Dude Who Originally Uploaded "The Beast Of Gum Hill" Bigfoot Footage Uploads New Video

Last October, the Finding Bigfoot crew visited Saltville, VA after the show’s producers saw a YouTube video, titled "Beast of Gum Hill," in which a man was riding an ATV in a river near Gum Hill, and in the background a large, dark figure crossed the stream in front of him.

The episode featuring this video will be airing this Sunday, February 12. The original video has over 146,000 views on YouTube, including several breakdown videos.

The owner of the video just uploaded a promo clip of this Sunday's episode featuring his video.

We also want to note that Matt Moneymaker unfortunately was not at the town hall meeting on this episode since he was busy camping out near Gum Hill, hoping to find traces of the Bigfoot:

"Animal Planets tv show Finding Bigfoot came down in October to shoot an episode on MY footage of The Beast Of Gum Hill. The episode will air on Animal Planet February 12th at 10pm. Here is a link to the original video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jeL9c3HoWXU"

  1. I have to admit that the context of it worries me just because I rode ATCs for years and they are freaking noisy beasts. If a creature hears one and hears it grinding up the creek bed, why would it go out into the creek bed? Perhaps if it's true and this is a parent reaching for its child, it would take the risk. I'm fairly impressed with the creature itself simply because of the shape and the gait. Very genuine. I can't wait to see Sunday's episode.

    1. Another point related tot he "gait" of the creature. As any fisherman would know, a creek bed is not the easiest to march through. You will step on rocks that move underfoot, algea makes it extremely slippery. However this things seems to stride across the creek with ease. Since i can't even do this weather river shoes, i find it hard for a man in a monkey suite to do this.

  2. I always thought it was a fake because the guy had pictures of a party on his youtube account and guess what...there was a guy dressed as bigfoot...
so who knows for sure i guess

    1. I posted a halloween party video and a couple that I didnt even know showed up the female dressed up like Princess Leia and the male had a cheap looking Chewbacca costume.

  3. Tom, thanks for the knowledge drop! That is a huge red flag in my opinion. I'm from Southwest VA and there is definitely activity there, however most people don't talk about it. I wish more researchers would dig into that area.

    1. I have family in SE West Virginia who say all the way to Blacksburg VA, there's lots of activity but you're right--no one will talk about it. I've tried to get to talk to some of the witnesses and their friends protect them from any outsiders.

  4. But in the same sense, if I had a friend that was famous for a bigfoot video, I would have no problem wearing a costume of a bigfoot for fun.

  5. well I think the analysis of the video is decent but the guess at the height of the creature is off i think...if you look at the still shot Shawn posted you can see ..don't look that tall to me...more like 6ft.
but oh well ...fun to mess with

  6. If you watch the video in real time you don't see it stop and pickup anything from the rock that I can see because even in the enhancement the dark object is still there once it moves on !

  7. When I watched this a few months ago in real time, it was too blurry. This is one of FB/FB better enhancements and although still to blurry it does seem to stop and pick up a smaller one. Have to call this one a possibility until we learn more this Sunday.

This episode will probably not cover the off camera Tyler Bounds incident. Cliff's good friend Tyler who does off camera production for Finding Bigfoot was driving through back country roads at night in Va. when something bolted from the forest and ran into his vehicle causing a lot of damage and then escaped back into the woods. Maybe Cliff will talk about it in his after show breakdown.

    1. I heard about that incident. That'll shake a person up. I wish Cliff would cover that on his blog some time.

  8. Like every other BF video, it proves absolutely nothing and is likely bullcrap

  9. @Alpha Dog
They (FB) talked alot about Tylers incident when they were at Salt Fork last time. Gave us a lot of insight on what happened. He (Tyler) had really thought he hit a someone. They also was showing us some previews of upcoming episodes....Ooops, I forgot, the Producer kept getting mad at the team for calling them episodes...My correction, they ARE Expeditions. Oh, and the Virginia one looks like a good one.

  10. Yes, he faked it.

The took us to a location where he said he shot the video. We were able to show him, based on things plainly visible in the video, that we were definitely not in the same place where he shot video. Then started making excuses, saying he wasn't sue if it was the same place. Then he actually admitted that it wasn't even the same creek .... It quickly became clear to all four of us that he was lying, and it was a hoax.

I said so bluntly on camera but they will probably only show some initial determination of it being "inconclusive". No, it was pretty conclusive that it was a hoax.

The guy was actually miffed at us because we didn't thank him afterward or say goodbye.

Yes, it was probably the same costume you see on his web page.

    2. Damn chuck, youre actually thinking some random anon is on the finding bigdoot crew....

      Delete
    3. That anon person isn't on the crew of Finding Bigfoot because no one on the show would get on a blog and say that before the show even aired,They would put their name if commenting and it would be after the show aired. just some wantabe no one that is jealous for the attention this video is getting.
