Minnesota Bigfoot Howl Removed From SoundCloud, Bigfoot World Shows Its True Colors
Sorry folks, the show's over for the "Minnesota Bigfoot Howl", at least for now. Once again, the sound file has been removed from planet earth and hidden away in a secret vault on planet "Malduk". It was originally posted on the BFRO's Facebook page, and got deleted for no apparent reason. Then, Facebook user Aspen Squatch came along, scooped it up and uploaded onto SoundCloud.com where it enjoyed the limelight for almost 24 hours before getting pulled for copyright violation. Apparently, the investigator who first shared the audio with his audio expert "friend" didn't really want it being shared with people outside his circle.
In the Bigfoot world, these sorts of things happen all the time: Where photos, videos and audio files are uploaded and then retracted due to copyright complaints. The battle over copyright content is the hallmark of the Bigfoot world. We've seen this happen with the "Kentucky Pancake Video" and the recent "Melissa Hovey Bigfoot Photo" debacle.
In 2007, Cryptomundo was accused by Matt Moneymaker of infringing on a copyright video of Bigfoot eating a pancake from a picnic table in Kentucky. Cryptomundo.com owner, Craig Woolheater was forced to remove the video from his website due to the lawsuit complaint. Moneymaker later sold the video to Adrian Erickson (of the Erickon Project) for $20,000. Afterwards, Whoolheater and Moneymaker gave each other big hugs and became good friends (This happens more often than not in the Bigfoot world).
Just recently, a popular YouTube user allegedly violated some kind of copyright law when he modified the original copyright tag from a photo of Bigfoot's back. Apparently, he was using this photo as a comical spoof in one of his videos and the owner was not amused by it. This special photo of Bigfoot's back is known in the Bigfoot community as the "Melissa Hovey Bigfoot Photo" (the photo really belongs to her witness).
Today, this community has once again shown its true colors. To the outside world (the mainstream), it may seem to them that this isn't really about finding Bigfoot, or learning about the truth-- Looking from the outside in, they may find that it's really about people's competition to-be-the-first, people driven by egos and personal agendas.
I got to hear the sounds earlier today. They were cool, but sounds don't really impress me that much. Too easy to hoax.
ReplyDeletethis is the best news yet! thanks janica
DeleteMelissa Hovey didn't remove that photo. The only photos of that that were removed were the ones in copyright violation. And the only "debacle" around that photo were the individuals who violated that copyright to begin with. Get your "debacles" right and quit stirring up trouble where there is none.
ReplyDeleteThat you, Melissa? Might want to get a handle on "fair use" (or what's left of it) in copyright law.
DeleteAgain... pathetic.
Thank goodness Hovey is a paralegal and a expert on copyright law. What? ROFL Didn't you hear; Melissa rewrote the *Fair use* statues to aline with what she wants. What Hovey fails to mention is she lost her copyright video claim.
DeleteHa ha...That's definately Hovey because no one else would stick up for her. Get over it Melissa. It was a debacle because you threw a shit fit over him making fun of you. He was never trying to profit from photo.
DeleteMelissa, also has photos on her ABS web site that do not belong to her, were not taken by her, and were stolen from face book. She has refused to take them down when asked by the owner. She is no champion of copywrite laws.
DeleteUp yours all of you for your bickering over copy right laws on this topic. Instead we should be sharing this information with the world, not HOARDING it for a fucking buck. Yah you heard me, UP YOURS! Selfish twats.
DeleteHovey made a complete fool of herself. FACT.
DeleteIt's no wonder that the Bigfoot "community" can't gain any ground in trying to prove, or at least show good evidence for the existence of Sasquatch.
ReplyDeleteIt appears to me that most of the big shots act like sand kicking, hair pulling whiny little babies.
I certainly don't rely or count on them for any valid information anymore. They all should be embarrassed at the way they act.
Sad, very, very sad.
You're right. Seems like the privileged folks at the top squabble alot.
DeleteAnd in half a century none of them have produced anything significant. Worth fighting over, don't you think?
DeletePathetic. The whole BF community (with a very FEW exceptions) - utterly pathetic.
ReplyDeleteAnd as for the possibility of a hoax, well... that's my guess as to why the secrecy.
Yes, there's never anything worth fighting over, but they do it anyway. It's just a game.
DeleteAlways save new things from the internet before they fall through the memory hole. I do, and did. But maybe the howls were just slowed down wolf calls, or outtakes from the Finding Bigfoot DVD set?
ReplyDeleteBigfoot is laughing at us.
ReplyDeletealways have....we are much more transparent than they. Our loud bositerous gimme culture, we hardly notice them, right there beyond the fire's light.
DeleteStuff always gets pulled once a person posts "evidence" that they feel strongly about, and others disagree. Like Cartman, Screw You Guys, I'm Going Home.
ReplyDeleteThe so-called bigfoot "community" is a caricature of itself because of people like this. Always trying to scam a buck out of somebody. Just release the damn audio, already.
ReplyDeleteAs I said previously, this audio will be posted in a few months, once we have had the chance to fully vet it and have a site prepared to host it. We're sorry for the confusion. Stay tuned. The version that was posted wasn't the original anyway. We will be serving that up when the time comes.
ReplyDeleteI also want to apologize for my previous statement about BFRO investigators leaking this from their site. I was wrong and they did not. It was posted on the public site. Sorry for that Matt and crew.
Andy
But you already said it was 'vetted'. What changed? Sorry to see that you had to apologize when your previous statement about BFRO slippage was on the money!
DeleteThanks for follow up. Personally, who cares? Google around..lots of sound howls out there, less "controversial.,: with the recordist story.
DeleteBut still fun, just demonstrate it is a Squatch. Can't? No video of Squatch howling? No tell-tale sign it's not a wolf or coyot?
Too bad. Dime a dozen.
If you read my original post, I said WHEN we have it vetted. Shawn misquoted that in his article as that we had it vetted. I know the source and am not doubting his veracity. But our investigation in the area continues. I'd also like to do more reserch into the howls and break them down. I've only had these sounds for a couple weeks now. This stuff takes time, hence the reason we didn't want it out yet.
DeleteAndy, I thought vetted meant deciding if the submitter was credible or not. I'm not being a smart-ass, I just seem to not know what you mean.
DeleteTony
OK, maybe I am using vetted wrong. What I mean is that we intend to look into all possible angles, examine the location and look for more evidence, do our best to ensure that there are no other sources of confusion, and present it all with a report on the sounds, the area, and all that we find so that you will have the most information possible and can make up your own minds as to what is on that recording.
DeleteHopefully that is clearer. :)
Andy
I understand. Good luck with your efforts. I'm looking forward to the site.Thanks.
DeleteTony
Andy, thank you for at least letting us know why it was pulled and that it was not pulled for monetary purposes down the road.
ReplyDeleteIt does make me wonder if we eventually have solid evidence (whether it is DNA, film, body, whatever the case maybe, etc.),whow quickly and what number of hoaxes/blobsquatches will suddenly surface.
Andy, I pernonally understand why you took this down for the time being and you are doing the right thing. Only you know what you need to do to put this together and present it how you want to. Take the time and get it right. As I said earlier this is the most impressive set of Bigfoot howls I have ever heard on the internet or in person as I have head one scream in 1996 and I anxiously await. Oh by the way, if you want to make a buck or two, I would understand and would willing pay to put this in my collection.
DeleteChuck
I have to be clear, this recording is not mine, but another researcher's. I am but one of several people we have actively working on this recording and gathering more evidence from the location where it was recorded. We have a great team of people here; I'm just their voice at this point.
Deletethere's always a 'grab it and run" attitude on the part of "researchers" when any possible evidence arrives on the scene. when you say it belongs to another researcher, do you mean, it really belongs to the witness, the individual who actually made the recording, and the researchers are falling all over each other in an attempt to claim ownership?
DeleteWhen the BFRO receives a report and it is posted on their site, it appears with a copyright BFRO on the page. There is NO release or transfer of rights from the witness to the BFRO, MM just assumes the copyright, and if no complaints are made, it remains posted that way. Dear MM, just because a report is submitted you cannot assume that the rights to republish that report are controlled by the BFRO. There is no disclaimer on the report page, and the BFRO never asks for a transfer of ownership or rights.
having, or not having a law degree is not enough...do some research into the copyright law. And find out what "fair use" means.
The witness IS a researcher in this case, hence the reason he was leaving an audio recorder in the woods. Sorry for having been using the term "researcher" and "witness" interchangeably, but in this case, they are.
DeleteI have never seen such a sniveling group of "people" because this is not science and these arent researchers, in my whole life. IF there is a creature, the group handling this is doing EVERYTHING to discredit the whole field of study. ITs pathetic. In any other field of science people would be helping one another NOT rushing OFF to sign Non Disclosure agreements. ITs pitiful. No wonder mainstream science wants any part of this. A few will cash in but thats IT. THe rest of us will be footnotes in the story. This could be a wonderful example of science working together but NO it cant be that way Humas are invovelved
ReplyDelete"Science" is not what these guys do...these guys are feeding off the bigfoot phenomenon by selling tshirts, website memberships and expeditions to make a buck. nothing wrong with that per se, but please stop calling it research. what they really want is the body, so they can make their millions. i always wondered exactly who will be paying said million but they seem to think someone out there will...
Deletehow are we to get to the bottom of the whole bigfoot sasquatch thing if this is how some groups are not willing to get with the program if we dont work togeather we have already failed dont ya thin k we have enough people on the other side of the fence without keeping things from the ones that do believe WTF is wrong with you people dam remind me of little kids on the playground (im taking ay toys and going home lmao)
ReplyDeleteVery little trust or honor in this field unfortunately, still the Sasquatch beings are out there and when we get a handle on this kindergarten the result shall be great for us all. Literally.
ReplyDeleteI didn't get to hear it but this type of thing seems to happen a lot. A good video or picture gets posted and then removed.
ReplyDeleteoh well...on to the next
Once again, great article! I fully appreciate the concluding paragraph. Limiting exposure of allegedly authentic video, photo and audio evidence is, to me, sort of a clue to its authenticity. If it's real, let everyone see it. If it's fake, show it to a small crowd of people eager to give it a free pass on the litmus test. That's my sense with the Erickson Project videos. Just because it passes muster for full time believers does not mean it will pass muster to more objective scrutiny. Why withhold such profound evidence if it is real? The alternative would be what, conjuring up as much interest as possible and then what, selling it on a DVD? Commercializing evidence is almost like admitting it is fake. We pay to see fictional movies, we get to see real documentaries for free. :-)
ReplyDeleteVery good points.
DeleteAs Andy stated before, we are still actively investigating this area in hopes of obtaining more evidence. We have already been able to secure more recordings but just not nearly as close as these. As anyone who is truly investigating this subject knows the evidence comes in bits and pieces. If it were easy to obtain we would have all had our face to face encounters already. Yes we are working on a web site, no we are not going to charge for access to any of your findings. Anyone that does not believe that will be eating their words when it happens. We too are tired of the politics in this research community and that's why we want our site set up properly. Those that are patient will be rewarded. But on the other should expect anything else from the McDonalds generation?
ReplyDeleteKetchum is that you? .... Were excepting samples so keep sending them. Oh and here's a NDA and a document that completely signs all your rights away to your sample. Just keep waiting a couple more years but we are diligently working on it, how else are we going to string you along? I know, we will give you another little morsel to keep you hooked......IMO
DeleteAndy, RH, maybe you're sincere and really hoping you got something here and it's an honest mistake but whoever gave you the audio messed with it. Speed it up and listen. You got no high-end range in the audio as is; no high means pitch shift or speed shift. Speed it up; it's wolves or coyotes. Doesn't take much analysis... send it to Wolf Park or someone with a wolf-dog, they'll tell you.
ReplyDeleteIf you guys would spend half as much time in the woods as you do your computers we would have solved this mystery by now.
ReplyDeleteI just noticed that those pancakes aren't real.
