Mysterious Swaying Plant [WTF?]
Horse riders in Hilton Head South Carolina stumbled upon this crazy plant that refuses to stop swinging. According to YouTube user jetpack, after about 20 minutes of riding they came back to it and it was still going crazy! "Weirdest thing I have ever seen," he wrote.
Part 2:
easy, to easy.
ReplyDeleteTrue dat. True dat.
DeleteCan I be first?
ReplyDeleteThe happening....
ReplyDeleteChewy. Is that a dreadlock or a dingelberry you got going on there ?
DeleteDingleberry..
DeleteCould I smoke it?
ReplyDeleteS N
They work better in brownies...
DeleteDamn, settle down guy. I'm no biologist, but I'm pretty sure plants aren't alive. Am I right or am I right?
ReplyDeleteThat's right Mayor, they're just like gingers.
DeletePlants aren't alive? You're right. You are no biologist.
Delete^And you sir, would make a lousy sarcasm inspector.
DeleteYeah there alive
DeleteBut I think what we got going on here is a little bit of wind with a big leaf and tiny stem. In the background you can see another limb moving in the wind
Or
What we are witnessing here is this plant being of the right dimensions physically making it possible for it to sway to the harmony of the earths natural frequency
I will leave it up to you my eyes wide open and jaws agape students to do the math and report back
MMC
Yeah plants are all dead.
DeleteGman what the hell is up with that plant?
ReplyDeleteHe'll know...
DeleteThis is the first I've seen something like this, and, truth be told, I fear the worst. It could be some kind of resonance from the underground cloning labs, but I fear it's some kind of Godless creation by the Greys. They are seeding their genetic material here on this planet, but I was unaware they were using plants as incubi as well as humans. If this is true, God help us all. They might be spiking their genes into our food supply to further devolve us, there is no end, no end to how far they will go to sever our divine link. I thought the worst they could do was Rihanna, it looks like I may have been wrong.
DeleteThis is bad, but Rihanna is worse. Thanks for the input gman..
DeleteThe nazis experimented with perpetual motion plants in the 1940s.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see acres of this stuff in sync.
DeleteThey were using them to distract Polands killer bunnies..
DeleteNo offense to any Polish internationals.......hear any good jokes lately???
DeleteNo offense taken... and your minuscule penis.
DeleteHow do you ruin a polish party?
DeleteFlush the punch bowl.
What does a polish girl do after she sucks a cock?
DeleteShe spits out the feathers...
Why did mickey mouse leave mini mouse ?
DeleteWhat happens when a Pole quits paying his garbage bill?
DeleteThey quit delivering.
I can't prove you're not.
ReplyDeleteIts a mini bigfoot tree shaker. 100% proof folks. The real deal
ReplyDeleteIt's a mole chewing at the roots!
ReplyDeleteThat's what they want you to think.
DeleteMoles eat worms and grubs, not roots.
DeleteYeah, you're right!
DeleteThere is a gentle, intermittent, breeze, as seen by the plants in the foreground. The period of the breeze is close to the resonant, or natural, frequency of the rigid rod-the plant...
ReplyDeleteits jimmy hoffa buried underneath. he wants out now.
ReplyDeleteThe leaves haven't opened up yet, so it's shaped like a cup, there's gotta be a mouse that somehow found it's way down there and is going crazy trying to get out?
ReplyDeleteI think you nailed it on the head. There's something inside of the plant making it do that. I doubt there is something under the ground chewing on the root. It would be doing that from something underneath messing with the roots.
ReplyDeleteYou can't prove Bigfoot is not responsible, therefore it has to be Bigfoot.
DeleteMassive circle jerk going on at the bff right now over Munns presentation. Patterson trolls on!
ReplyDeleteHe dropped a turd in his own punch bowl when he told everybody there IS a suit in Al Deatley's house. Munns claims it was used for promotional purposes.
DeleteThere is ZERO evidence Roger and Al used an actor in a suit when they were touring with their movie, so that excuse will soon be replaced...
I'm surprised they still allow that mealy mouthed worm Tontar post over there. He should be posting at JREF, they seemed to have crowned him butt plug of the year over there.
Delete^ It goes to the site owners' credit that they let Tontar say whatever he wants, on any thread. I'm surprised they don't have at least some threads where the advocates can discuss topics in peace....
DeleteTontard
DeleteGood guess. I've seen cocooned caterpillars snap back and forth in a regular tempo like that when they feel threatened. Or it's the blair witch's perimeter alarm, I'm not sure.
ReplyDeleteAnon 7:01 hit the nail on the head. There is a slower breeze going on. It happens to be that speed(the breeze) of plants resonant frequency. That palm is basically an airfoil, and the small breeze is hitting its resonant frequency and you can see that when the guy stops the plant and it gets going again. Its just basic Physics. See Tacoma Narrows Bridge. It collapsed in the 20's because no one knew about resonance and they didnt build it be be different than the wind that comes across the Narrows.
ReplyDeleteIts a very common engineering problem. An airplane wing can vibrate off if the aero engineers dont know the resonant frequency of their design.
Plussed
DeleteStop lying! Why are you doing this? You KNOW its not an air foil.
DeleteOh why..why why must you all do this to us day in day out every night and morning too.
That is why soldiers are taught to march across bridges in a way that prevents creating an oscillating motive force...
DeleteResonant frequency is the frequency(w) of the homogeneous solution of an ODE derived from Newton's and Hooke's laws: sin(wt)
If a motive force-with the same frequency is added-the solution has a time dependent amplitude: tsin(wt)...

Bam! There it is, well done Joe.

I hear an echo echo ech ec e ..
DeleteNope wrong, it was created and put there by the nazis. Read a book you slackers!
DeleteHistorians debate whether or not "a conclusive assessment can ever be made" in regards to the losses of both sides due to the effects of the Mysterious Swaying Plant. While over 2,000 Germans were taken prioner while marvelling at it, the evidence suggests up to 100 British and Canadian tanks were lost due to the frenetic and destructive swaying of the plants surprisingly lethal fronds.
DeleteJoe turns me on
DeleteIsn't this a Bigfoot site???
ReplyDeleteMeh, kinda sorta. Somethig new and exciting doesn't happen every couple hours.
DeleteWhere'd you get that stupid idea?
DeleteVortex shedding!
ReplyDeleteDamnedest thing I've seen since the Mysterious Tingling Penis of Krasnoyarsk Krai back in 1928.
ReplyDeleteI had seriously forgotten about that until you just brought it up. That was the most interesting, yet horrifying thing ever seen by mankind.
DeleteIt had a sound that it made as well. A sort of crackling noise like tin foil being wadded up and everytime the guy was in public the sound could be heard.
I think he ended up being used by Soviet intelligence as an agent but, I am not sure.
I do know he had trouble buying proper underwear as nothing quite fit right.
omg dude, wind. im freaking out.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing freaky is the guy making the film
ReplyDeleteAerodynamics rock man.
ReplyDeleteI was going to guess a phenomenon called "vortex shedding". Though there isn't much wind, there probably are small convection currents that run near to the ground. As the air flows around each side of the plant, it sheds a little vortex on one side, then the other. This vortex creates a net force. If the frequency of the vortex shedding matches the natural frequency of the plant, it will oscillate as you see.
ReplyDeletePlants Vs. Zombie hikers
ReplyDeleteGuess nobody has ever watched bugs bunny? There a bunny under the ground messin with hikers.
ReplyDeleteThe plant is just trying to shake a gnarly swamp eel out of it's taterhole. What's the big mystery here?
ReplyDeleteIts just PHYSICS doods thats it????? Simple Physics.
ReplyDeleteTwo men with some fishing string were out on a nature walk one day and the two decided to tie the string to the opposite sides of this plant,....Ahhh FFS do I have to draw a picture???
