Watch Finding Bigfoot Debunk Todd Standing's Bigfoot Video (Updated)

Update:  We embedded the wrong video. This has been corrected.

We've seen many preview clips of Finding Bigfoot and it's very rare that we get a whole segment of the team debunking a claim.

Canadian Bigfoot Researcher Todd Standing has footage purportedly showing a large male Bigfoot standing up on top of a ledge and then getting back down again. "I believe that was a large male in the video, and what he was most likely doing is standing up to let the daywatcher, the female, come by, and then he got back down," said Standing.

The footage sparked many controversies about whether or not it was actually a Bigfoot.

After interviewing Todd Standing, the Finding Bigfoot crew basically debunked him on camera. Usually the four investigators are not unanimous when the witness does not seem credible. In Todd's case they all came away feeling that he was not credible.

Read below from www.huliq.com:

The Animal Planet team is heading to Canada, where they search for “what may be the most territorial Sasquatches on earth” in the Canadian Rockies.

Yet another Bigfoot encounter is caught on tape, luring the Bigfoot Field Research Organization television team to the Canadian Rockies to have a look and determine the validity of the video. However, the video is in question from the beginning, as “Todd’s [the owner of the video] reputation is very controversial in the Bigfoot community,” according to Bigfoot researcher Cliff.

“I’ll tell you what happened,” Todd says to the group. “My crew and I scouted out this area as a potential Bigfoot ‘hot spot,’ I guess you’d call it. As most people know for Bigfoot, they are nocturnal. And, we found three daywatchers, as we call them, that watch over the main group. We know that when they become alerted to your presence they move back to the main group. So, what were were doing, is we were trying to get as close as we could behind a daywatcher, so when she would come back to the main group, she would have to come back across this rock face, and that was when we were going to videotape her. Something that we didn’t anticipate was when the whole group is alerted to your presence, they don’t just ditch the daywatchers, they come back and make sure they are safe. I believe that was a large male in the video, and what he was most likely doing is standing up to let the daywatcher, the female, come by, and then he got back down and followed her back to the main group. I started to feel a lot of fear at that point, because he was enormous, he was beastly huge. It made me scared, I was afraid, I started to think, ‘What the hell have I gotten myself into?’”

After hearing his story, the group sent their regular Sasquatch stand-in, Bobo, to the area of the cliff seen in the video, to recreate the scene. Ranae, apologetically, said she thought it could be a person in a suit, while Bobo, not shockingly, dubbed it a Bigfoot. Surprisingly, Matt said he believes it is a hoax. “I think that’s a guy in a costume,” he states.

Todd, the owner of the video, says that he understands the doubts, why the team cannot rule out a man in a costume. “It can always be something else. Science needs a body,” he says.

Of course, that doesn’t mean that the team cannot find their own Bigfoots in the area. Out in the Canadian Rockies wilderness, during a nighttime research expedition, Matt and Bobo are sure they are hearing Bigfoot calls, while Cliff and Ranae initially thinks it is coyotes. Soon, however, the two are turned onto the idea that it could be Bigfoots calling in the night.

Finding Bigfoot airs tonight at 10 p.m. (ET) on Animal Planet.

  3. Wow,that's harsh for Todd.Getting no support from fellow researchers must be a hard pill to swallow for him.

  4. Is that Todd Standing I hear begrudgingly admitting we need to acquire a corpse of the Bigfoot? Sacrifice one to save many, he can buy plenty of bullets with his new DVD sales

    1. I don't think a corpse is necessary and never will be! Read up on Jane Goodall. Patience and good legal research is all that's necessary. Not trigger happy people who convince themselves that's the only way!

  5. We'll see who gets the last laugh. I believe in Todd. Finding Bigfoot, with their re-enactments is about as credible as Fact or Faked and just about as stupid. Just because you can't prove that it IS a bigfoot has not proved that it isn't a bigfoot. If I was Todd Standing, I would not disclose the area or my methods of getting close either. Jackasses like MM would come in and make it disappear.

    1. Todd would need to supply much better evidence in order for me to believe him.I'm not willing to part with my money to buy his DVD.
To each their own though, and I respect your opinion.

    2. He has captured some really great, clear, face shots of at least 3 individuals, and the watcher ducking down looks pretty good too, but like he said, no matter how good the video or photographic evidence is, it will not be good enough or will always be viewed as possibly hoaxed, so only a body would be accepted, which would be very sad and disgusting if it was outright killed for that purpose.
I think I'm curious enough to buy his DVD.

  6. As I like to say here "How Can We Debunk If You Don't Give Us Junk?" Thanks. I am sharpening my skills at figuring out what evidence smells squatchy and which just stinks.

  7. Notice how Moneymaker is usually so quick to call everything a squatch except for when someone in the same field as him has some evidence. Sure, it probably is a hoax, but I think that thing is more likely to be a bigfoot than the New York baby footage for example. He had his mind made up about Standing long before he met him.

    1. My thoughts exactly. Some jealousy here.

    2. The thought did cross my mind but please isn't that like comparing MM to Tim Fassano? Please don't do that to anyone.

      Delete
    3. No doubt, MM hears a twig snap and it's a 'squatch', but video which seems clearer than anything else they have used on their joke of a show is instantly a hoax because it comes from Standing. Im not saying some of his proof isn't fishy, but the latest facial shot he got was either the best hoax committed thus far or the real deal. My mother is in her 70s and had a face to face encounter as a child back in the 40s. When I showed her standings new preview video she started shaking her head when I showed her standings first image he put out with a couple years ago, but the newest images actually seemed to knock the air out of her. She couldn't talk to me about it in the moment and pushed the Ipad away. She said that's what she saw. My mother is about the sanest, most sober and honest person I have ever known. So I have to believe that Standing either has a rediculous amount of money for a movie monster expert, or its real. Why is it that whenever someone gets a clear image and not a blobsquatch, the clear image is instantly debunked instaed of the other way around? John

  8. Cliff is the only legit person in all of this. MM has his own agenda wanting to be the first to prove it is real.

Renae has to be the token skeptic, because of her biology background.

Bobo must of had some bad shrooms during the break between filming, because everything and anything is a Squatch.

Cliff says he wants to believe it, but without going to the actual site how can they confirm it.

    At least he is honest.

  9. The team did not "debunk" anything. Offering up that it could be a suit is not a debunk. Having Bobo duck down on a ridge is not a debunk.

    1. Yeah thank you. And this is pretty basic stuff here. Don't call this a debunk until they actually prove that it's false. This video, like most others, is inconclusive at worst.

I'm starting to worry that you're lieing with your titles in order to get clicks for your advertisers. If that continues count on me being out of here and I'll find another more integrous blog to come to every day. There was no debunking here.

    2. here's a statement from the crew saying they debunked him:

  10. I'm going to ask this again. Why would someone hoax a video with inappropriate figures? If he'd hoaxed it wouldn't he have used something that was 8 ft tall?

The close ups do look fake but I guess one of them could be real. That is the one video I wonder about.

Wouldn't it be something if they are real? Really wishful thinking I know.

Just like Larry Surface. Why would someone hoax a video and not use what we consider our preconceived notion of Bigfoot? I still think Larry's is real of something tall. I also think there are a lot of different varieties of Bigfoot.

  11. Unlike Biscardi, or even BFR), and other "for hire" Bf types, this guy spent a lot of frustrating time in front of Canadian officials for Sasquatch protection. That in itelf is more meaningful. Both Biscardi and Moneymaker have been conned by footage and denounced good footage. None of these people are experts in anything. Some of Todd's stuff appears genuine, some not. I can't say, I am not an expert and I don't have access to original digital media, or the site location, or the ability to meet and interview the videographer. The posts and opinions of these self interested Bigfoot Guys don't interest me, especially given the cavalier manner in which the Finding Bigfoot Show is run.

  12. I agree and think its great how Standing has been trying to get protection. Believe him or not at least that is one good he can say he is doing.

  13. Todd Standing has been proven a hoaxer for some time now. Don't know why they did a show with him.

  14. I'm curious.... I keep hearing he is a proven hoax... Can someone fill me on on how he was proven to be... I am in agreement that there is a lot of fishy things with this guy. I am just curious about the proof that is out there.... He seems to have a bit of a sociopathic personality to me with all his claims and drama.

It's not conclusive, but the info does point out glaring inconsistencies regarding Todd Standing.

    2. Well if it's inconclusive than he's obviously not a proven hoaxer, Right? I don't like all the jumping to conclusions that goes on around here. MM and Barakman don't debunk this video to his face, and he's no conclusive hoaxer. Just controversial.
FWIW, his clear up close shots are fishy to me.

    3. Hey,I just passed along the information I found,I didn't write it.
In my opinion the photos look fake.I'm not sure of the video because of the poor quality.
One would think that Todd would have a much better camcorder if he is able to get so close to them.
You're certainly entitled to your views,as I am mine.

    4. Thanks Nation... I went to the hall of shame page and it is just as I thought. It is amazing to read Standing's grandiose claims ans stories, then to see real evidence that shows his untruths. He had a mental illness.... a sociopathic personality.

  17. Recently, Todd Standing is coming up with more evidence than the Finding Bigfoot team. Bobo needs to spread some brown mud all over himself and quickly run through the night air in front of the camera or something.

  21. Finding Bigfoot is the biggest joke of a show, they hold these town hall meetings where they believe any friggin dumbass story from any crazed drunken yokel who is willing to talk, yet they doubt Todd Standing? Then, on Finding Bigfoot, they drive to an area that's a supposed hotspot, because what? One dipshit at your gay ass meeting says he saw a blob there once, they park and literally walk less than 100 feet into the woods. The proceed to claim every single friggin sound is a "squatch", as if nothing else lives in the friggin woods, its the dumbest damn thing on TV. I don't know if its cause Matt Moneymaker is to friggin fat to walk further, but your not gonna find a Bigfoot taking a stroll just a few feet off of a main road, its so damn retarded. The show is called finding Bigfoot, but they never find a damn thing, and they never will they way they do that stupid ass show, change the name of the show to Every Sound in the Woods is a Squatch, or Finding Jack Shit

    ReplyDelete
  22. At least Todd took Les Stroud out to the woods and legitimately hiked the area. Finding Bigfoot team while I enjoy the show gets on my nerves, as an avid outdoors men I don't see how the team ever expects to see the most elusive creature known to man where north face and llbean smelling like the local Starbucks and making more noise in the woods then a brass band. Secondly myself at 6'4" and 300 I ware a size 16 shoe have a 22" neck a 8 7/8 custom fit hat 62" chest and almost 8' span from finger tip to finger tip I've been a multi sport athlete most my life and grew up in the woods. That being said some of the "evidence" they come up with isn't so far fetched from my point of view and bobo in my opinion isn't exactly a good test subject he is just big and more fat than large frame big guy size and is far from athletic or agile enough to recreate anything but a Bigfoot taking a dump
