Biblical Bigfoot

Editor’s Note: Jonathan Poulsen has been researching the Sasquatch since 2008, but really involved himself heavily in 2011. He has since devoted his life to the near impossible challenge of verifying the existence of the Sasquatch. Shawn refers to him as the Bigfoot encyclopedia.

NOTE: This article was not written by a biased source, as I am neither an Atheist nor Christian.

In the Bible, there are numerous references that one might interpret as being related to the Sasquatch. The most famous of these is undoubtedly the giant Goliath. But, Goliath is largely thought to be just an unusually tall human, and not as a bipedal ape, early hominid, ghost, alien, or anything else that the Sasquatch is thought to be. In Genesis 27:11, a hairy man is mentioned:

“And Jacob said to Re-bekah his mother, Behold, Esau my brother is a hairy man, and I am a smooth man”.

Esau is described as a completely normal modern man, but with excessive hair growth. His behaviors were typical of men in that region during that particular time period (2,600 years ago?). Nothing about Esau seems to indicate anything cryptozoological or unexplained. One verse, also in the Book of Genesis, reads:

“Thus dwelt Esau in mount Seir: Esau is Edom.”

Could this be a way of saying Esau lived in the mountains? Possibly.

It is more likely, however, that Esau simply had a bad case of Hypertrichosis, a disease that causes unconditional hair growth all over the body. Jo-Jo the Dog Faced Boy and Lionel the Lion Faced Man, two famous circus performers, both had this bizarre disease also known as ‘Werewolf Syndrome’.

In Genesis 6:4, the following is written:

“There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown”.

From what I understand, the term ‘Sons of God’ is synonymous with the term ‘giant’. So, giants bred with daughters of men and had half giant-half man children? The children went on to become prolific and mighty. Psychologist Stan Gooch suggested that Neandertals and humans produced offspring that are still around today, and that the offspring are the Jews. So could the ‘giants’ be Neandertals? Well, Neandertals weren’t known for their great height, but they are thought to have been quite hairy creatures (which fits the description of Esau). And also, Jews would’ve been the primary group of people to read the Book of Genesis (which was originally featured in the Old Testament) and complimenting them by referring to the Jews as “mighty men which were of old, men of renown” would’ve been a positive addition to the Bible. The part I like best about the Christianity-Sasquatch connection is the comment that they lived after the initial “creation” of our planet, leaving open the possibility that they may still exist today…..

Your initial hypothesis about him being an extra-hairy man was probably closer to the mark.

    ReplyDelete
  19. After reading some of these post now I can see why people out side of the Bigfoot world don't believe in Bigfoot.
You know in 2002 I came face to face with a real Bigfoot. Then right after that I did research going over book after book written by these so called Bigfoot researchers but, not one of them that written these book has seen a real Bigfoot or even know nothing about them. But they are called Bigfoot researchers.
    Let me explain:
John Green has looked for Bigfoot for over 40 years and he has never seen one, all he found was tracks and that was it.
Same goes for Rene Dahinden he looked for Bigfoot for over 40 years and he has never seen a real Bigfoot again only tracks.
But, these two men are Bigfoot experts.
Just like these people that gone over the PG film writing books and telling people that the film shows a real Bigfoot. However did any of these people seen a real Bigfoot again I say NO. Not one of them seen a Bigfoot. However we are to believe these men research on the film.
As for me I can say YES I have seen a real Bigfoot face to face. I can also say I do know what they are by my research and they are Edomites. As for the PG film again I can say Yes it was a man in a suit for I have seen a real Bigfoot and what is seen on the PG film shows a man in a suit.
So if people don't believe my research that is OK with me I am not out to please everyone I am out to tell the truth and find the proof to back up that truth. As for these so called Bigfoot researchers if they really know all about Bigfoot as they claim then why not go out and get one and show the people that you are a expert and stop all these BS claims like they tell in their books.
Remember this, the same men that started this hole bigfoot crazy are the same men that is behind the PG film Bigfoot hoax.

    1. People who study dinasoures never saw one! People who teach about the bible never lived during that time so I guess they are not experts either. What makes an expert is someone who devotes a lifetime ( Like Green) to studying a subject and never caves to critics. Knows more than most others and interviews tons of people. I saw a dozen moose in my lifetime , but I certainly wouldn't call myself an expert . But a biologist who studies them day after day I would call an expert because I don't work in that profession . Even if they saw one or not!

      Delete
    2. There are books written by people who have had encounters. Must not read enough to back up your claim

      Delete
    3. One book is " Notes from the field, tracking north Americas Sasquatch" by William Jevning. He saw one and wrote a book. Blevins claim is false.

      Delete
    4. There is no such thing as a Bigfoot expert because we haven't even located and captured one. But, John Green and Rene Dahinden are two of the best investigators the Sasquatch researching community has or will ever see. They're better than me, they're better than you Leroy, they're better than Matt Moneymaker and the BFRO. They started on case in the mid 1950s and interviewing hundreds of eyewitnesses and examined several trackways. Now, even if another investigator from today's age were to do more of what they did and even film a crystal clear video of a Bigfoot, they still wouldn't be as prolific as John or Rene. Do you know why? Because John and Rene were pioneers in this field. They did it when 99% of the world didn't even know what a Bigfoot was.

      Delete
  20. Now as for the Bible. People look at the Bible as a book I look at it as a history book that holds the secrets of our past.
The Bible talked about this type of man and tells the story of this type of man and his descendents. But again people over looked it as the years go by.
Remember this every story has a starting point and it's up to researchers to find that starting point. And the Bible is the only book that really talked about this type of man and when it all started. When you read this story of Esau you will read in full detail of what he looked like and how he lived and what he ate.
    Let me show you:
Esau was born with hair all over his body like a hairy garment.
Now what did Esau body hair looked like again the bible tells us this.
Jacob took the skin of the kid goat and place it on his hands and neck.
By this we know that Esau hair on his body is like the fur on a kid goat.
Again as told in the bible Esau had a smell. And that he made a bitter cry when he was upset.
    Now the Bigfoot
They have fur over their bodies and they have a smell and they make a bitter cry.
Then when the Romans gone to Edom to kill the Edomites they killed all the males that was there in Edom but they did not kill the females. Then the Edomites left Edom over 3000 years ago and then around the same time you will see reports of this type of people being seen in other locations.
So you see by going over the starting point and back tracking the reports they all line up with one another.
So the next time people talk about the Bible please look at it from other angles as well and not what man said about the Bible.
By the Bible not only did I found the start of the real Bigfoot but, I also found the true location of Noah's ark and the Garden of Eden and I know the true stories that are told in the bible. And Yes I have the proof to back up my findings. I have real images of Noah's Ark at rest and I have pictures of the cherubim at the east of the Garden of Eden.

  21. Good article JP but Esau was not a Bigfoot,Sasquatch or what ever term you want to use. After attending Seminary school and studying the bible it is in my honest opinion that they are the Sixth Day Creation. In Genesis chapter one verse 27 is says that God created man in his own image He created them both male and female. In verse 28 he blessed them and told them to be fruitful and multiply. He gave them dominion over all the creatures God created and every living thing. In verse 29 God said I have given you every herb bearing seed ,which is upon the face of the earth and every tree bearing seed to you as meat. Verse 30 continues to describe what God has done for Sixth day creation man,and he looked at what he had done and was pleased thus the end of that day. He never told them they needed to be covered or even the fact they were naked. So what happened to Sixth day creation man did they perish in the flood as did the descendants of Adam did? No because he told Noah to safe two of Every Flesh so that tells us that there were more than just 8 people on the Ark. When the doors opened they would continue to do just as God commanded. I know it's a lot to take in but in my opinion that's where the story begins, later we would see the so called Anakim come into the story. You know them best by names like Anak,Og,and of course Goliath all were of unusual stature and great strength. Good article anyway, you will get many different opinions about the subject and many will be nasty about it but that's just how it goes I guess.

    1. Sorry you are wrong. I have study the Bible for over 28 years now. What people don't understand about the Bible is that if you read what is written you will see God was talking to others with him and he said "Let Us Make Man" out of our image and after are likeness.
If you read this the right way God was talking to other with him on the 6th day and that he and who that was with him are to make men out of their images and likeness the same as God did. However the race of man made by God all died in the time of the flood of Noah. And all the race of men made by the others was save from the flood and there was 12 arks made at the time of Noah. And each one of those arks carry the race of man made by each of the others that was with God. This is why we see different race of people today and in my research I have found 8 out of the 12 arks and I have real images of those arks and I know the location of these arks.
Just like the ark that holds the Ten Commandments they claim there was 1 ark but if you read what is written you will see there was 2 ark's the first ark was made by Bez-a-leel and that ark hold the first set of commandments that Moses broke and they had writing on both side. There was another ark made by Moses and he place the second set of commandments that had writing on the one side and that is the 10 commandments. Esau and the Edomites race came in the time of Issac for he was the father of Esau.

      Too the question from Anonymous.
Yes and I will put a video together this week and show some of my research on Esau and the Edomites.

    2. I like to add this.
Look over the beginning of the Bible when God created male and female. As you read they both was made on the same day. But as you go on through the bible you will read when Lord God made man and he place the man in the Garden but as you read he did not made a female for him until after the 6th day.
Again what people don't know is the bible talks about 2 Gods, God and Lord God.
      Let me explain
As you know God knows all and see all. But when you read about The Garden of Eden you will see Lord God ask questions. Like he did not knew they eat from the tree of good and evil. And he did not knew where Adam and Eve was at when they hide from him. And he did not even knew that Cain killed Abel. You see Lord God is a different person then God him self.
And as the Bible state this book is the blood line of the Hebrews. In other word the Bible will only tell us about the Hebrew blood line and not the blood line of the other race of people that was made.

  24. You don't have to suscribe to listen. Go to the link mentioned, and look for this sentence on the left side of the page: "Listen to most recent episodes below.
Previous episodes are in the Archive."
