Justin Smeja's video interview with Ro Sahebi is described as "the interview of the century" by Robert Lindsay. For some people, being able to watch Justin describe the Sierra Kills event on video was all they needed to be convinced that the shooting of two Bigfoots really happened. For others, the interview revealed even more "holes" in his story. Team Tazer Bigfoot's Michael Merchant is one of those people and he has a lot of problems with Justin's story.

ReplyDeleteThese podcasts don't do much for me, maybe it is a case of technology not being able to resolve the audio in these diatribes very well all I know is they are a aural mess and far from pleasant to listen to, maybe a transcription would help but then again that would be a labour intensive job which does not go hand in hand with the amateur status of these videos.

he didn't know anything about his gun, his ammo, didn't know if it was full metal jacket or hollow points? and says he's not a gun guy? what hunter doesn't know what ammo he's shooting? He didn't even mention the calibre? FAIL. Guy is a liar.
ReplyDeleteGreat points I thought the exact same thing except.....could it be that Smeja weirded out about the ammo questions so he couldnt be tied to a murder? He's ground the proverbial ax about his 25.06 but would obviously as a hunter have preferred ammo vendor/load/bullet weight.

DeleteWell said Timmy. I've got to point out, however that his ammo story is not far fetched at all. I own a 25-06 built on a Remington model 700 that has killed many deer with one shot. These are big North Missouri Whitetails. I couldn't tell you the bullet weight on any of my 26-06 cartridges ... because my Marine Corps sniper brother hand loads them for me as a hobby. He can tell you down to the grain what goes into them. All I know is that I can't buy anything even close to his loads. Who knows where he gets his? Certainty not I... nor, I suspect you. There are a lot of things about his story that don't ring true to me... but his weapon isn't one of them.

Since when does it take time to continue holding something you're already holding? And what about the time used to sit and stare?
Did I hear him say 300 deer? And he is 26? State of California allows 2 deer tags a year per hunter, minimum age of 12. My math says 28 deer is most he could have legally taken. He must be hitting every other state and all of Canada to achieve 300 deer. Considering most hunting seasons are in the fall, and rifle seasons are very short, I'd say Justin is stretching the truth a little lol. What else is he lying about?

DeleteHe definitely shot 2 things that day. I don't get why people are saying his contradicting himself. People saying, He doesn't even know what grain bullet he uses, he said he didn't go to the range but then says he did blah blah blah.
DeleteIts not uncommon for people who hunt not to have their ammunition memorized from the jacket to the grain. Also, whenever he was talking about the range. What he meant was that he's not at the range all the time testing out different types of ammunition to see which performs better. People who do that (go all the time) most likely would know details like those. However, if you just go buy some ammunition for your gun and then go to the range to site it in, you most likely won't care what grain ammunition you're using.
Basically SWP is reaching for something that isn't there. Oh, and his laugh is the most weird, gay and unmanliest thing I've ever heard.
I agree the grain and weight of bullet was a silly line of questioning. As I said above I'm pretty sure at the beginning of the interview he says he's never been to a shooting range, then that changes to he goes once a year. That is a contradiction, capeche? These small contradictions were throuhgout the interview. If he cant get little details like this correct why believe him about the larger picture. When asked about the layout of the land and position of the subjects he says." I don't know man". What do you mean you don't know.

DeleteFor the record, he didn't say: "he's NEVER been to a shooting range" either. What he said was that you'll never see him at one. Of course people are going to try and twist that around to make it sound like he's lying about ever going to one. However, they're missing the basic point of what he was trying to expound on and that is that he's not so wrapped up in ammunition, velocities, grain weight etc etc to be visiting a range all the time and knowing that information verbatim.
People seriously need to stop reaching and hanging on EVERY little word or phrase. In every interview so far the meat of the story has been consistent. I have yet to hear ANYTHING that makes me think oh, he's changing the story.
