Something that does not belong: Sounds of a Crying Baby In The Woods

Editor's Note: This is a post by Bigfoot Evidence contributor M. Strudwick, a Sasquatch enthusiast.

Imagine being deep in the woods at night, you are surrounded by the sounds of trees rustling, twigs and branches cracking, overlooked by hundreds of unknown shadows. You sit silent and cold, bewitched by the distant animal sounds, shivering hoping to hear something that you do not recognise, maybe the sound of footsteps, or a deep throaty call into the night.

But then out of the darkness a sound hangs in the breeze, a sound that you should never hear out in the woods at night, a sound that confuses and stirs your insides...

This is exactly what happened to Stan Courtney and his friends, a team of paranormal researchers called Spirit Bluffs Paranormal , find out more here:

[Update] For whatever reason, Stan Courtney was very upset about our readers going to his website, so we included the sound here instead.

Here's the full clip of the Crying Baby.
Here's the edited clip of the Crying Baby.

    6. For those that say it's a baby crying...Apparently you have never a Panther/BlackCat in the woods at night. A adult Panther scream is compared to the sound of a woman screaming. Younger Panther screams are compared to that of an infant crying.Furthermore, before you say you were in the woods at night,& say you heard,or recorded the sound of a puppy yelping, chances are you heard a infant alligator. That is why if live near water you may have heard of dogs/puppies going missing,or eaten by adult most likely Female alligator. The Female who stays close to her nest,or hatchlings hears the puppy barking/yelping,& thinks it's the sound of her young in distress,& comes to investigate. Finds no young, but a tasty snack...

  8. Knower here:

I have seen this used before. One time while riding side saddle with ol Roger, i heard a baby crying in the woods, tracked it down and it was an indian baby being raised by what looked like opossums. Well we just went on our way cause we really needed to buy some tobacco.
But on to the PG film. Erickson has it and it will show without a doubt its the real costume. Pictures will be released, but not the actual suit. Sure others have made exact copies since the suit, but this is real b/c erickson has the suit and i took pictures. The pictures will just blow your mind and they are the real deal.
Heck, a video of it even may come out, but no one will be allowed to see the costume b/c we dont want people to try and steal it. Its the real deal folks. I used to ride with bob gimlin and sold him tobacco on many occasions.

    1. It's illegal to sell tobacco without taxation by the government...but u should know this.

    2. Show the pictures then you dumb fuck. You don't have shit. If you have pictures of the supposed PGfilm suit then you could make a lot of money. Why don't you just release em, that is, if you really have em.

Stick indians steal children and the cries you hear are there to draw you into the woods. I too have heard them.

  22. I think this happens more than realized. Here's just two articles where full search and rescue teams were called out for this. Just in case one wonders why this alone would justify such a search.Babies/infants have often been carried out in the woods and abandoned and then found by someone who only hear their cries.

Search on-going in Nevada County after cries for help
The reported cries of a man and a child have prompted a search in Nevada County.
A search and rescue mission began after 8 p.m. Wednesday when a citizen reported hearing a male and a small child calling from help near the Deer Creek Tribute trail, off Champion Road, west of Nevada City. Volunteers searching the area on foot have not been able to find anyone.

A California Highway Patrol helicopter crew has also been helping in the search.

Rescuers search Big Pines area after hiker reports hearing crying baby

Rescue crews scoured a hiking trail near Big Pines on Wednesday night after a hiker reported hearing a crying baby, but the search was called off after nothing was found.
A man called 911 about 7:50 p.m. and reported what he thought was a crying baby, said a lieutenant at the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Palmdale Station.
Rescue crews from the Los Angeles and San Bernardino fire departments, along with L.A. County Sheriff's Department personnel, arrived and began searching near Big Pines Highway and State Route 2, the lieutenant said. A helicopter also scoured the area with night-vision equipment.
The search ended about 12:30 a.m., the lieutenant said.

Then some wanna-be researcher blogs it and and BE gives it further undue credibility by posting it here? Okay, everyone needs to put down their pipes, take three steps back and check themselves into the nearest meth rehab site asap. Really truly, I pray that none of you are parents or anybody with any sort of position of responsibility.

  30. The Knower here:

For those that doubt, this method has been used before. I have a friend who will take his infant with him at night on expeditions. He says it brings the animals in much closer.

For those who are criticizing me, i say this. We are all in it for the knowledge, am i right. This new enlightner guy is making fun of me which is very sad. I have pictures of me with ol Roger and Bob. As ive said before i used to sell tobacco too the guys all the time. And Roger was the one who taught me how to ride side saddle. I was one of the few people allowed to call him ol Rog. I knew what was going on with the film before anyone, but i kept it a secret b/c they disposed of the suit. Now that its been found and examined, i can break my silence. It confirms with the video on 93 points. Its undeniably the real deal!!

I can confirm without a doubt that video and pictures will be released, but unfortunately the suit cant be physically examined. We are doing this out of respect for Bob, so please dont ask about seeing it. The video will be all you need, trust me.

  32. This is not uncommon as I've heard it before. Actually, many predators can mimic distress calls as well as other sounds.

Foxes are masters at the "crying baby" sound. It is freaky though. The first time I heard it was along a lease road about a mile into the woods. It was at around midnight and I suddenly heard a baby crying not 10 ft into the brush. The hair stood up on the back of my neck.

It was only momentary though as I knew it was a fox, trying to lure in prey.

    Courtney should know better.

  44. I doubt anyone will see this or believe me, but this sound of the baby crying just occurred tonight. I live in a farming region of Virginia and was up in the mountains moving things to our new house. We have had the house for quite some time. Living between the farm and a mountainous area my entire life, I'm well-acquainted with animal noises but admittedly no expert with particular noises that come from certain animals (like a bear in heat is rare to me, as is an agitated buck or doe).

As I was carrying a few things into the house I heard this noise far out in the woods. The audio offered in this post is total shit at capturing the exact sound. It was like nothing I've heard. I was so fucking confused and actually scared I went into the house and locked the door.

It was a straight up baby cry/whine/howl, almost as if a human baby was maybe in pain. There were notable Wah-WahWaaaaaaaaah noises followed by a choking sound (like a baby catching its breath before wailing again), but it became less human and more animal for several seconds at that point. I live a good mile and a half from neighbors separated by trees who are down the mountain from my home. This sound was coming from the left of my house but slowly led up into the state forest which borders the back of my property.

And it was as if this animal would travel a bit, make the noise, then travel some more. At one point as I was listening to it through the screen window it sounded extremely close by in the woods, but it moved up instead of over. Eventually the sounds completely stopped. I did remember during one wail it made, I heard what sounded like some other animal. I couldn't tell you what it sounded like though. The noise was different, and I'm sure the animal didn't make a noise that sounded like two animals at once with different simultaneous pitches.

Now, you all aren't going to believe me fully, because I didn't get proof. I wasn't planning on being there long since I just had to drop off a few things and get back so I'd have time to go to the grocery store (it's a 80 minute round trip), so I left my belongings including my phone in my truck. I don't know if I would have gotten a better recording that this guy. I should probably invest in a good audio recorder now that I'll be living in the woods with creepy demon spawn babies.

I am being honest though. I am very confused by what I heard, and I've been going through audio clips since I came home to find out what kind of animal this is. I clicked on this link out of pure amusement, and listening carefully, it sounded like what I heard though the quality is so bad.

Linking my Wordpress. I may update there if I find audio and/or leave a post here. I mainly use my wordpress for the stuff I write when I'm bored, so I'm sorry there's nothing interesting up. If anyone can give me info, any info, all jokes aside on what might have been out there or what else, I'd appreciate. Thank you if you read this.

    1. Heard the exact same cries in my freaking back yard last night around 9:30, and I live in North Mississippi, Tupelo area. It sounded like a normal Loud baby cry then a baby cry in pure terror then nothing. Scared the be-hesus out of me. Gave me chills for a couple of hours. I'm thinking bob-cat, and just like you, have been scouring the interwebs for the sound. Have found Fisher cat, bob Cat, or panther. Non of those make me feel any better. Also could be an owl or fox. Creepy as H none the less.
