A Primatologist's Opinion on Reported Sasquatch Behavior

A very interesting realization that researchers of wood ape (Sasquatch) reports have come to is that many reports indicate behaviors that are extremely similar to behaviors of the known great apes. Some of the reported behaviors, such as rock throwing, have been reported in wood apes earlier than it was known that other great apes displayed such behaviors! I think that the insight that we can receive from known great ape behavior could be very helpful in being able to track and classify these animals, as well as allowing us to debunk arguments against the existence of these animals.
As I have interviewed and consulted primatologist Michael Reid for this blog before, I thought it would be great to interview him about what wood ape behavior would likely be like in relation to known great ape behavior. Please note that by partaking in this article, Michael Reid is not necessarily exhibiting support for the existence of the reported Wood Ape species. I would like to thank Mr. Reid for taking part in this interview, and I hope that you enjoy it.

George Jones funeral at Grand Ole Opry open to public
DeleteCountry music icon George Jones' funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday at The Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, Tenn., and will be open to the public.
"George would have wanted his fans and friends everywhere to be able to come and pay their respects along with his family," said publicist Kirt Webster. The Country Music Hall of Famer, member of the Grand Ole Opry and Kennedy Center Honoree died Friday at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville at the age of 81.

DeleteThey aren't apes there aren't thousands of wild roaming apes in the American wilderness, proving one thing; Jay's a gullible guy hanging on every word his master Meldrum preaches.
DeleteOh! I almost dismissed this as another sasquatch article, but then I saw it was about wood apes. Those rascally wood apes...

DeleteHurdles to talks high after North Korea threats
ReplyDeletePYONGYANG, North Korea (AP) -- After weeks of fiery rhetoric, military posturing and threats that it's willing to strike back hard if provoked, North Korea appears to be taking a bit of a breather. The U.S.-South Korea war games it despises are winding down, and feelers are out in diplomatic circles that it might be best to open up some avenue for dialogue. If that sounds familiar, it should - it's a pattern that has been repeated for decades....

ReplyDeleteIn addition to the spam bots, we've got a news wire feed on this blog?
Sasquatch are no more apes than we are; we're both hominids. Our line separated from the great apes around 7 million years ago. That said, behaviorally, there remain many similarities.
ReplyDeleteLol they don't exist. How about we start with that fact.
DeleteThat's fact? Why because you haven't seen one presented yet on Bilderberg Television and other infiltrated cover-up working channels? LOL Yes they exist but apes they're not, precisely why you haven't seen one officially found now.
DeleteLol. No doubt you believe in god too.
DeleteGot monkey?
Nope.

ReplyDeleteYou can tag a name on a mysterious creature in the woods that is reported to be 6 to 12 feet tale but ...
DeleteNo pictures that scientist can use to make a good investigation happen never comes to focus.
What is needed is "real evidence" it is not going to happen with what is in the bag now.
All that is brought forth to show is the PGF and its too dated to use.
Why can't someone finance a year long search in "one" area that's know to have these creatures? Money talks.
This bigfoot creature as of today is still not real to science.
Its a fact that no proof is at hand. To many hoaxes and thats killed bigfoot in the science circles.
It is the year 2036 and still no proof of this mysterious creature.
John Titor- Time Traverler from the year 2036
I agree with you about the hoaxes killing the topic.
DeleteHowever the other part of your post is a watered down oversimplification of the topic.
so John why don't you go back in time and rewrite your comment
DeleteThe fact that there is no monkey and its just a mythical creature is what's killing the topic.
DeleteI was at the Circus and i saw monkeys, monkeys are funny but then the clowns come out clowns scare me

ReplyDeleteWoodapes?
ReplyDeleteSorry your going to have to do better than that.
8 foots magic apes running all around america leaving zero trace that they even exist? Sorry. Thats nonsense.
Bipedal monkeys with super intelligence yet no tools fire community or shelter yet evolved to be 9 feet talll. Nope sorry. Not even close to being feasible.
Try reading some actual books about science (not missing 411) you might learn something and realise how silly you sound.
A magic monkey man? Sorry. No just no.
How about a Liger It's pretty much my favorite animal. It's like a lion and a tiger mixed... bred for its skills in magic.
DeleteYeah, 7-12 feet tale apes running 'round for decades? Now I could believe in escaped apes. It could happen and does. But, no way giant apes and cavemenn running around and not caught on film that would blow you mind.
DeleteI need a body. We need a body. If not the hoaxers take over and win everytime.
When is that falcon blimp gonna do research?
Yeah, the Falcon Blimp thing. When's that launching or what not?
DeleteInteresting article, but again I think that relating BF to Giganto is a mistake. Whenever someone does this it is based on the size factor and nothing else. Giganto enthusiasts do not take into account footprint evidence and what that means in relation to a Giganto relative. Even Meldrum doesn't seem to address it. Did Giganto have a foot with all toes in line in the front of the foot? Or did it have a foot more resembling an Orang, Chimp, Gorilla etc.. If BF is a Giganto relative, it's way down the evolutionary turnpike from it.
ReplyDeleteAnother thing, BF is an omnivore. Based on sightings, it is an active hunter. It chases down deer. And if the recent Myakka incident is true, they may use some pretty advanced techniques in hunting. I really don't think BF is a dumb herbivore that occasionally stumbles on some meat. These animals are smart, stealthy, and use their advanced (over great apes) abilities to survive relatively unknown and unseen in various habitats.
In my book, BF is a human pre-cursor from a dead-end branch of the tree. More like a robust Australopithecine than a Gigantopithicus. Though the description of Giganto is taken only from portions of discovered U shaped jaw bone allowing for a windpipe located in the jaw, unlike other apes , pointing to an upright body. We have no other evidence to body structure. On the other hand we do have this structure in fossil evidence of Australopithicines.
I liked your comment except for the part about Myakka. The ubiquitous bigfoot scenario undermines the credibility of the subject...
