Watch: Dr. Sykes Featured On The TODAY Show Talking About The Yeti And DNA

In the image above, Dr. Sykes demonstrates the immense size of a mandible or jaw bone that once belonged to a living animal, a Giganthopithecus, a species of large hominoids that dominated the Pleistocene of South China. One theory suggests that Bigfoots / Yetis are surviving relatives of the genus Giganthopithecus.

Watch Dr. Sykes on the Today show talk about how DNA will help prove whether the Yeti is a mythical creature or not.

  1. Hmmm... Not sure what to think about this. So Sykes says nothing about what they currently are doing? By the way hardy har har with at the end with the joking, and news lady at the end, please perform that motion on me!

  2. Wouldn't giganto's jaw make speech impossible ? We know gorillas can't speak but sasquatches apparantly do. To think in this day and age that bigfoot's anything but a hominin is quite frankly mad at this point, they'd been found ages ago otherwise so there's most definitely a government/scientific status quo cover-up going on. Sure hope Sykes is not in bed with the smithsonians.

    6. I've always been mad, I know I've been mad, like the most of us are. It's very hard to explain why you're mad, even if you're not mad.

    1. Sykes has no chance. The bigfoots CHOOSE Ketchum. They will not choose that real scientist. No picnics or tree structures for Syke.

You do not find bigfoot. Bigfoot finds you.

    2. Yeah, I guess Sykes won't be communing with a family of 5 at the Sunday afternoon picnics. Neither will he be getting that great footage she claims to have but won't show. He also won't be getting his horses hair braided. And he's definitely not going to be seeing stick stick structures made right in front of him.

Oh, and the last thing about this is Sykes definitely wont have ANYTHING he's associated with obtaining a Grade: "F" Rating.

Shew, he's got one helluva handicap to overcome just to get even with Ketchum.

  4. If a DNA paper on bigfoot is thrown in the bin but no one is tete to hear it, does it make a sound?

  5. Sally here.

Melba has offered to braid Sykes pubes just like she does mine.

  6. What was that monkey they showed a Macaque? It's interesting to note that analysis of the Denisovan finger bone is still on-going, and will still be giving up DNA secrets for several more years. Should Sykes and Ketchum find some totally new DNA, it's going to also be giving up secrets for many years, and will never really stop. Also interesting the Denisovans are most closely releated to the folks from Papua New Guinea.

    3. Right. Look at the crazy kid comment there above you, losers have hijacked the blog. I'm amazed this Shawn lets it slide.

    4. I have a feeling that Shawn is okay with it because the people who are posting the the “immature” comments are the same ones that are posting the funny comments and making this blog entertaining. Oh, and Anon 7:02 is right; If you don't like the company you should leave rather than hanging around bitching about it.

    1. Which, knowing Ketchum, is probability a literal bandwagon.

    2. Sykes obtained the same DNA results as Ketchum, thus the silence. You will not see Sykes write anything about bigfoot DNA, you will see him continue to distance himself and focus on peripheral issues. Bank on it.
