Mike Rugg Wants People To Stop Shooting At Bigfoot
In this latest episode of the Bigfoot Discovery Museum Show starring Mike Rugg, he talks about the "Kill vs. No Kill" debate.
A few months ago, we ran a story about the Texas Bigfoot Research Conservancy group's involvement in the shooting of a Bigfoot. Their hard stance on killing to prove its existence caused prominent Bigfoot researchers like Craig Woolheater to distance himself from the controversial group.
Watch Mike Rugg Mike give his thoughts on the "Kill vs. No Kill" debate currently going on in the Bigfoot community:
Kudos for people like Woolheater and Rugg who have the right attitude about this subject--there is no reason to shoot and kill a Bigfoot. This is not big game hunting.
ReplyDeleteDamn guuuuuuuuuuuuurl. Check out you with that red hair. I'd like to go hunting with you, big game, Bigfoot whichevah...
DeleteYou are a shorty, right?
5'8"
DeleteI have it on a pretty good athority that the largest of organizations commonly recieves reports of the animals beeing, aggressive, dangerous and causing harm to people. They DON'T forward these reports on to there websight for the rest of us to read. B--O
DeleteThese people who claim these long term habituations are the MOST FULL OF SH-T. I've had three different experiences with these animals AND THEY DON'T PLAY OR HANG OUT WITH HUMANS!!!!!!!!!!!!
aLL these people that claim to have them haging out should take the blame for one getting SHOT if they can't produce a GOOD pic or VIDEO. You will tell some story of them haggin out for months or years and no video, THEY BEEN EATING THE WRONG MUSHROOM'S
To all the stupid Liberal hippie heads, quit assuming YOU KNOW BEST--- YOU DON'T!!
Fact is, WE DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT WERE DEALING WITH!!!! I don't and you don't!!
ANYONE WHO HAS A CLOSE ENCOUNTER WITH A BIGFOOT, AND HAPPENS TO BE ARMED, MAY SHOOT ONE OUT OF SHEER FREAKING TERROR.
iF WE ACCEPT ALL THE STORIES, THEY HAVE KILLED PEOPLE, STOLE FROM PEOPLE, KIDNAPPED PEOPLE, AND COMMONLY THROW THINGS AS WELL AS USE INTEMADATION TECHNIQUES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All you liberal tree hugger types better quit putting it out like these things are some kind of big lovable teddy bears, cause ther NOT!!!!!!
Quite frankly, they are probably the MOST DANGEROUS PREDITOR ON THE PLANET!!
I'M NOT PRO-KILL, I'M A REALIST. every circumstance and encounter is different, some have been extremely violent.
I like mike rugg and do value his work and opinions, but the fact is, nobody knows the origins of these creatures or thier intent. If we listen to many of the Indian legends, there may be a spiritual or even demonic aspect to this being!!!!
The way the BIGFOOT bodies are stacking up (00000). I don't think we need to worry yet.
You tree huggars could get some idiot killed telling them thier HARMLESS or making people think thier human?????
I can see it now, some idiot walks up and say's "Hi mr bigfoot, want to share my turkey sandwich and greentea?" Then gets his head ripped clean off!!!!
I promise you this, it AIN'T HUMAN!!!!!
I've seen one, and been screamed at by one, THEY AIN'T HUMAN!!!!!!!!!
Your descriptions of Bigfoot behaviors sounds just like humans! You would fit right in.
DeleteI enjoy the fact that you are so wrong and so certain of the the things you say aren't certain.
I love BFers, their logic is so bad, it really makes me feel smart.
Obviously, the US has an education problem.
state your case---- not your feeeelings.
DeleteYou made no argument about my points, so i guess your arguments must now point at me instead of facts?
And how about your name you coward above!
How do you know i would fit in, I made no statment about what my responce was or would be would be.
By the way, I don't own a gun!
Here goes another whack job trying to think for someone else.
P.S. By the way anonymous above, your last two statements exemplify the problem.
DeleteYou siad, "you feel smart."
I agree, you feel smart. Therefor, you believe it. This is what the modern LIBERAL education system does to the mind. Voids it of absolutes!
My I.Q. has been tested. I scored well above genious, way above obamha, and miles above you, ----- idiot.
My one flaw, I don't spell well. ha ha ha
Absolutely right on....NO-KILL
ReplyDeleteI hope the pro-kill thugs are paying attention. Your actions are illegal, morally reprehensible, and totally unacceptable.
live and let live...
Steve Summar
How is illegal to shoot something that is not supposed to be real I mean I believe in these animals but that's the only way they will be proved real also if one got shot the person would not get in trouble they would become famous for proven that they are real
DeleteEnough of them have already been killed to prove if they are real or not. That DNA study just needs to hurry up be released.
DeleteThere is no reason to hunt and kill a bigfoot now - not morally, not for sport, not to control populations, not for food, not for fur.
No reason.
Unless it's in self defense of you or your property, but that's not very bigfootish behaviour from what I've gathered so far.
Those Bigfoot "kills" are hearsay until proven otherwise. Give us something better than that.
Delete@Mike, you can ask Justin Smeja how it worked out for him in a few months, maybe years.
DeleteMost people don't realize it is already illegal to even harm one under many differnt laws, although not spelled out as a Sasquatch.
The issue won't be was it illegal, it will be a question of Prosecutor's Discretion, will the DA, or whatever agency, choose to prosecute?
There may also be ways citizens can sue diretly for action, that depends on the taxonomic designation, and the details of the story.
There may also be opportunity to have a court appointed advocate for Bigfoot, even if an Ape.
If Bigfoot is shown to be Homo sapien or close, the whole landscape changes overnight legally. Even if the paper is not offical proof. Interesting isn't it.
One thing Bigfooters seem to cite to often is the lack of law regulating their activites, with almost no understanding of what may be applicable in any given individual case.
It will be very interesting if the Sierra Kills is true, I would not predict any outcome for the players, or study participants, on that.
Public opinion can drive prosecutors to act and often does.
There are many groups that advocate for animals and humans, they will join the debate (or push for regulation) with any real steps toward proof.
Can't wait to hear how PETA reacts.
I feel today the paper will never be published in a significant Journal.
The only "problem with Sasquatch" seems to be the humans in need of proving.
Actually the key reason you don't shoot at Bigfoot is
ReplyDeletethat it may be some stupid idiot in a Suit!!!!
word!
DeleteThis may be the best comment. If you have or havent been fooled by folks in costumes they are out there.
DeleteMike rugg if i ever met you i would pin a medal on you. Keep up with the great and right additude amigo.
ReplyDeleteMike rugg if i ever met you i would pin a medal on you. Keep up with the great and right additude amigo.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. Mike, you are great, and as we get closer to a potential verification of the big guys reality, it's increasingly important to come out STRONGLY on the no-kill side of the fence.
ReplyDeleteMan is the apex predator, therefor he can, should and will shoot anything that moves.
ReplyDeleteNo one really knows what sort of medical benefits Bigfoot parts might hold for mankind. Its ground up molars might make a man huge & rock hard, or its feet could potentially be the perfect size for an over-sized ash tray. You don't really know until you try.
Bigfoot might even make good barbecue. People in other countries eat monkey meat and monkey brains and they love it. Bigfoot could be just as delicious.
God didn't put man in the driver's seat to sit back and let the lesser animals run the show. We need to constantly remind the animal kingdom that we're the boss.
Bollocks.
DeleteThat is all.
Shaun, UK
With a few modifications you could use a sasquatch hide to make a really convincing gorilla costume.
DeleteWow.It's because of people like you that the planet is going to hell in a hand basket.
DeleteFor your information,Mother Nature is the Boss. Not even man can tame her.
You can keep thinking "man" is in charge.I bet if you were thrown in the woods with just the clothes on your back, you wouldn't make it very far.
The world is full of sad,sad humans.
Well said SN
DeleteWe are not the apex predictor on the planet, bacteria and the virus are the real predators.
I am a survivalist who can survive in the woods with the clothes on my back and a sturdy shank. And I would have no problem sticking Bigfoot square between the eyes with that shank - and that's exactly what I'll do if I ever run into one.
DeleteIt's no different than shooting squirrels or putting a bullet in your dog when you don't want it anymore.
Man has conquered nature, fool -- just look at what we've accomplished! Have you seen the Taj Mahal? The closest thing an animal has come to that is a termite mound.
If Bigfoot exists it will bow down to my superior knowledge and hand-to-hand fighting skills.
I'll put a leash on that stupid ape and make him ride a bicycle in the circus.
And I'm not trying to bait any Bigfoot lovers or vegetarians out there - so don't respond to this comment - I'm dead serious.
Man is the best eff the rest!
Let me know how that works out for you.
DeleteConquered nature?That's funny.
Anyway,I won't feed the trolls anymore.
Thanks for giving me a good laugh though.
I will dominate Bigfoot like I've dominated you, SasquaiNation.
DeleteRoy from Las Vegas always wins.
I like Mike. Talks sense.
ReplyDeleteShaun, UK
So who is Mike talking about the Dyer idiot?
ReplyDeleteKill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill,Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill, Kill
ReplyDeleteMike's 100% right. We need to remind ourselves, that Roy from Vegas above is a certified moronic minority, creeps like that usually end up hunted an extinct themselves. I can't believe a normal person could write that nonsense, but some people just like to be evil trolls and usually bullied themselves. Let's remember he's the little guy, the new endagered species. By the way, poachers just killed 200 elephants in Africa in the last six weeks, because of superstitious Asia. And anyway, Sasquatches probably are a human species so killing them not only endangers your own life in the act (good riddance, I suppose) but would also be murder.
ReplyDelete"clap" "clap" I applaud you anonymous at 1:09 pm.
DeleteThank you.
Let's hope for some bad karma heading for dealer Roy there, a shitty heroin shoot-up or something, what goes around comes around.
ReplyDeleteI'm 100% with you, Mike! Do it the right way or get the hell out of BF research! I have to believe that someone has the patience it takes. How do we discover new species of birds in the Amazon? With a pellet gun???
ReplyDelete...I didn't think so.
Also, when it warms up and I begin strolling through the high-country trails in the N Cascades... remember I'm up there when you're sighting down on that bipedal figure on the next ridge. I'd hate to burden my girlfriend with carrying my dead body out of the woods...
David from the PAC/NW
If you can't get a good shot of bigfoot with a camera you probably wont be able to shoot him with a gun either.
ReplyDeleteI respectfully disagree. Mike Ruggs should be commended for his work. It takes a lot of sacrifice to dedicate your life to the world of bigfootery, but this can lead to a type of idolatry. This 100% human theory comes on the winds of rumor. I love the big guy just as much as anyone else, but still believe that even with a successful DNA study science will not be persuaded to offer any push towards legislation to protect said species without a body to verify its existence. There is no case of an animal being accepted as real based solely on DNA. I'm not trying to belittle Ketchum and her contributors in any way, but this is not how you get protection for an unknown species. Doubters will remain because this is human nature. Someone in a high position is usually worried about how his constituents perceive him, and passing protective legislation without proper evidence is a quick way to lose support from the average person who sees these creatures as a boogeyman. Video evidence leaves the same taste in most peoples mouths. We live in the age of CGI. I don't want to shoot one of these creatures myself, but if a body was to surface from anywhere I would be the first to offer my congratulations, because that person would have done more to protect this species than any amount of DNA or video ever will. Look at the current state of things guys. I have met some of the Texas crew at the Tyler conference, and I can tell you these guys are not blood thirsty big game hunters. These guys are just responsible hunters who see the big picture. No one is out to kill a Sasquatch so they can hang its head on a wall. I'm sure I will catch flack for this comment, but I hope you understand there is no bloodlust involved, only a hope for protection of the species. John
ReplyDeleteMy respectful rebuttal:
DeleteIf people will be skeptical of this DNA study, with the rumored backing evidence, then they will also be suspicious of a body. What will we use to classify and identify said body? DNA! The physical evidence (corpse) will be held and processed in a lab (in much the same secretive manner), documented in private and presented as a paper... You still can't touch, see or otherwise verify the body yourself, except through the same way you could if the being was still alive... after publication, through pictures, documents and articles.
So, tell me... How would a dead Sasquatch be any better than samples collected from a live specimen? Would you believe Justin Smeja's story more if he told you he had a body, but it wasn't physycally presented like some sort of 'freak show' attraction? The only difference I see in the publics perception is that you have a dead BF or a live BF.
David from the PAC/NW
Good argument David, and hopefully you are right and this DNA study is legit and comes out in a reputable publication. I do hope the overall body of science will accept a DNA study. The resistance I feel would play out would all be faced on the fact that a huge section of Biological sciences would be turned on their heads. Once again I hope you are right. I don't want to "touch" the body, but if one was taken down tomorrow and then 3 years later there was a NatGeo documentary of the autopsy, then yes, the scientific community would have to accept its existence. You are right that it is no different than a DNA study, except for the fact that they would have the body. Doesn't get much clearer with the animals body right in front of you. New sub-species are identified quite often though pictures, but they don't come with the resistance of what is widely regarded as a mythical creature. Just because we know there is a lost tribe out there does not mean the rest of the world will believe it. I think we quite often lose sight of this fact. John
DeleteCouple of key points in your response to David. The study needs to be in a reputable journal, not just one that accepts the paper for publication. Following publication in that reputable journal, the DNA samples need to be available for further testing by other researchers. If there are no additional DNA samples, then the paper is essentially DOA as it will not pass the broader and much tougher test of the scientific community as a whole. The publication of the study is only the first step in a viable scientific study. The results have to be reproducible. That is a keystone of science. Once you can extract similar DNA and reproduce the sequencing, then science will take notice.
DeleteThose are great points! It is my hope that there is some truth to the statements about double-blind testing within the study and the search for 3rd parties to verify the findings upon publication. But alas, time will have to tell. I'm not counting on the DNA study to be the "end all"... But it could be a pretty damn good starting point.
DeleteDavid from the PAC/NW
I Like Mike!
ReplyDeleteThanks also Mr. Woolheater for tough public stand.
And Shawn for keeping it coming. I used to feel like I needed to post just so it looked like people read the stories..what 3 months ago?
I love all these people posting, especially when I agree with them or the topic is so straighforward..or seems like it should be!
Really nice to see the diversity of opinions here.
Yes yes yes.. No No No more killing!
I guess Shawn that sounded a bit strange. At the time, when I stumbled here, I figured you were just another BF blog...so many, all so lonely for posts! I regret my word choice - I have enjoyed and actually read (not so big on the video thing) a great deal of what is published here. my comment was meant as a compliment even if clumsy!
DeleteBigfoots are too tasty not to kill. Seriously, though, I agree with the earlier comment: if you can't shoot it with a camera, how can you shoot it with a gun?
ReplyDeletewhat do you mean stop shooting them? no one has shot one yet
ReplyDeleteDNA is the same as a body. Period. It's the same kind of evidence and proof, essentially. So if the DNA is good and says so, then Sasquatches exist. With or without a body. Period again. And even with a body, what's keeping the hobby skeptic from doubting still, making his opposition almost religious. In other words, the joke is now on the gnome skeptics crying for the goblin body maybe, should they choose to stay in that fantasy. lol
ReplyDeletebigfoot IS a fantasy
DeleteComment above mine is case in point. John
DeleteFantasy.
DeleteI agree with everything Mike said, and he put it quite well.
ReplyDeleteHe actually seemed riled up in a calm kind of way.I know that sounds like a contradiction, but it's the only way i can think to word it.
I could talk to Mike all day if I was given the chance.
I said this before Craig W did the right thing by distancing himself from the TBRC.
ReplyDeleteAnother good article Shawn.
I agree with that on both points.
DeleteI hope the guy who said he would stab Bigfoot was kidding. That's a terrible thing to even joke about.
ReplyDeleteGiven the chance I would probably never stop stabbing Bigfoot.
DeleteWhat will convince the world that bigfoot exists is a specimen, live or dead.
ReplyDeleteI'm all for a capture or kill. I'd prefer a capture, but how do you capture a bigfoot? A kill seems more likely to occur.
Capture it, kill it and f*ck it, not necessarily in that order.
DeleteBigfoot needs to know that it's not at the top of the food chain, man is. And when you're at the top of the food chain you can f*ck whatever you want, even Bigfoot.
You can kill one with some land mines placed in remote locations with some bait hanging over each mine.
ReplyDeleteI will need someone to prove to Bigfoot that the bait is untainted. Bigfoot is always watching.
DeleteDumb ass! Where are you going to get land mines? Even if you could, you can't plant land mines in the wilderness.
ReplyDeleteYou listen to me, you insufferably anonymous pr*ck: land mines save millions of lives every year, so don't talk sh*t about land mines.
DeleteI have several land mines in my root cellar and I will place them where Bigfoot sightings have occurred, and possibly a few picnic areas.
After I have exploded Bigfoot I will set up a ape meat stand that will sell that stupid monkey's flesh for market price.
Go f*ck yourself anonymous. I'm not going to tell you again to not use profanity on this blog.
Hi, if complete dna exists. Is there the possibility of cleaning out a human female egg inserting the sasquatch dna and implanting the viable egg into a female human volunter and have her carry it to term?
ReplyDeleteIt makes no difference to me as to how this ends, either shot or smacked by a semi-truck. End result is this is finally over and I can once again enter the woods each fall and not have to worry about the liberal tree huggers destroying my tree stand. Another reason for my desire to end this is the possibility of finaly having another species to hunt. I suspect a bigfoot rug would keep me warm during the winter months.
ReplyDeleteasshole
DeleteEven if Sasquatches turn out to be apes, it'll be illegal to hunt and kill them no question about that. Which is also why it's wrong to do, as proof, in the first place. And since apes not what they are apparently, you will face death yourself if you hurt them, either punished by their own hands or our own laws. The same to be written laws that'll protect the species' rights. What we're seeing here, from all the blood-thirsties is their personal disappointment this is all true after all. They'd so hoped there to be no reality to the Bigfoot lore, now that there is they're ever so upset having hoped so badly it could've stayed a fantasy. Alas, it's not.
ReplyDeleteYou know Roy, you should really take the meat and sell it in Japan. I think they recently paid 500k or 800k for this GIANT tuna that was caught. Largest for many, many years.
ReplyDeleteCan you imagine what they would pay for squatch sashimee OR SQUATCH AND CUCUMBEER ROLL.
Wait, wait---- Teriyaki squatch on a stick, sounds delectable with a warm saki and a cold saporo.
I think you can pull 5g a pound there know doubt!!!! Youll make millions
Good Luck
The bonus is------------
can you imagine hooooww bbaaaaadd you would piss off the acadimia heads at Harvord anthropological?????
Thanks Leon. I'll probably do that but I need your help killing Bigfoot. Are you up for that?
DeleteI don't care how I become famous, I just want fame. If I become famous as a Bigfoot restaurateur I'm down with that. If I have to take the big monkey on tour to sing at Indian casinos I'll do that too.
I see famous people on TV and I always think, "That should be me."
Are there two Leons? One who is protecting Bigfoot and one who is going to hunt with me? Now I'm confused.
I'm not pro-kill or no-kill. I'm just Huck Finn sitting on the fence watching the circus go by.
DeleteI think if you get in a position to shoot a sasquatch, the one you didn't see will probably take you out.
I think the DNA study will bare proof!
I think getting a body will be a random act of fate, logging truck or rifle.
Leon makes some good arguments. In seven encounters 5 felt very threatening to me.
ReplyDeleteUp yours, Leon. They're fucking crazy in Asia, or should that be Alien? Besides, they have their own hairy versions in the Yehren, etc.
ReplyDeleteThe only fantasy surrounding Bigfoot, is the people who think it's a fantasy. They're the ones most happy with it staying that way, they don't want it to be real and exist, because it - you guessed it - disrupts their fantasy. Bigfoot's no fantasy to the witnesses and researchers, it's a very real reality. As the DNA study will also show eventually.
ReplyDeleteHey, You know what? Shoot the sob. We want proof. Until these "bigfoot experts" come forward to show the world proof, photos, video, etc. we need a body for pictures.
ReplyDeleteHeres my two penny's. Mike Rules!!!!!!! keep up the great work Sir!!!
ReplyDelete
