Just Two Rules In The Comments Section

We don't have rules when it comes to commenting on articles, but if we had rules, it would be the following:

  1. No profanity. Children read this blog, and we don't want their parents to see people throwing f-bombs and s-bombs.
  2. No trolling. Going onto a Bigfoot blog and the first comment you write on an article stating that there is no Bigfoot is like going to an iPhone forum and writing "Apple sucks".
  3. Everyone has to watch the following video to see how trolls operate on the internet.

  1. We can't even pick on timmy? That bozo is Troll numero uno!

    1. I dont typically use profanity, dont attack personally....but I adamantly deny Bigfoots existence. So, once again, this makes me bad or a troll somehow? Cant you people even logically defend your beliefs w/o feeling like its a personal attack?
BTW not every idiotic poster that claims to be me, actually is. You can always tell though......

      Delete
    2. No, you denigrate people. Routinely. You did in this post - "Not every idiotic poster" - of course they are idiots, they are not YOU. You did in the Oklahoma convention article just posted - you had to be first and you had to put down "bleevers" as you trolls call it; a word with negative connotation written all over. There is nothing in that article about a singular case to review - you insulted the people.

You are the center of the universe; the sun revolves around you. Only your opinion counts. You say it, so it MUST be true. There is a psychological disorder that fits this description.

You are not a skeptic - skeptics want truth, they don't feel superior and they don't need to elevate themselves by tearing others down. You are not a skeptic, but you very likely mentally ill.

      Delete
    3. Actually, to be more accurate, Timmy only denigrated (idiotic poster) people that pretend to be him, which seems to be fair enough. He didn't say all posters were idiotic, he didn't even say believers were idiotic. Just the guys that are Timmy impostors.

      Delete
    4. Anon 1:57. "...you had to put down "bleevers" as you trolls call it; a word with negative connotation written all over..."

Er... but your use of "troll" was not negative? :o/

      Delete
    5. Anon 2:28: I was speaking of all his posts, citing more than one example as proof of repeat behavior. Example cited were (1) the one above where he says he doesn't put down others then proceeds to put down others AND (2) the Oklahoma convention article where he puts down locals and believers - there was no poster impersonating him there, he made the 1st post in the comments section. There are many other examples. Pick an article and it will almost certainly contain a post from Timmy putting down those who do not follow the Doctrine of Timmy (an apparently flawless human who has no problem citing the flaws of others).

I have no issue with him not believing bigfoot exists - most people don't and many people even after alleged sightings still can't believe what they saw. This is legitimate. But it's not enough for him - actually I don't even think that's relevant - he just likes to put down others who do not believe as he does. That I have a problem with because that is not a characteristic of a skeptic - it's misleading and it's destructive. And it's an insult to true skeptics. Skeptics seek the truth; we don't use knowledge as a weapon. We should be working together to seek the truth, not creating divisions. That makes good sense - it works in business, in research, and other arenas.

So your point is not valid - you took my comment out of context presenting 1 example in a set as the entire argument.

Anon 2:37 PM: you are correct - my use of troll was negative. Apologies to all humans who enjoy putting down others for whatever pleasure it arouses in you. It doesn't change the fact that Timmy denigrates others routinely and is not a true skeptic. But given the cult of personality this arena draws I'm sure his fanbase will rally support.

I believe I'm fighting a fairly hopeless battle as there is no mental or psychological test to pass to keep the Timmys of the world from posting on the web.

      Delete
    6. If the Timmys of the world don't think there is a sasquatch species there's no need for that kind of skepticism here, we got it the first time so no reason for trolls to stick around sites they're not welcome. Nobody needs to visit blogs they think represent a fantasy, to still do it means you're not very smart and probably secretly agree with the rest of us. That's what often defines a troll as a person whose world's been rocked with disbelief and afraid to speak his true mind because no one here surely thinks they mean anything they write.

As for th profanity, even if select words were filtered out, words are just words. An F-bomb is no where near as bad as what could be put together without using filtered words for the purpose of harassment or some raunchy sexual innuendo. +1 for having such rules put in place.

    8. Coming on HERE and saying "Bigfoot does not exist!" most definitely is being a troll. It is said to start a bunch of unnecessary drama. That is not a skeptical view, that if an atheistic declaration designed to incite hostility.

Stating "Bigfoot does not exist, and here is why...." is NOT being a troll. They are opening up dialog and many who actually do this use their actual accounts. Trolls almost always go with "Anonymous". Or they make a malicious account to represent someone real, like this Jackass--->("SallyWednesday, July 11, 2012 1:44:00 PM PDT
Sally here, are you talking about me or Melba?")

      Delete
    9. The only reason I think bigfoot does not exist is because there is no conclusive evidence to show it does. I still disagree. Saying BF does not exist is not trolling.Maybe some say it to start a bunfight but I say it for the above reason and nothing else. It doesn't need to be more complex than that. The question isn't 'why don't I beleive in BF?' It's 'why do some people beleive in BF?'. I have come here to explore that. Sadly blogs are very poor conduits for meaningful communication when compared to actual face to face comms and I think this is why a lot of bitching goes on. Emoticons etc just don't cut it.

    10. its very telling that a religious metaphor has been used. That is about faith and not about science.

What about the man who goes into church and says 'why do you beleive in this God guy?'.

    11. Well you may be the exception then Gareth, most trolls are anons. But seriously, it makes little sense to come to a Bigfoot blog and yell fake or hoax and call bigfooters stupid names just to make trouble. Those fools could easily be blocked I suppose.

      Delete
    12. OK but a lot of stuff is fake and hoax. so banning people saying that would be a bit extreme and not really in the spirit of a forum for ideas. Calling Bigfooters stupid names is just a stupid thing to do. I may not beleive in BF but at some levels I am a bigfooter. I think it is a sad reflection of our species that we can't have debates withough cussing each other out. I am not offended by BF beleivers. I would love to sit and chew it over with them and an oat soda. I have a deep and abiding love of the US wilderness in a romantic way, thjat maybe only someone who doesn't have access to it could have. the BF mystery really reflects that wilderness. The deep dark forest. You guys are lucky to live in such a breathtaking landscape.

What about the man who goes into church and says 'why do you beleive in this God guy?'."

When I called them Bigfoot atheists, it was not a metaphor. It is indeed what they are. Okay a skeptic takes more of an agnostic approach. They do not think that bigfoot exists, but for the most part the keep an open mind about it. They will come on here and state as to why they do not think bigfoot exists.

Many of the trolls are convinced that Bigfoot does not exist and have no problem in calling those who believe, or even those who are open "idiots". Then the other group of trolls truly could care less they are in it to cause drama.

As for no "conclusive evidence", this is my problem with modern science. The evidence is VERY conclusive on the sub level. Take DNA for instance. You will have skeptics and trolls stating "without a body DNA proves nothing." while at the same time saying "If something was out there we would have found it by now." read between the lines and the DNA does prove that "something" is indeed out there that we have not found. Skeptics will say "Tracks can be faked." And yes to the untrained eye, they can be. But not to an expert tracker who not only sees the tracks, but is looking for height and weight within the track based on the impression and how the weight is distributed as the bones of the foot move in the step. Your average hiker sees a hole in the ground shaped like a foot. A tracker sees a "Who what when where why and how" story.

All the pieces of the puzzle are present, but Science as a whole is not even trying to put them together.

It won't work. I rarely visit this blog now, as it's become a cesspool. I'm all for blowing off some steam, but there's some genuine hate displayed by the commentators here that has gotten Bigfoot Evidence a bad name. Until anonymous comments are done away with (yeah, I get the irony that of they weren't allowed, I wouldn't be making this comment) and some moderation is introduced, things will just stay the same.

  13. Foul Language from Bigfoot Believers makes all believers appear to be uneducated rednecks, an unfortunate and untrue stereotype. And foul language from Non-Believers makes all non believers appear haughty and self-righteous, also not true across the board. 25. Seriously Shawn? You don't want to play fair anymore?
I came here because I wanted to hear about Ketchum's paper and what do I see but nonstop attacks on mainstream science. Footers continuously slinging insults. Calling people “flat earthers”, “closed minded”, “closet believers”, saying that anyone who didn't believe in Bigfoot was an idiot or a sheep. Making outrageous statement after outrageous statement without any proof at all (lying).
I've said it before and I'll say it again: if you footers really cared about finding Bigfoot you’d be in the woods not on the internet trying to talk yourself up a Bigfoot. This whole site is about you footers attacking other people to try to make yourselves feel smart. And like the true bullies that you are, when your pigeons (trolls) come home to roost you wine and cry to mommy (Shawn) and try to play victim. You footers aren’t the victims, you're getting your comeuppance for lying to and insulting reasonable people. You have earned every one of these “trolls”.
You had every right to go out into the woods and search for Bigfoot or leprechauns or whatever. You have absolutely no right to tell people to believe in something if you have no evidence. You have absolutely no right to demand that people accept your bullshit unquestioningly. You have absolutely no right to hoax people by telling them to believe in the Patterson film. And you definitely don't have a right to insult people who don't believe in Bigfoot.
People who don't believe in Bigfoot aren’t “closed minded” or “flat earthers”. They are people who make their decisions based upon credible evidence.
If you don't believe me look at the blog. If goes back quite a while. You can see for yourselves how many times you guys have attacked “mainstream scientists” or anyone else who you call “closed minded”.
I find it absolutely appalling that you footers can lie to people, call people stupid when they don't believe your lie, and then say that they started shit. That's not just dumb, it's evil.
But Shawn, if you're not going to remain impartial and are going to attempt to discourage free discourse then you're not playing fair. So I'm leaving. I don't put up with people who are so pathetic that they can't argue on a level playing field and cry to an admin to silence opposition.

Oh, and if one of you sees Mr. White around here tell him that Mr. Gillespie will not suffer assholes like him for very long.
