Like Rick Dyer, FBFB Is Also Going Away... For Now...
This just in from Facebook Find Bigfoot. Although they're not completely shutting down their page, they're going to lay low for a bit. They still believe that Rick Dyer has a Bigfoot body and they're hoping that he will reveal it on August 15th, the anniversary of the 2008 hoax:
Rick Dyer recently stated that a Bigfoot body will be shown to the world on 8/15/2013. If that promise is held true, that date seems to be a perfect time to start the new conversation, “How are we related to Bigfoot? and what great truth can be learned from their existence.” If there’s no body and this has been a brilliant Rick Dyer hoax, then the FBFB Page will frozen in time forever as evidence of that event.

Coverage of this stuff has nothing to do with bigfoot. Hoaxers have no bearing on whether or not the creatures exist. It would be better to offer sighting reports and analysis of them. These people have nothing to do with bigfoot. News of them isn't news of bigfoot. There are quite a few sightings recently reported that would be better to cover.

Consequently, you can take their final decision with a grain of salt, because at least the salt will be the real deal. Given those circumstances, why the FB/FB duo feels qualified to select anybody for anything, much less to serve on an "authentication committee" to determine the truth, leaves me seriously questioning their own grip on reality. Given their inexperience however, I think that we can simply write it off as Bigfoot naivety, that appears to drip off of every public comment and statement that they publish.

They started out specifically to authenticate and curate "genuine" bigfoot footage, yet failed to say anything about one of the most compelling videos to come out in a long time. I mean come on!
