Robert Lindsay: 85 of over 200 samples sent to Dr. Ketchum came from Olympic Project

A photo of a Bigfoot looking at a camera on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington state. This is apparently the first photo of a DNA-proven Bigfoot ever released.

The game cameras setup to track Bigfoot by Derek Randles and his team in Washington seems to be working really well. Robert Lindsay just reported that a majority of the samples submitted by the Olympic Project tested presumptive for Bigfoot DNA.

Critics like to laughed at the Olympic Project’s photo of Bigfoot allegedly licking a game camera, but it looks like Randles may be getting the last laugh if his samples help prove the existence of Bigfoot.

From Robert Lindsay's Bigfoot News September 14, 2012 update:

Olympic Project successful submissions to Dr. Melba Ketchum DNA project revealed. A source has informed me that the Olympic Project submitted ~103 hair samples to Ketchum’s project, and ~85 of them tested presumptive to Bigfoot by DNA. Another ~18 Olympic Project hair samples were apparently from either humans or known animals. Those 85 successful submissions represent anywhere from 5-13 separate creatures.

Apparently all of the hair was gathered in the Olympic Peninsula of Washington state. This makes the Olympic Project the largest submitter to the project.

Updated list of successful samples to Ketchum Project. Here it is:

Rundown of samples in the Ketchum study. This will be updated every time it changes.

Bigfoot samples submitted: Over 200
Presumptive for Bigfoot: Almost 100
# of Bigfoot individuals represented: 20-28

Details of successful Bigfoot samples:

5 hair samples from Golden Ears Provincial Park in British Columbia representing 3 separate creatures – a male, a female and a juvenile from a family unit who were observed together prior to collecting the samples – gathered in 2010 by Randy Brisson of the Erickson Project.

1 toenail from Larry Jenkins in the Grand Canyon area of Arizona.

1 blood sample from JC Johnson in the Four Corners area of New Mexico (skunk in a drainpipe sample).

1 blood and tissue sample of a female Bigfoot representing either “Matilda” or her mother from Crittenden, Kentucky, gathered by the Dennis Pfohl and Leila Hadj-Chikh of the Erickson Project. Sample was obtained by gluing glass shards on a feeding plate.

1 hair sample from David Paulides’ NABS known as the Ulibarri sample from Hoopa Valley, California.

1 hair sample from Larry Surface in Southern Ohio. Surface shot the controversial nighttime Bigfoot video that was pulled from the web a while back.

1 hair sample (possible Dogman) from Joe Black in the Great Smoky Mountains, Eastern Tennessee.

1 tissue (flesh including muscle and fat) sample in the form of a slice of Bigfoot flesh from Mount Haskell, California from the adult male Bigfoot shot dead on October 10, 2010 by Justin Smeja in the Sierra Kills incident.

1 large sample of saliva from the Olympic Peninsula, Washington, collected by the Olympic Project obtained via a Bigfoot licking a trail camera.

1 hair sample from SE Oklahoma collected by TEXLA Cryptozoological Research.

1 blood, tissue and hair sample from a nailboard trap at Snelgrove Lake, Ontario, Canada (presumably successful).

~85 hair samples from the Olympic Peninsula, Washington, collected by the Olympic Project representing 5-13 separate individuals.

That is apparently all or nearly all of the nearly 100 successful Bigfoot samples. The other 100 samples are all apparently from either humans or known animals.

Best Bigfoot samples: Smeja’s Bigfoot steak and JC Johnson’s skunk in a drainpipe Bigfoot blood sample.

  1. Who needs DNA when you have such an amazingly unambiguous trail cam photo (like the one above)?

  2. Fantastic numbers! I was wondering why only the DNA sample from Dr Jeff Meldrum was marked "presumably successful"? I am from Idaho and am very proud that Dr Meldrum, who in my opinion will be one of the scientists/outdoorsmen who will be credited with proving the existence of Bigfoot, is so certain of the existence, that he spends most of his free time searching all over the world. We should all be thankful to him for ensuring that this remain a serious subject, not one to be laughed at.
For anyone not familiar with the Snelgrove Lake investigation, it is shown on MonsterQuest, I believe and the reruns are shown on History Channel as well as H2. On one night during this investigation, the team had rocks thrown at them from the dark forest, just beyond the lit area near the cabin. This caused some uneasy feelings and it was all captured on film. It is certainly a great episode you don't want to miss.
One thing I am so angry at is this Justin Smeja. You see Mr Smeja, It doesn't take MURDER to get evidence. You didn't need to kill the male and juvenile bigfoot to get your 'steak'. It makes me SICK to think of what you did. No wonder they don't want to be found when there are stupid freaks out there with guns. Sure, we all want to know, do they exist, but OUR RIGHT TO KNOW DOES NOT GO ABOVE MURDER. If, in fact it is found that they are some part human, I want a warrant issued for Mr Smeja and have him charged with 2 counts of first degree murder.....laugh at me if you will, but nobody has needed to needlessly shoot one of these wonderful creatures in order to prove their existance. Mr Smeja is a coward and he needs to pay for his crime. I would like to know what Dr Meldrum thinks about this disgusting act. Mr Smeja, you will never be the person credited with positively identifying Bigfoot as a real living being. The people that have spent many years trying to lawfully and morally make this discovery will get the credit. You have done nothing to help the cause.
I would like to know if any of the evidence that is listed WITH the Snelgrove Lake evidence has also been verified as positive.
Thank you Dr Meldrum, from a fellow Idahoan!! and thank you to the other long time researchers that have morally obtained evidence, spending so many hundreds of hours out in the woods, forests, swamps, river bottoms and all other, out of the way places you all have spent so many days and nights. It does not go unnoticed.

    2. He is a hero, and when you speak of the Snelgrove attack if I was there with a weapon I would have killed that BigFoot for its actions towards me. BigFoot is not your friend,it is a wild witty animal who would possibly kill or harm anyone in its territory. BigFoot is a thief, stalker, & intimidating savage that can't be trusted. All you tree hugging idiots need to realize that this animal is dangerous and deadly. You should always be cautious when out in the woods, and be prepared to kill anything that seems to be threatening.

    17. Snelgrove Lake….If I’m not mistaken, didn’t the owner, as well as Meldrum claim that the cabin is “a world away” from the nearest town? That the only way anyone can get to it is by plane? The pilot {Monsterquest} said there was a large town 200 miles away by air.
The truth is that a village of over 200 people is less than 9 miles away from the cottage in question. So which one is it?

If these guys are exaggerating in order to sell a story because they have an agenda, how do they still have credit? It tells me that nothing they say is believable! There is zero room for embellishment, when you’re a so-called “Doctor” who claims to be after the truth.

Meldrum got caught out their on more then one occasion but the kool aid drinkers don’t want to hear it. Its probably because that once he gets taken out of the picture, there’s not too many PhDs that will touch this topic! Forget about leading the charge! Theirs no question that he’s the Monsters most important supporter and many feel that research would be at a loss without him.

Regrettably, he’s not the trailblazer you think he is. What I believe had happened was that at one time, Meldrum went into this thing with good intentions and the utmost sincerity. He’s a person who wanted to believe in something and like many before him, he may have been a tad more gullible or naive then most. No crime their, however one of his earliest mistakes was by wrongfully believing that science couldn’t be duped. His rule of thumb was to find a mid tarsal break. He believed that this couldn’t be hoaxed. Years later it was shown that it can be mimicked. It was those shortcomings that let Meldrum make some of the worst mistakes he could make. Not only did he endorse and validate “evidence” that could have been manufactured, but he never left himself a backdoor.

I suspect that Meldrum got hit with the reality of it all around the time “Legend meets Science” was produced. When I say reality I mean truth. His name within this field was at an all time high due to his credentials. Shortly after this, somewhere, somehow, he had been given access to things most of us will never know or see. He would finally meet those who would let him in on a little secret. In short, he was able to look behind the curtain.

Realizing by this time he had painted himself into a corner. Meldrum, who at one time was willing to sacrifice his name and career for the good of science, was now left with no choice but to ride this facade out till the grave.
Same goes for many researchers. They have to keep the charade up and running regardless of what the truth might be. Its called self preservation. Americas work force does it on a daily basis. Co-workers suppress truths and throw each other under the bus all the time to save their own ass. The difference is that Meldrum does it to the die-hard believers, They hang on to his every word whenever he speaks at a lunch club meeting or on a BF documentary. He knows the truth but he’s in way to deep. Meldrum must keep it going for the good of Meldrum.

Another reason he continues to endorse a perpetual fantasy might be because he owes you nothing! Or it could very well be the legend of brain washed loyalist that pay $24.99 for his latest ramblings that prevent us from “getting to the truth”.

      Delete
    18. Silly idea. You make it sound like there is a secret cabal of footers who have the "proof" that bigfoot is a no-go and when you become famous enough they tell you this unpleasant truth and make sure you can be trusted to maintain the illusion. WTF?

      Delete
    19. Something like that but why is it silly? I didn’t put the links up but I did find 4 separate incidences where Meldrum was involved in some grimy stuff.
Not everyone is in on it. Maybe only a hand full of people. Moneymaker is most likely dirty and strings along his little crew. Is it that hard to picture MM leaving Bobo in the dark?
I notice something about the believers of Bigfoot. They are the most gullible punching bags in the world. They constantly get hit in the face with a pie and come right back for more. They never tire from getting burnt.
Coleman’s had plenty of accusations tossed his way through the years and I’m not even gonna mention T B.
I don’t think Meldrum started off like that. I think his statues got him into places more then 99.99% of the average BF researchers will ever go. He has networked with anybody who is a somebody in BF research. At one point, somebody was gonna talk.
For some this is a livelihood and a business and please don’t throw that tired line of “theirs no money to be made” because that’s a load of shit.
If they come clean, this websites will go down one fell swoop. Not to mention all of the documentaries, the radio shows, the Bfro expeditions, all BF expeditions. I didn’t say this was making people rich but it is keeping some from people off of the cheese line.

Did you read what I wrote about the cabin on MonsterQuest? Tell me why a bunch of punks wasn’t responsible for that? Better yet a bear?

    20. If sasquatch are proven to exist, they will unfortunately be hunted down and exterminated by hunters/poachers within the next ten years. They will become extinct. Big game hunters will ignore Africa, etc., for a challenge.
Bigfoot will become a trophy hunters greatest prize!

Particularly if it is proven that they are dangerous and/or responsible for ANY disappearances involving hikers/campers whatsoever.
This is sad and disturbing but
many fearful people may support this action.
I hope (and pray) I am wrong. They will be hunted even if protection laws are passed.
I hope Melba can save them all!

      Delete
    21. One more thing. A pattern I noticed in the BF community is that every so often someone gets singled out and made the scapegoat. Its a tool that is used by the bigger names in Bigfoot. It works like this…find the most eccentric personality that is drumming up a little attention on the internet and blast them. They get called every negative thing you can think of. Liars, con artist even deranged because their story might seem far fetched or outside the norm. In defense, the person {like clockwork} always retaliates the best they can. The big finale comes once the ringleaders bring out the big guns! The poor person who had no idea what they were getting into when they made their initial claim soon get labeled as having a “MENTAL ILLNESS!” Not long after the trolls and vultures pick at the carcass. True to the ass kissing robots that they all are,all chime in and drive that person into obscurity.
The icing on the cake and what has to be the most hypocritical part of all this is the grounds on which these attacks are made….“LACK OF EVIDENCE”.
Yet Meldrum who had 2 encounters, Moneymaker who had several, Biscardi who had like 6 ,David Sealy like 10. Yet nobody has any real proof or photos! To many, Janice Carter is a sick bitch because she didn’t get the money shot but in the same breath they will say Moneymaker deserves a television show? And you say that nothings going on?

Then they take the differential genes and say that is a bigfoot because they all have a common denominator that matches. i guess the dogman didn't fit in the grand scheme of bigfoot so now what else could it be. a dogman.

    3. It is certainly reasonable to think that if long sequences from multiple individuals are consistent with each other yet different from those of known species then an argument can be made that there is an undiscovered animal about.
It might not be that simple, though. I am not sure. However, I would bet good money that provenance and chain of custody would be of paramount importance in such a case.

The esteemed Mr. Lindsay simply reports what he is told by others. He makes no guarantees. He is also known for his honesty so it is quite clear that you can't question the fact that he was indeed told the things he reports.

It is also extremely interesting the Ketchum camp now attempts to leak false information to attempt to discredit him. This action in and of itself shows the Ketchum camp views him as very credible- hence this action.

Perhaps you should go back and research all the news that Robert Lindsay was dead on correct about and make a list of that.

  18. Hello to All. I apologize if my questions come off annoying or if they have already been answered but I’m a little late to the party and I’m trying to play catch up.

I read about Dr Melbas involvement with the Bigfoot creature and her attempt to verify the species through DNA.

    My questions are these.

1.Can DNA results be tampered with?

2.Is it possible to show results that claim these creatures exist, even if they don’t?

3.What does positive DNA bring to the table? Will the world of science really take notice?

4.After all is said and done and the results are in, could it sill be recognized and categorized as a living breathing species without access to a cadaver?

5.Will academics be sold on DNA alone?

What is the more cucial when trying to convince science of the species exsistence... A positive DNA sequence or a cadaver/carcass?

I spoke to an old friend I haven’t seen in years. I would have brought this entire Melba situation up if I had known about it at the time. He is a curator at the New York Museum of Natural History. Unfortunately the BF topic doesn’t interest him. However he did say something that I found very interesting, it was something I never heard before. Remember its just an opinion.

    He said that this {not word for word but just the gist of it}
The Bigfoot craze became huge after that film came out. {referring to Patterson} Till this day, nobody has been able to drag one of these things into the autopsy room. Its possible, but highly unlikely that these things avoided detection and capture for so long. Especially on American soil. If you watch the researchers and believers.. most feel that all we need is a body to get closure on this topic. All we need is one body to rock the world, change the evolution model and rewrite the textbooks. Many feel that the body will end all skepticism!
Unfortunately that’s not how its going to go down. Lets say that someone hits one of these things with a car. No big brother cover-up, no disinformation nonsense, no carting off the body to an Air Force hanger. Just straight up road kill by way of an accident. Involvement from local police, the coroners office as well as a bunch of local veterinarians who have to get out of their bed at 2AM in the morning. Most likely, Hazmat and Disease control would be invited to the party as well.
So after all is done, no matter what the photos, videos, autopsy reports and DNA results tell us…science will automatically classify the subject as an isolated existence until proven otherwise. It will not be recognized as an actual spices until proof of a populace is brought forth. For all anyone knows, what they have in front of them is nothing more then a freak of nature, a mistake, an abnormality. In order for the subject to get any type of actual recognition and attention, one would need to bring the second subject in. Doing this would bring undeniable proof of a succession. That’s how its done. The first one will only stir an interest, the second one is the selling point.
In other words its back to the drawing board. Discouraging isn’t it?
Your answers to the DNA questions would be much appreciated. Thank You Ray

    1. Yes, they need a token male AND female specimen.

    2. well that freak of nature HAVE to had parents.. also, what if they managed to capture video of THE FREAK'S parents?? would that be enough to get recognition??

    3. 4)Dna studies are comparative. No one has "discovered" a species by dna alone, let alone name one. Google "plos one primate dna" and look for the March 2011 article published by that online journal; long sequences of multiple species were obtained in order to better understand phylogenetic relationships. The authors mention they still could not decide with certainty the genus of some lemur monkey for which the issue is apparently under debate.
You can google "plos one new monkey" and find the article where that funny looking critter we learned about this week is named;its dna was compared to that of members of its proposed genus to bolster the claim based on morphology that it was indeed a separate species.
In short, even when they have the dna AND the body declaring a new species and properly classifying it is a non-trivial task. So, if you just have dna that is "close" to "this" or "that" here is what the community will say: 'it most likely IS "this" or "that".'

    4. These new online journals and the online versions of the older ones are good landing spots for these dna papers: you can download the sequences.

  19. Robert Lindsay

The man who just love to see his own name in the headlines, but also a man who talks a lot about all of his knowledge/evidence and information about bigfoot, but never shows it to the public.

And why is that? Well simply because there is nothing to it.

Robert, prove you are not just a hoaxer, or start shutting the fuck up.

    Thank you!

  21. That's not a piece of photographic evidence, that's a "damn, the photo didn't turn out!" I can't believe they'd even release it to the public.
