do always, dance to the shadow government's pipe.

      Delete
    19. ..Well, at least we agree that a normal flesh and blood animal would have been found by now and the lack of physical evidence glaringly contradicts the number of claimed sightings..Not trolling you, I like the way you think-you start with the assumption the myriad sightings are valid and go where it leads you...

If he was seriously looking into this why is he bringing along a camera crew and interviewing/visiting the most outlandish and crazy people involved with bigfoot? Any of you footers honestly believe Justin Smeja or Dr. Matthew A. Johnson has anything to offer? Well Dr. Sykes sure as hell does. That alone should be a massive red flag.

That is not credible to try to fit this man with a tin foil hat just because you don't like what he might present.

Yes it sure does sound like Sharon Shill. Now Sykes and Oxford University are jokes, apparently.

      Delete
    4. The $2000 would not go to Sykes; it's the cost of the test which would presumably go to Oxford. Sharon Shill needs to study up.

    6. So you do consider Justin Smeja and Dr. Matthew A. Johnson credible.

That is now a fact Joe and MMG. You consider those two to be honest, credible witnesses to a massive, unknown person/ape living secretly in North America.

      You both better own this.

      Delete
    7. Dr. Sykes seems like a credible person. I don't have reason to doubt his motives (yet).

His study, however, will prove nothing. The problem is the samples. It's great that Sykes sent a test kit with instructions to those who offered to submit samples. We just don't really know how each sample was originally collected or who (if anyone) witnessed the collection. Chain of custody must be well-documented and I'm guessing that won't be the case here.
