Vermont Man Shows Off His Trail Cam Photo Of Bigfoot On TV News

Back in September 2010, Steven Kulls heard that a Vermont resident was noticing that his apples were disappearing from his back yard. The man decided to set up a trail cam in a tree to see what the hungry animal could be. He was expecting to find a bear or some other animal that night, but what he found on his trail camera photo was a "Bigfoot"-- or at least that's what he believes.

The trail camera manages to capture some images of a coyote, but the one image that came right after it showed something much larger and hairier, bending at the knees scooping up apples. Some claim that the photo is of a female Sasquatch, with its young underneath it.

Skeptics have speculated that that blurry figure may have been the motion-blur of a coyote. Others have said that it was probably an owl that flew passed the trail cam.

From www.wcax.com:

RUTLAND, Vt. -
Bigfoot sightings across New England have been reported for hundreds of years.

"Red glowing eyes, about 7 feet tall, making a sound like a pig squealing or a woman screaming and walking like a man but looking more like a gorilla," Paul Bartholomew said.

That's the most common description researcher and Bigfoot author Bartholomew hears from those who say they've seen the sasquatch.

"It's a global phenomena and it's here in our own backyards," Bartholomew said.

Bartholomew's backyard-- Whitehall, N.Y.-- has had recorded sightings for centuries.

"You go back to the Algonquin and the Iroquois and they talk about the stone giant and the giant men of the mountains. The Abenaki had their creature reports. So this whole area is rich in traditional reports of this creature," Bartholomew said.

But there are some more recent reports, he says. One was supposedly spotted at a local golf course in the 1970s. It now uses Bigfoot as its logo. And Whitehall passed an ordinance to protect the creature in 2003. There's even a statue of sasquatch in town.

Just east of Whitehall, sightings have been reported along Route 4 and all across the state of Vermont from Bennington to Colchester.

Frank Siecienski of Hubbardton believes a Bigfoot was near his home.

"One section of my apple tree, the apples were completely devoured. One whole section. I pointed it out to my wife and she says 'oh God,' the deer must have been hungry. And I said no, a deer couldn't have eaten that many apples in one night," Siecienski said.

So Siecienski set up a trail camera trying to catch the sasquatch on tape. On a September night two years ago he recorded something.

"I found out from researchers that this is a female sasquatch with its young underneath it. It's protecting its young," he said, showing the recording.

Whether you believe the evidence collected is reality or just a ruse, they'll have an interested audience Saturday. The TV network Animal Planet will bring its show Finding Bigfoot to Rutland. Producers will pick stories feature on the show.

"Not only is it a fun, upbeat, interesting, different story that is being filmed here. And the local community is getting very excited about it," said Tom Donahue of Rutland Region Chamber of Commerce.

Bartholomew hopes the show will bring some more credibility to his claims.

"Our major goal is to bring this out of the tabloid mentality and bring it into science. The DNA age. And I think that's right where we're heading," Bartholomew said.

Big news for Bigfoot fans all across Vermont.

Few details about the network's plans have been released, but our sources say about 100 people will show up, and three stories will be chosen.

  1. What, you've never seen a feathered bighoot ?

  2. I just love the line "Bartholomew hopes [Finding Bigfoot] will bring some more credibility to his claim."

    Priceless.

    1. Why not finish his sentence. He goes on to say that it's time to move it out of the tabloids and into science with evidence like DNA.

What annoys me is people who love to criticize any new sighting or information about Bigfoot because they themselves don't believe in its existence. I find it funny when they think its always a hoaxer in a suit or that the people reporting a sighting are somehow mistaking what they see for something else or that they are seeking the limelight. Were the Iroquois, Abenaki, and Algonquin Indians in the area all fooled by hoaxers in gorilla suits too? They didn't need DNA evidence to prove the credibility of their living alongside another hominid.

As a scientist, I have witnessed many things that were at one time thought to be impossible but were later found to beyond anyone's comprehension or expectations later on.

So, for all you armchair scientists out there who scoff at the mere idea of the possible existence of Bigfoot, just remember my favorite Alfred E. Newman quote when science eventually catches up with Bigfoot: "It's what you learn AFTER you know it all that really counts."

      Delete
    2. Somehow I'm having a really tough time believing you are a scientist. Or did you mean scientologist?

      Delete
    3. Yeah, move out of the tabloids and into reality TV. Big step up there in credibility.

      Delete
    4. Like I said, my advice to all you know-it-all skeptics is that it isn't what you think you know now that's important -- it's what you learn AFTER you know it all that really counts. Right now, you are all stuck on a single paradigm, much like the theory that the world was flat. I know enough about science and about the world to know that our species knows virtually nothing about the world that we inhabit. Ninety percent of the people live on ten percent of the land. I've spent half a lifetime working in the 90 percent and I can tell you that there are parts of the world and even within our own country that are largely unexplored. It's a big world out there beyond your keyboards. It's easy to snipe and call people names who take a contrary viewpoint on such matters as we are talking about, but if you really truly research the topic you'll find out that there is more to the story than is commonly known.

By the way, I'm not saying that Finding Bigfoot is science or commenting on whether it's credible or not. What I am commenting on is the know-it-all attitudes of many who seem to take joy in calling commentators like me silly names. That said, shows like FB and Destination Truth may be on to something. In fact, among the DNA samples being analyzed by Dr. Ketchum is hair samples collected by Josh Gates in Nepal.

Just think for a second. If the hair collected by Josh Gates in a TV reality show turns out to be credible evidence of the existence of the Yeti what will the naysayers say then? I say start shifting your paradigm now or be prepared to be the one to be ridiculed by science and real know-it-alls like us scientists.

    3. Blondie because you want to see it. If you cut this picture and put it on PhotoShop then just take an outline of the pic you can see its a the shape of a landing owl. That hand is just feathers. Also on the right wing you can also see the feathers start to spread as it braces itself to land. Plus the pixilation is blurry which means the creature is moving at a descent rate of speed. Look at the pic compared to the coyote.
I know we have gone back and forth on this but this one is pretty obvious to me at least.

  7. Well, once again a blursquatch. The "baby" look like a bear cub. The larger body, depending on which end you look at appears either as a vague human face like profile or some beast at the other end. All in all, to blurry to make any sense of it. The baby is no humanoid looking creature...very bear like. Look at the paws, nose, ears. A man in suit holding a teddy bear?

    1. Good morning Blondie, this doesn't appear to be an owl. What it looks like, is a person in a Ghillie suit stealing this guy's apples. Maybe the home owner was punked, maybe the local bow hunter needed some apples for deer bait, or the land owner himself was involved. Considering we have no other trail camera photos of BF, it seems a fairly safe bet to I.D. this for what it looks like. A human being in a Ghillie suit. Course given the Blurfoot, BlobSquatch nature of this image, it could be several things. Like all blurry photos, we likely will never know. SWP

      Delete
  9. At least after Finding Bigfoot we will know when they do their reenactment. Bobo will say its a squatch, ranea will say owl, and Matt and Cliff will be borderline.

Swp is correct, we probably will never know, since there is not a series of pictures to give any perspective.

  10. You can even see the eyeshine of the baby. Good photo. To my knowledge bears don't have conical heads, or carry the babes on their belly.

  14. An owl? Really? No owl I've ever seen. An 8 footer huh? Comparing the kneeling adult and the unknown subject, I don't get it. Look at how massive this thing is and the muscle definition in the back and shoulders. The reflectivity is from patches of bare skin. Just taking the difference in size between the two subjects says a lot. No owl. No human in a suit unless it's Andre the Giant and he's dead.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Bigfoot does love apples.....seriously, i think this one's a real pic. Amazing.

    ReplyDelete
  16. You can put your money on this one being the real deal. MM was on site yesterday with Bartholomew and Kulls. Figure is much bigger than Bobo. Photo analyst Bruce Macabee says it is definitely not an owl. It has fur, not feathers. Very squatchy location. Other incidents in the area. Area is about 15 min or so from Whitehall, NY.
