Christopher Noel's KickStarter Pitch To Fund Thermal Research, To Help Habituators Bring You The Money Shot

Joshua Megyesy and Christopher Noel (Impossible Visits YouTube channel) just started a fundraiser page at Kickstarter.com in an attempt to raise enough money to pay for the latest thermal imaging camera technology (over $5,000 for the model they're looking at getting). With your help, they'll be able to study the "forest people" 24/7, not just during the day but also at night.

In the video below, they talk about several instances where sasquatches have been successfully recorded via thermal imaging:

About Project:
"Joshua Megyesy and Christopher Noel are dedicated Sasquatch researchers, as evidenced by Josh's leadership of "New England Sasquatch Research and Protection" and by Chris's many well-received fieldwork videos on YouTube's "impossiblevisits" channel. Also, Chris has contributed to public understanding of the species' intelligence and behavior through his book IMPOSSIBLE VISITS: THE INSIDE STORY OF INTERACTIONS WITH SASQUATCH AT HABITUATION SITES. If you are interested in possibly helping us take our work to the next level, please view our video."

    1. Baloney. Maybe they have opted to put paying their bills ahead of the acknowledged luxury of a fancy FLIR. They've got nothing to lose by asking, and I have a hunch they'd be willing to share it with other researchers, much as FBFB has loaned one out to Bamabuckster1 (and he's had very interesting results).

There's another idea for them, aside from renting... do a 'timeshare' deal with a group of researchers all owning specified times with the unit.

    2. @Anon 6:03,

Very good point! I love your timeshare idea. This is exactly the kind of cooperation the bigfooting world needs.

    3. First of all Kickstart is an acknowledged way to bring in funds for a project. Many small corps and startups do that. Those same small companies that drive 60% or more of American Business. White Trash. What a small intellect

  2. We'd all like to have the best technology and thermal imagery etc!! Do what we have to do and scrimp and save, like buggery am I going to put money towards giving some stranger a five thousand dollar FLIR,work hard, save your pennies and buy your own!! There are charities out there like dancer charities and Alzheimer's etc that really need funding, that's where my money would be going and has done in the past and I hope some of you good people will or have done aswell!! Give good money do some strangers can have five grands worth of technology to try and film a Sasquatch!! Your hearts are in the right place fellas but do what everyone else does, scrimp, save and buy your own!!!

  3. Sorry for the spelling mistake, that was cancer charities not dancer charities!! Some people have got some cheek!! Infact heres my appeal,I want a Porsche,I can go and find Bigfoot in it,day or night,it will help further my goals, please click on my link and give generously!! Cheeky, hard faced, scamming tossers!!! Unbelieveable!!!

    1. scottyboy, go find me proof of Sasquatch via video and hard evidence, I will buy you that Porsche.

  4. I caught a sasquatch on a thrermo imagery. He would try to hide behind bushes and trees, but the squatch couldn't hold his darts in. I would see hot gas rising out of the bushes or a flaming red image come bursting out from behind a tree! I think that's why there's a bad smell when a squatch is around, their assholes are flagellating all the time.

  5. One can rent a FLIR, almost any top model, for between about $300 to $500 for a whole month. And just $100 for a fortnight.

    1. Well there's the answer, folks.

    2. Rent the latest technology. The one you buy this year will be outdated by next summer.

      Delete
    3. This is the best way to go about it, period. If you're strapped for cash then get your team to pitch in 150.00 each, get the camera for a whole month and subsequently do a field study for a month at a time. If you can't get footage of Sasquatch after a month long study then chances are you won't get it at all. However, if you don't get the footage after a month of research then plan another trip and do it again. This route makes much more sense to me, I mean, why "waste 7,500" on a camera and never get footage. Throwing in 150.00 each a month at a time makes more sense economically.

  6. I would LOVE to have a thermal camera but I cannot, and probably never will be able to afford one.
I have a used HD camcorder which works quite well, a 14 megapixel digital camera which works well but is too slow. I also bought three 35 mm film cameras with various lenses. All mechanical too so I'm not worried about batteries.
I know that this is what I could afford. All the stuff was used when I bought it, but it's what's in my realm of possibility.
I agree with scottyboy. We all want certain things that we can't afford.
Having said all of that, if the guys can get supporters to help them out, then I hope it leads to good things.
I subbed their channel a long time ago and they have what I think is interesting videos. I have no doubt that they would put good use to such a piece of technology and share any information with everyone.
There are two sides to every coin.

    1. Yes two sides... buy or rent. See the post above you. BTW, whatever cam you rigged in your truck has outstanding um..um... whatever kept it so steady as you were driving on an unpaved road in the boonies.

    2. I would rather buy if I had the chance. $300 per month or just save for 2 years.
If you're serious about the camera quality, it's a Sony Handycam and it's a base model. No light, no IR. Just HD with an internal 80G hard drive. The window mount is a Delkin (U.S. made) Fat Gecko. It's geared to outdoor enthusiasts, and yes, it keeps my heavy camera fairly stable on those dirt roads.
The roads were actually quite bumpy.
If I can't afford something, I'll find a way to improvise.

      Delete
    3. Yes, I was serious -- it really was impressive in those conditions. So do you credit the Delkin unit, or does the cam do some stabilizing as well?

      Delete
    4. Hold on. Do you mean the Lease Road video?
If so, that was my Iphone 3GS wedged between my camera mount and the windshield.
      Like I said, improvise lol.
All the other videos were shot with the Handycam.

      Delete
    5. The cam has a stabilizing feature and the mount is excellent. I really like the camera because of the video quality (1920 X 1080)on high quality. If I ever get Sasquatch on video it better not be blobsquatchy.
I hate auto focus though but I'm figuring out ways to make it work my way.
The mount is good for up to 4 lbs I believe, so it's a solid unit.

      Delete
    6. Yes, the Lease Rd vid with your doggie. All those miles with all that untouched wilderness really opens your eyes to the fact there's a LOT of territory out there where the Sas could live unnoticed and undisturbed... but COLD!

      Delete
    7. It was by far the best spot I've seen. The only people around there are the oil folks and the road is only accessible through a locked gate.
I know the combination now but there's no way I'd violate the trust.
It wasn't cold really, just looked like it. All the fog made it look so mysterious.

Aside from just having a cool name, you do some really cool work. I just wanted to stop in and say I fully support people like you, getting out and doing field work. Rock on.

  7. BTW, I do think Chris Noel is a good candidate to bring back some fine FLIR, and he also has the personal courage to do so alone, if one takes his last vid at face value, and I do. Good Luck Chris and Josh

  9. Wow, this is stooping low to beg for a luxury item. Plus, the thermal unit shown in the video costs at least $7,800, not the $5,500 they claim. Why can't they even put a correct photo of the actual thermal unit for which they are begging? Why don't they just ask for a Hummer to transport them to the woods while they're at it.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Are you forgetting they are tossing in some of their own cash to bring it down to $5,500?

      Delete
    2. @Anon4:29 The reason the price is different, Einstein is because as with any large corp like FLIR, if you call and negotiate you can get a discount from retail. I gave Chris my contact at FLIR (I have my own company) and he will give Chris a good price. There also are other avenues. Cameras brought back in for refurb or like me I am buying a demo camera for my testing. Guess what, the retail price is $7,600 and I am paying a fraction of that for the demo cam.

  15. Lol the reason Bigfoot doesn't appear on normal cameras is not because he's hidden. Its because it doesn't exist. Thermal cameras won't pick up the heat signiture of something that doesn't exist. Keep dreaming.

  17. Mitch Waite (SUSANFARNS on YT) tried Kickstarter to fund a six-week dedicated camp-out in their 'hot zone' this summer. Didn't fly, unfortunately. He's got all the gear, and that's the type of 24/7 surveillance that might finally produce results.

  18. I am AMAZED at the negativity of this forum. ESPECIALLY on this BOARD. What CHRIS NOEL is doing is what any SMALL Company or start up would do, look for investors. Kickstart is a new way so that small investors can participate in something they may have an interest in. Chris was wise to use it. I quickly donated $250 as soon as I could. I would have given more but that was the top choice.
ANYONE interested in small startups can go to KICKstart and find little companies to invest in. Its what makes America GREAT. For those of you that called them Trailer trash and stooping low to get their FLIR have NO IDEA on how small companies get started and how they acquire funding, NO CLUE!!! Is how Small businesses work, and now with KICKSTART its easier for people who are interested in certain topics to participate.
Guess what, in my business as a small DOD company I have to go to washingtion and find the managers in DARPA who have money to give out to small companies who are in the same technological field AS THE DARPA managers. Its all the same thing and its the way we have been doing it the same way.

    1. How are these guys running around a forest at night with a FLIR cam a business? If I invest money , when do I see a return. If there's no return them its not an investment , just a hand out.

    2. Thing is; like all the other Habituators, these guys have got nothing. If they are hot on the heels of Bigfoot; where in the hell are the crystal clear photos and videos. Clearly they own cameras; they have no difficulty taking video of themselves. Why invest in their B.S?

      Delete
    3. Exactly Anon 11:52 . This is a handout, period. "Investors" as "Average Joe" states invest in hopes of a return. Christopher Noel has NO evidence period. This would be one of THE WORST investments imaginable bsimply ased off the fact that he has NEVER shown one tidbit of reliable factual evidence to prove to investors. However, there are SUCKERS born every day. Waste away that "investment" by all means, suckers!
