Robert Lindsay: Matt Moneymaker’s purported drug problems
When we learned about Matt Moneymaker's alleged drug problems two days ago, we couldn't bring ourselves to post about it. There were a number of reasons why we decided not to break the story:
- We think Matt is genuinely a good guy, but his hot temper and out-of-control ego had led to years of increasingly bitter rows within the Bigfoot community.
- From what we've heard, he will try to sue anyone who spreads what he conceives as "misinformation" about him.
- We can't verify if any of the accusations were true.
- We like the Finding Bigfoot TV show and would like to see it continue on for many more seasons. And the show would really suck without Matt and his "I'm the leader" character.
Knowing what Matt Moneymaker is capable of doing to opponents, we're not going to post what Robert Lindsay wrote about him here. Instead, here's the link to his article from last night: robertlindsay.wordpress.com.
Here's a quote from one of his sources who claims to be fairly close to Matt's inner circle:
I asked the source how sure he was of these serious charges, and he said, “Everyone in Matt’s circle of close friends, maybe 20 people or so, know about this, and they’ve known about it forever. It’s been an open secret in the Bigfoot community for ages.”Sources told me that Matt’s drug use became quite an issue on the set of Finding Bigfoot, where he was either showing up on the set stoned or using on the set. The filming went on anyway, but the producers were not happy.
When Justin Smeja heard what Moneymaker said about his "Bigfoot steak" being from a coyote, Justin fired back and wrote these comments:

So there you have it. No word from Matt Moneymaker yet about these accusations.

ReplyDeleteI gotta admit, Smeja, the last thing you should be doing is going on the attack of others. I admit that Matt has a tendency to turn things on people and do some name calling too. Boys, that is no way to get your point across except that you have small man syndrome. If your point is so weak that you have to attack the other person, then shut your traps and make your point stronger.
He might just sue you for your steak. This is the weakest form of argument by the way. What if he has a medical marijuana card? And yes, you are slandering Matt Moneymaker with this garbage.

But alas, it was simply one of the NY brothers trying to get a response from the squatch they had seen running up the hill. It's obvious on the full video and is stated on the you tube page comments. Not a big deal of course, but I think it should provide sufficient caution to the reader when presented with other "inside facts" from Mr. Lindsay.
I wouldn't blame Matt if he did need something to take the edge off from time to time. Those of us who KNOW sasquatch are really here tend to have developed nervous conditions. There's nothing that provides quite as much of a shock to the system as taking a peaceful stroll through the woods behind your house and instantly discovering that your mom was lying to you for your whole life because the boogeyman really does exist after all. And, he lives in the bushes outside of your bedroom! Some of us need a little chemical help just to build up the courage to take the trash outside.

Ironic how Ketchum, the one prominent female in all of this, has steered clear of the gossip/cat-fights and has been the most consistent in her dealing in my view. Moneymaker, Lindsay et al. are the ones engaging in all the infighting/cat fights.

Even though I'm at 1%, I hope bigfoot is true.
Matt moneymaker does not have a drug problem but yet takes medication to keep his human form. Not many know this but he is big foot and takes these special pills that turns him into a human. Sorry moneymaker but the truth need to be said.

I think Matt's character is part of what makes the show so popular. He is one of the pioneers in this field and I respect that. But I do agree that in general the Bigfoot world is full of turds.

I'm guessing it'd run along these lines: Robert Lindsay and Richard Stubstad are obviously on "Team Biscardi" and personally attacking his enemies ... while Matt Moneymaker and Adrian Erickson seem to be on "Team Ketchum."

ReplyDeleteEven if the man were a saint there is no excuse for his behavior. He is attempting to "take out" the competition and is doing an awful job of hiding this and it is backfiring as it should. He is trying to create a situation where he is viewed as most credible.
Also please consider one thing- you dont know his medical history- if he has old injuries then he may need to take pain pills to get through the physical requirements of his job.
Take a step back and look at something. Sasquatch interacted often with native americans. What did native americans do often- especially with those who are not members of the tribe? Smoke the peace pipe which many times was filled with marijuana.
ReplyDeleteMarijuana is a plant found in the wild. The Pacific Northwest is famous for marijuana fields both known, unknown and harvested by dealers and what grows in the wild.
Is it far fetched to believe Sasquatch have an affinity for marijuana and it will attract them? How many deformed prints have been found? If these creatures make nests, beds, dens, cribs and use there scat as a deterrent dont you think it is likely they will seek relief from pain when injured. What is available to help ease the pain in the deep forrests of the pacific northwest.
Wow!!! We really need the DNA results to come out. We need to prove the species first, before we start trying to figure out what they use for pain medication. (Good theory though)

I may not think to much about how the big players in the game have been handling themselves as of late, but I cant help but feel a little proud having read some rational responses to a Lindsay article. ReplyDeleteAre you actually suggesting that marijuana would cause deformities in an animal that consumes it? I must have read that wrong.
A species that has no ability to treat broken bones, fractures or otherwise would definitely be more prone to deformities due to lack of proper care. I recently damaged a ligament (lizfranc) and noticed I was walking incorrectly even after the pain subsided. I now have to see a phys therapist to correct that so I don't end up walking like a zombie for the rest of my life.
Wouldn't it also be likely that a Bigfoot would consume marijuana, tobacco and other drug related plants? There are other animals out there that do it.

ReplyDeleteMy point is an intelligent creature like Bigfoot would likely learn marijuana can alleviate pain when injured. It is a natural growing plant they have access to and was not regarded as "bad" and was smoked by almost everyone in the 18th and 19th century. My precise point is that it is a natural conclusion Bigfoot would ingest the substance and I believe very likely considering the use of native americans.

Marijuana grows in the wild and the government destroys most growing in the wild. The smell of marijuana would likely attract Sasquatch and that is likely one reason why MM may have it with him.

ReplyDeleteMM doesn't do cocaine, and never did cocaine. He doesn't drink alcohol, at all. He smokes cigarettes (a lot) and drinks sugar-free Red Bulls (a lot). The guy who spread this rumor about MM being a drug abuser is a "frenemy" in Nor Cal who has a serious addiction to Valium and Oxycontin. That same guy also happens to be a professional pot grower and is no stranger to the law. People who know that guy know that he makes up stories like that with no hesitation, especially when he feels some rivalry toward someone, like MM.

MM doesn't show up on drugs for the taping of Finding Bigfoot, but there is a person who almost always shows up on drugs for the taping of Finding Bigfoot, and that person upsets the production company because of it ... That person does exactly what he claims MM does, but he tells people that MM is the problem cast member with the drug problem. Both the production company and Animal Planet know very well who has the drug problem, and they know its not MM.
