Alex Hearn's Thoughts On Justin Smeja And Bart Cutino

Arizona Bigfoot researcher Alex Hearn had Justin Smeja and Bart Cutino on his radio show to talk about the Sierra Kills a few weeks ago (prior to Justin's polygraph examination). For those still trying to figure out if there are anymore "holes" in the story-- in the following post, Alex states his opinion and added links to the August 1st radio show:

My response to some negative comments and feelings expressed by the Bigfoot Habituation Community, or as I like to call them the Campfire people~you know the people that think Bigfoot comes and sits at the campfire and talks to them???????

We had Justin and Bart on back on Aug 1st, prior to the LDT.

If you believe the main part of the story, then any holes that follow are understandable. I'm not saying I believe his story, because I wasn't there when he pulled the trigger.

The show was an EXTRA edition and ran 2 hours and 20mins. There was time there to get to know both Justin and Bart a little personally and then get into the subject at hand

Justin and Bart were both personable and polite guests.

Justin did clarify the fact that he wasn't in his eyes at least, "bear pouching" at that time. Which I felt was unclear until that point. However I fail to ask if he normally follows the POST KILL procedure that the state of CA requires? I looked it up, there are some requirements after the kill if you think you shoot a bear. Those requirements recently changed too, possibly after the incident in 2011.

I would think even if you shoot something else besides a Black Bear you would need to follow this procedure since you are bear hunting. I think that may need some clarification.

In our interview with Justin and Bart it was announced that they have now begun the process of submitting the sample to other labs. They are still hopeful for a positive outcome from the Melba Ketchum Bigfoot Genome Study, but wanted to also have a 2nd (or more) opinion (s).

Bart explained that they have a new website and will be documenting the procedure from start to finish. As they do they will make the whole process available for the public (US) to witness. I believe he said that they are going to submit the sample to at least two more labs.

The show is in two segments since we had some Tech problems at the start with Blogtalk.

Also it's pertinent to note that Justin claims to be very remorseful for what he allegedly has done. Unlike some of the other people in the Bigfoot world (Biscardi, Dyer, etc) he does not preach that we should be killing this creature. Quite the opposite. I think you would have to classify Justin as a No-Kill person now.

His story (If true) goes a long way in showing that these creatures should not be harmed. The emotion and trauma that he explains the smaller ones were exhibiting is quite heart wrenching. Unfortunately not enough to keep him from shooting at that time. At that time the need for the kill or the trophy drove him on. It's hard to believe, but quite Ironic if true that he was too afraid after he did it to take his trophy home?

Where are the holes? You have to decide that for your self. Is the hole story a lie and thus a hoax? Is Justin being 100% truthful? If the story has any truth to it, it's probably somewhere in between. The holes meant to keep us from knowing some of the details. Reasons? Simply to keep Justin out of the legal ramifications that might follow or even just to preserve the investigation for those actually doing it, as the BFRO normally does

Part 1: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/liveparanormal/2012/08/02/the-crypto-zoo-on-wwwliveparanormalcom

Part 2: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/liveparanormal/2012/08/02/the-crypto-zoo-on-wwwliveparanormalcom-1

Lie detectors are fallible and can even be beat by people that can control their emotions. I've have always felt that I could beat one, I'm sure most feel that way, except for the guilty it's a different story then. Justin does not seem like the type of person that could beat the test on his own. However with the help of a sedative, anyone can. Polygraphs when conducted for Court/Legal purposes by the state also include a drug screening, I'm very doubtful this was done at the time of this LDT. So I don't think you can say it's a viable test.

However you can listen to Justin and Bart talk with Jeff and I for 2+ hours, then make your own decisions as to what kind of people they are.

Best Wishes,
Alex Hearn

I also don't think enough people understood the announcement that was made by Bart.

Hey, what does so and so researcher have to say about Smeja or MK... Lets hear their take on very same damn 'bottle thrown, or if their was sorrow. What a bunch of crap it all is.

  2. It sounds like Alex is in the same camp as I am. I mean we could both be wrong and maybe Justin did indeed leave the bodies like he said and didn't attempt to retrieve them until much later. However, like Alex there's an unshakable belief that that Justin did take a body.

In summary, and I've said this before: the meat and potatoes of the story is true; he did shoot 2 bipedal subjects that day.

The rest of the story (what truly happened to the bodies after) still lingers on, at least to me.

    2. This show was kinda overlooked imo, but I was very impressed by this interview with Bart and Justin for that matter.

This was where Bart made long announcement that him, Tyler w Smeja have all evidence in 1 or 2 independent North Am. labs currently so its unbiased. this was all based on there distrust of kethcum and they claimed they'll be releasing everything when complete regardless of results. i heard sincerity and you can't argue what they said honestly about ketchum based on her behavior .....though they hope she succeeds. you can tell though they do not like her at all!

I'll be impressed if they follow through

Smeja also talked at length about hunting with the host and obviously is no rookie as some have suggested.

    5. @ 4:54, At the end of the polygraph vid, Justin was saying how much of a relief to pass and now Bart et al can now truly believe him. You would think if he had a body those guys would have seen it by now.

    6. The doc should be fun no matter how this turns out: I imagine it will be an investigation of the claims rather then a propaganda piece trying to prove the claims are true. That is not possible, since there is no body to display. t is unlikely a body will be found which could provide a DNA sample to compare Justin's to between now and Dec.

    7. Good catch Anon 5:06! I saw that too and it told me that Justin believes or knows Bart is or was not 100% convinced...though he makes that clear when asked. What I like is that unlike DR. Melba, Bart & his partner on this make absolutely no guarantees on evidence. that alone is refreshing

  3. This whole kills thing surely is a hoax. No one blowing away Sasquatch babies will live to tell the story, if these creatures are real and behave according to many reports. The shooter would be shredded, not doing the interview circuit.

The whole kills thing is disgusting since the story is the creatures weren't threatening. Why kill them? It seems to be one long stretched-out hoax. The end result will probably be equivalent to the stupid costume-in-the-box in Palo Alto.

Why is anyone talking about this anymore? And if this person did shoot these creatures, including a baby or 'child', why would anyone give him the time of day?

    1. Which is it Zorro? You can't have it both ways, you call it a hoax but then go on as if your mad about what Smeja did? if true, should they waste the opportunity and every investigator should leave it alone? That's crazy and I think B Cutina has handled his role responsibly thus far.

I really like what I heard in this interview as it sounds like someone's finally taken the bull by the horns and we're going to get some type of results. I lost faith in Melba Ketchum a long time ago.

      Delete
    2. Zorro,

How do you know what would happen if someone did shoot a juvenile in front of a Sasquatch?

Second, you haven't even read or listened to the interview anyway. If you had then you'd know the only adult around was shot and dropped first. Then the juvenile was taken. You should get up to speed with the entire happenings before you post if you expect to engage in a conversation regarding the incident.

Have an opinion based on the facts by all means! but when you can't even get the details straight (at least smeja has) how do you begin to even have a discussion about it? people don't want to listen and read, they just think everyone wants and can't wait hear them talk

    2. Bart told me whole deal, Justin was surprised as he thought the polygraph coming soon was cancelled. Even Ro apparently didn't know it was happening that morning until the examiner called him back and said she could do it. Cutino wrote and passed on questions to Ro night before thinking it was just rough draft and there was time to add subtract questions. Coincidentally, Justin was in Ro's custody 24 hrs before and after test. There was no opportunity to coach or prepare Justin as that's how it went down. Cutino found out about poly after it was complete

    # 1 if lie detectors so inconsistent and everyone could
beat one, why do they use them,

    # 2 why would you have to be certified to use one if anyone could beat then anyone could administer one,
why, because it doesn't matter if you do it wrong or right because the person probably just beat it.

    # 3 it's a lose loose for the person taking it, if the fail their full of shit, if they pass, the machine don't work and their still full of shit.

Then you have keyboard, blogtalk radio, blog, """BIGFOOT SUPER BETTER THAN ANYONE ON THE PLANET EXPERT""" saying, without even an idea how to turn the equipment on, never mind understand the test and how to correctly administer it, Say the the person who has 10 years experience, with over 800 test administered, with out ONE piece of evidence saying that she messed up other test, Then they the stupidity to say she did it wrong, Alex Hern you sir,

He said the only things they won't share until lab determinations are made is lab names and testing updates. Makes perfect sense. After that they are releasing everything for free to public even emails back and forth with labs. If hey follow through what can you possibly complain about? They only started a few months ago

cutino said on show that they only got going recently and thoroughly explained what they're doing and what they are going to do to share including releasing all emails. if he's being sincere those emails (believe it when I see it) will have dates on them so we'll know in hindsight exactly how much time it took and if it was necessary.

i think it's good what they are doing as the alternative (bart mentioned on show) was everyone waiting for melba ketchum. that could be never!!! if you listened to the show, you'd know these guys, even smeja, never wanted testing with ketchum. bart went on clarifying their intentions for about 10 minutes on this show. worth a listen

  15. If there is a body I think it stands to reason that it will remain hidden until the results of the DNA are released.
