Good Media Coverage of the Sasquatch

Editor’s Note: Jonathan Poulsen has been researching the Sasquatch since 2008, but really involved himself heavily in 2011. He has since devoted his life to the near impossible challenge of verifying the existence of the Sasquatch. Shawn refers to him as the Bigfoot encyclopedia.

The media treats the Sasquatch largely as just a fable, a myth on the same level as that of fairies and gnomes. But, back in 1993, Northwest Reports did a story on the Sasquatch that included an open-minded reporter who, surprisingly, was not snickering and making jokes. The segment was done in the days of the Bigfoot Research Project and included interviews with Peter Byrne and Dr. Grover S. Krantz.

  1. Gotta respect Krantz and his beliefs, and willingness to take heat for his research....IF they exist its sad Krantz didnt get to see it.....

    1. That is a very decent thing for you to say, Timmy. Didn't know you had it in you.

    2. Well look, many highly educated people believe, for whatever reason they either believe in the possibility or the entity.....and I as a non-believer am not their judge. I just think it sad that Krantz really believed, like Meldrum seems to, but he gave up a lot professionally to pursue it...and he never got to see his belief verified.
Also, honestly, why I get so adamant about people getting so passionate about Bigfoot and religion...the heartache isnt always worth what you are trying to prove, and theres so much questionable junk and people associated.

He was trying to make both ends meet

    4. Enough with the stupid dogman garbage! Why do you think that's funny? I knew a guy in school that called everything a mummel . A couple of people thought he was funny then. Now he's forty living by himself, huge star wars collection, lays around in sweats with a stack of playboys . Still talking about mummel . Dork!

    5. Yea,but at least he's happy and got a girlfriend named Rosey Palm and her five sisters!I bet he could sell his Star War collection for more money than you could make in your lifetime!

  5. No trolling or hate here, but this anons comment is exactly why I am a non believer. The only constant in this field of "research" is that there is no bigfoot, all language examples, supposed calls, pics and descriptions are all different....seems to be very questionable

    1. would could possibly explain the fact that people have been searching for decades but havent found it?

bigfoot is a shape shifting alien capable of going in to hidden dimensions (or some other ridiculous exuse a believer comes up with for why we cant find it)

      OR

because bigfoot simply does not exist... yea i guess that could be the reason!!!

    2. Lots of people have found it and seen it! Now I know your only research is a couple of tv interviews of people who havn't seen it. What an idiot anon 3:11! Couch patato!

    3. I find the consistency Timmy of reports and sounds as one of the reasons they exist!

  6. Too much coverage can be bad as well. Look at FB. I think an increase in bogus report filings is about to or has all ready begun happening at BFRO. The last two reports this month smell funny..

  7. this J.Paulsen guy has one linear focus it seems:

"Why are people mean to me about Bigfoot?"

it's an awfully whiney run of articles bud.

    1. It's Poulsen, not Paulsen. You don't like my last couple of articles? Can you please suggest another idea/topic then? Just trying to cater to everyone else's needs.

    2. It's just that they have all been very ,well, an appeal to having this taken seriously. When there's really nothing that has been given to the mainstream media to demand it be taken seriously. and you seem to have yer widdle feelings hurt about it.

If the media covered UFO's , Bigfoot, Ghosts and all this other stuff with equal fervor of more important things like the economy, global affairs...etc It would resemble the Weekly World News and nobody could trust them. (well, even less than they do already anyway)

Trying to appeal to be taken seriously is a lost cause without evidence buddy. And right now, you gots no evidence.

    3. Dude (anon 7:06), he nicely asked for suggestions. I get your point, but you didnt really offer anything back.

Are you up in Canada Poulsen? If so, do some reporting from Harrison Hot Springs or head over to Vancouver Island.

  9. Lol, good media coverage of squatch, then pull out a 19-year old piece. It was good, but that was a while ago.

Peter Byrne cracks me up, reminds me of William F Buckley.

  10. Grover Krantz is the man - did he do voice over work for Dick Cavett?

  13. Yeah, I'm actually on Vancouver Island. This summer I plan to vist Bindernagel and go to the locations of a couple of videos taken on the island. To be honest though, Harrison-Agassiz is far better region to sustain Sasquatch and the amount of alleged sightings in the area is far higher.

    1. Thats cool - Im down here in WA State, have a cabin up in the Cascades where I can check things out part time. Not far from where Bart shot that thermal footage a few years ago.

Think your reporting (first hand) will be more interesting. Although its much more work!
