Oregon Bigfoot Blog inviting you to pledge "Standing for Sasquatch", only if you're willing to send in a nice photo of yourself

How cool is this? The Oregon Bigfoot Blog is encouraging witnesses, researchers and aficionados to participate in a pledge to stand up for Sasquatch. Their mission is to get those interested in studying and interacting with Bigfoot to treat them in a kind, thoughtful and respectful way.

As a pledge, they are currently asking people to send in their names and photos of themselves along with a note about their interests on the subject of Bigfoot. You could write about anything thought-provoking or humorous, serious or lighthearted. If you're down with it, why not take the pledge below?

OUR PLEDGE

While we are curious to know what Bigfoot is, we understand that with curiosity comes responsibility and accountability. Regardless of what the nature of these creatures may be, in our attempts to interact with them we pledge to conduct ourselves in a way that is thoughtful and respectful. We respect their right to exist on this planet without interference from us and to remain unharmed, either directly or indirectly, by our actions. We respect that Sasquatch have their own lifestyle and/or culture. We will remember that each Sasquatch is an individual, not a specimen, and will treat them as such. We respect their right to initiate contact or decline our attempts at contact and any contact will be mutual. We will continue to focus our efforts on maintaining and improving the environment that we share, for their sake as well as our own.

They already have a few people pledging and one of them is Thom Cantrall of GhostsOfRubyRidge.com. Thom Cantrall was the person who posted the announcement of a conference being held in May 2012 about Primal People where they will be talking about Homo sapiens hirsutii, or "Hairy man":

Thom Cantrall

[Thom Cantrall is a witness and experiencer from Washington. He has had an interest in and experiences with these primal people for well over fifty years. Three of the most prominent experiences can be read at www.GhostsOfRubyRidge.com Just click on the Cryptozoology page to read and enjoy.]

My name is Thom Cantrall and I stand for Sasquatch.

I have severe worries concerning the upcoming time of knowing. I’m am so afraid that it will open a war on these elusive and beautiful people. Countering this will be those will want to close off all access to all of the rural places in order to “protect” them… when, actually, all they really want is to close off access and stop the activity there with Sas being but an excuse. These primal people don’t NEED any protection other than equal rights under the law so it becomes illegal in ALL jurisdictions to kill one of them. And… they need us to protect the earth herself. For the first time, we have the ability to destroy the world without firing a shot… Major predator species are being destroyed and removed at alarming rates. This will destroy the balance in nature and the effects will be catastrophic. It is NOT North America that is causing this, but other nations, especially those in the far east. Times are precarious and as my Teacher says… “Get close to your Creator and stay there!”

  2. I just sent in my submission. How awesome. I agree. It's time to have some people countering the "hunting" group to help think about "what do we do when some yahoo finally abducts one?" BF needs his reps to remind people that he is a form of human.

  3. I'd pledge if I believed in bigfoot. As for the rest of it, I think we may have killed our planet already. I hope not, but it's possible.
