Tim Stover Turns Down Another TV Show, Says He's Only Interested In The Truth, Not Money

Ohio Bigfoot researcher Tim Stover, just turned down another soon-to-be TV series about Bigfoot hunters. The series is going to be filmed for the History Channel Network featuring Bigfoot hunters from all walks of life competing for "a chance to win a monstrous cash prize and finally prove the existence of BIGFOOT!"

After speaking with Tim, he tells us it's not about the money for him and this isn't the first time he turned down a television show. About 3 months ago, Tim was contacted by NBC about doing a Bigfoot show but he turned that show down for the very same reason.

On Facebook today, Tim posted this message after getting off the phone with a producer for the History Channel:

Sorry folks but we bailed out of History Channels upcoming Bigfoot Hunter series. When we were asked what sets us apart from many others we said "we wasn't in this for the money but only the truth" Interview abruptly ended. Red Flags! I just can't risk destroying my credibility and what I truly believe is right. I'm very sorry. I know you were all very excited about it and I hope you will support my final decision.

Here's Tim speaking out about his decision:

  1. Good for you Tim. A lot of folks were contacted and turned them down from what I hear. But good on you for doing the right thing!

  2. Well, for one, they asked us for a two month commitment without pay or even a daily stipend. I told them we all have jobs and families. What they seem to want is gonzo fanatics who will do anything for that (unstated amount) prize. Talk about an incentive for hoaxes and exaggeration of findings. I would bet a whole lot that what they really want is people willing to make fools of themselves so the idea of bigfoot may be ridiculed.

  3. That's not what they're looking for he said.

What they're looking for is good TV - period. That means the producers are looking for idiots that will say and do outrageous things for the camera.

They want ratings. They could care less about these people or the search for bigfoot.

Good for Mr. Stover for rejecting their offer.

  4. I think it's always good to listen to one's gut instincts on these matters. I know a lot of folks in the paranormal research world that went ape shit when ghost hunting shows were popular. They would have jumped at any chance to have a show and you have to stop and ask that if someone finds the research to be important, why would he take himself out of the field to do a show? Unless he thought he was a great conduit for people to learn more about BF and a real personality that could get it across (Josh Gates), then he should continue on with his research without the bells and whistles and huge distractions of filming and promoting for a network.

  6. Oh, and the other thing I told them is that we were serious about Natural History and Wildlife Biology, and that we utilized a critical and often skeptical methodology. This method, I said, applied to history and local geography, is how we rediscovered the true PG FILM SITE. Through critical thought, I emphasized. Hmmmm... and we haven't heard back from them yet.

  7. And you probably wont Steven. Unless you come up with something so Earth shattering it will draw viewers and ratings.

  8. I have always liked what the history channel produces, one of my favorite channels. Seems like they always put out top notch stuff. Will be interesting to see the show when it comes out, and what type od characters they will find. I really hope they don't turn all "foxish".

  9. Admirable, very respectable Mr. Stove. I wish others with "Bigfoot" television shows shared your philosophy, instead of making a mockery of the field.

  10. First, they have NOT cast the show.
Second, it has NOT yet been picked up by the History Channel.
Third, anyone saying they have been offered anything is lying.
Fourth, they are still in the interviewing stage.
Fifth, the people claiming to have turned down the show? They have not been offered anything to turn down.

Some people will say anything to look good or play the martyr.

  11. Stovar, did you ever notice that he consistantly does videos about himself and how geat a guy he is. He must have lacked attention growing up because he makes more videos about himself then he ever does actually finding Bigfoot. He reminds me of Timbergiants videos the camera always looking at them instead of out the window .lol

    1. Well Fasano, they don't put themselves on camera any more than you do. Im fact they show themselves less than you do, and they don't grunt the whole time while on film.

  13. It does seem odd that the History channel is taking such a drastic turn in producing what appears to be a tacky series.

Personally, I don't think this show is going to get off the ground and everyone better keep their day jobs, if they have one.

  14. So exactly where does one go to get a Cryptozoology degree????

  15. If this is the avenue that History Channel is going to take then it would fit in great with Jim LeBus' proposed efforts and others like him, but we really don't know as yet do we? I think they would be better of continuing in the mold of Monster Quest or A Haunting, but they make the Big Bucks and I don't. History Channel is one of my favorites and they have done many good projects over the years, and they have a chance to do a really good one with Bigfoot and I hope they do so and not put out a product that brings shame and scorn upon Bigfootology. Time will tell.

  17. I FOUND OUT THAT WHAT IT IS IS FAR FROM WHAT STOVAR PORTAYED ON HIS VIDEO. WHAT REALLY HAPPENED WAS AN OUTSIDE CONTRACTOR THAT ONCE DID SOME WORK FOR HISTORY CHANNEL WAS PUTTING TOGETHER A SIZZLE REEL TO HOOK A NETWORK TO INVEST IN A PILOT FOR NEW SERIES.
99% OF THE TIME NOTHING COMES OF THESE SO CALLED SIZZEL REELS WHICH ARE JUST IDEAS SOMEONE IS PITCHING TO NETWORKS. HISTORY CHANNEL HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS. AS FAR AS I KNOW NOTHING IS COMING OF THE IDEA.

  20. Most see and use bigfoot only as a means to an end.

Bigfoot isn't the end, bigfoot is the means.

The end is almost always seeking attention for their own pathetic loser asses.

This just reinforces the truth that he is ONLY doing this for the past FOUR(not twenty) years to get his ego stroked! GLORY HOUND!
