Yowie Creature In New Aussie Movie, 'Throwback' Has Nothing On Melissa Hovey's Bigfoot Photo

Editor’s Note: This is a post by Bigfoot Evidence contributor Vicki W.

Coming soon to a theater near you, meet Australia's version of Bigfoot, the Yowie. Film maker Travis Bain has released a teaser trailer for his second film, Throwback. The plot will focus on the adventures of two gold seeking treasure hunters whose mission turns into a fight for survival when they inadvertently trespass into Yowie territory. Apparently, the Bigfoot from Down Under doesn't like uninvited guests. Be afraid, be very afraid.

The film is in production on location in Cairns, N. Queensland with a tentative release in 2013. According to the press release, Throwback is the second feature film from Australian writer/director Travis Bain. His first feature, Scratched, was one of the four finalists in the 2005 digiSPAA Digital Feature Film Festival."

Bain says the movie is "an homage to 1970's era drive-in creature features such as The Legend of Boggy Creek and The Creature From Black Lake."

Get a glimpse of the Aussie movie monster in the first released teaser trailer. A full trailer will be released later this year.

  1. Pretty campy. Looks like the gorilla suit used in 3 Stooge's movies. Could be fun at the drive-in. I think they'd get more freakouts using the known deadly snakes and spiders down there. A closeup of a Golden Orb spider on someone's face would do the trick. Not poisonous, but the size of a dinner plate.

    1. Golden Orb's do have venom and it can be quite nasty to human's and they are no where near the size of a dinner plate.....sorry but had to clear that up. Am an Entomolgist that lives in Australia.

    1. No. The Yowie is thought to be no more than 5'2" with a spindly frame. To be mocked, not feared.
