Erickson Project: How Erickson and the Olympic Project obtained Bigfoot tissue samples

Bigfoot blood tissue on a plate.
(Note: Robert Lindsay was originally asked
by Adrian Erickson's wife to remove photo, but it's now back up again)

It was a big day today for the Erickson Project news! First we found out that the Bigfoot shot by hunters was actually pregnant. And now we've learned about some of the strange ways the tissues samples were obtained by the Erickson Project and the Olympic Project.

First, here's an update from Robert Lindsay on the Sierra Shootings saga:

Here is what happened: Justin Smeja apparently shot and killed two Bigfoots in Plumas County, California, in October 2010. All evidence seems to point to the theory that this shooting did actually occur. However, my sources do not believe that Smeja retained the bodies on that day. The first one was shot for whatever reason, and the second was shot to get evidence. Smeja told my source that he “hid” the little one. This lines up with his continuing testimony on Bigfoot forums that he buried it with branches.

As Smeja, by his own admission, was in no condition to go back to the site right away, who went back to get the bodies? My source says that the Olympic Project went back with him. After all, they had a team all set to go almost right away after they heard of the shootings. So some group went back there, and they located at least 15 pounds of Bigfoot flesh, by Smeja’s own admission on his forum posts. Smeja’s piece that he sent to Ketchum weighed about 2 pounds. That was 1/4 of what he says he took. He and the driver split the Bigfoot slice. So the slice weighed 15 pounds in total.

My source feels that Smeja has two whole bodies. He’s felt this way from the very start. He said that Smeja and his friends like to engage in some sort of fishing, possibly commercial fishing, for sharks. He says that means that they have huge freezers to store the sharks in. The source said that Smeja has put the bodies on ice in these freezers, possibly after chopping them up.

The question is that if Smeja has a body or bodies, why has he not gone public with them? The source said that Smeja was put in contact with the Olympic Project, who attempted to contain the bodies and prevent their release from upstaging the Ketchum project that they were involved in. They did this by getting parts of the bodies involved in Ketchum’s DNA project.

Derek Randles also browbeat Smeja for a long time that he was going to go to prison for killing the Bigfoots. Therefore, Smeja was prevented from releasing the bodies and short-circuiting Ketchum’s project. Further, by involving the bodies in Ketchum’s project, Smeja is all tied up in legal NDA’s about the Sierra Kills and apparently the bodies too, assuming they exist.

If he goes public with the bodies or any of the flesh, he is conceivably violating multiple NDA’s and can be sued. So he’s screwed. He could have been the guy who discovered Bigfoot, but now he’s relegated to a secondary role.

Why did my source go pubic with the Sierra Kills information? He said that he put Smeja in contact with Randles with the spoken objective of having the bodies released to science. Randles was on board with this. However, as soon as Randles got in contact with Smeja, all communication was cut off with the source.

The source felt that Randles had screwed him. Instead of releasing the bodies or their parts to science, the Olympic Project had secreted them away as part of the Ketchum Project. The source was angry, so he released the Sierra Shootings story to the media.

The source says that this is part of the race to discover Bigfoot. By tying Smeja up with NDA’s and wrapping him in with Ketchum, Smeja was prevented from being the guy who discovers Bigfoot. Instead, those honors go to Ketchum, who the OP is tied in with.

Robert also explains where and how they got the Bigfoot blood tissue on a plate:

Blood and tissue obtained from the Kentucky habituation site. The team put superglued glass shards on plates, then put food on the plates that the Bigfoots were used to feeding off of every night. This is the result. Bigfoot blood and tissue on the plate.

  1. It's a hot and stick mess, huh? I just don't know at this point what to believe. I remember a couple hunters talking big about getting a BF and putting it in a fridge. Am I having deja vu?

  2. Hard to tell who's telling the truth now. The plot, as they say, thickens.

  3. After this long I call BS on the whole mess. They have had the possibility of having the ultimate proof.... The bodies, but yet they wait on Dna test results? In a few months I am sure the dna, bodies and other evidence will be confiscated by "the men in black", the forestry industry or some other story. I guarantee something will be concocted
to explain it away. That, or this is some elaborate movie promotion LOL.

  4. The Sierra Kills story is troubling...from the shooter to the long line of "professionals" that seem not to have notified any "authority."

It may be there is a "cover-up" by our Government, but even if so it is still the responsibility of citizens to use the established infrastructure we have all voted in...

As for the glass shards on the plate, this info is correct and disappointing. Trust is key in a "habituation" site (baiting site) and a surprise glass meal is a certain betrayal of that. More importantly it opens the routes of infection for a people without benefit of doctors or dentists. An "f" on technique there, it's classic BF amateur stuff and unfortunately this is the team with paid "biologists."

So, perhaps the DNA data shall be reliable, but the manner in obtaining less professional or compassionate than one would hope.

  5. an aside for those trying to collect BF DNA:

an effective and non-injurous alternative to glass on a plate would be Velcro (the plastic tines) glued down to your baiting plate. The tines will pull enough saliva or cheek cells (no blood required) and might have the added benefit of being an enjoyable tickle to the tongue....these are BF's you have been trying to convince your "food" is safe....don't blow it. Your long term relationship is worth more than a one event collection. Behavior will be the next real hurdle...and DNA won't reveal that...only long term observations will. Trust will be essential.

Although baiting is a no-no in Anthro circles, the whole BF scene is under the radar of true scientific scrutiny, as yet....and this stuff prevails.

Unfortunately, there is little that BF's seem to desire of our world, besides a decent meal and perhaps a little music. So, if you go the baiting route choose good and natural foods that will not perish or spoil quickly. Instead of sucrose/processed items use natural sugars in fruits, etc.

Check your wildlife laws, many counties forbid feeding any wildlife.

Some have succeeded using mouse "glue" trap sticky on trails and places a BF may rub against..

I am looking for new ideas...anyone?

  6. Wow, sound like some people have their priorities messed up. Why would you want to hurt them? Putting broken glass on a plate? That is horrible! Someone needs to tie you down and give you paper cuts all over your hands. What a complete betrayal you offer them. It's no wonder they are so afraid of us. People like you are the reason I believe they should never be found and remain hidden from the world. The only people that deserve knowledge of them are the ones they deem worthy. I am utterly disgusted!

  7. I find no good reason to believe any of this. All of the claims are unsubstantiated. Why bother with DNA testing if you've got bodies? Why cut a piece of thigh off instead of a Foot? Or a hand? That would certainly settle the matter. I suspect this is all just hot air, much ado about nothing.
Really, we are at a point with all the hoaxing that nothing short of a type specimin will suffice. Why bother entertaining any of this? If there really is good evidence from these events, this is as good a time as any to show it. Otherwise all we have here is marketing hype of the Barnum variety.

  8. The behavior of these so-called Bigfoot researchers is inhumane and disgusting. Lindsay likes to claim there is a government cover-up of Bigfoot's existence, but from what I can tell, the biggest cover up comes from these so-called research organizations themselves, such as OP. All this talk of NDAs to protect profits and egos? Please. Release the evidence to real scientists, of which Dr. Ketchum isn't one of.

  9. Seriously...supergluing glass to a plate to cut them up? Real pro. You'd think that there would be plenty of DNA in a habitation environment. This whole project is becoming quite the joke. I thought we might finally get proof of Bigfoot. Now I doubt anything will come of the Erickson project, Olympic Project, or Ketchum project.

  10. I think using shards of glass on a plate is typical for amateurish and thoughtless people.
I have no doubt that a painless method would be available to such "professionals".
The results, whenever that may be,are less appealing to me than they were in the beginning.
These people carry little if any weight as far as I'm concerned.
    Hardly the work of scholars.

  11. Does anyone really believe that this whole bigfoot shooting story isn't 100% B.S.?

  12. Here is a good post on why the EP footage hasn't been released:
    http://www.123people.com/ext/frm?ti=person%20finder&search_term=leila%20hadj-chikh&search_country=US&st=person%20finder&target_url=http%3A%2F%2Fdapht.blogspot.com%2F2011%2F03%2Fthat-kentucky-thing-again.html&section=blog&wrt_id=262

WHO in EP used glass to bait? The fresh out PhD biologist? The engineer sidelining as a B.S. biologist? Or the original property owners...which would make more sense than trained biologists using such base collection methods...

A little further looking finds complaints on the Texas Fraud board website by...of all people - a Bigfoot sample submitter complaining Ketchum never returned the sample or provided results...

And of course the Justin Smeja story seems to still be changing...as does the TBRC "incident shooting" explanations. Can you believe the owners agreed to have them back?

Paulides finally lists some of the NABS team, but note BOB H seems to arrive from "somewhere," with no note of his BFRO years?

It's a common thread in this BF world... hoping spin is more important than facts and a lot of spin is happening now...

given the many exaggerations and claims of "ME" we are enduring from all of these groups.. from Paulides Sasquatch Genome Project proclamation -(apparently he founded DNA study of Sasquatches) to the shooters confidence he's A-OKAY and cool too, it's no wonder we are all getting just a bit cranky.

It is sounding as though the groups have some serious cracks. Surviving peer review is tough enough, but with these groups and methods, surviving popular opinion might be even tougher.

perhaps a short statement is in order...like anything official from Ketchum herself? A prayer on Facebook for a blogger and no explanation of her absence at the conference is all we get?

  13. I still think the whole putting glass in food bait is repugnant. Really really repugnant. That literally blows away any credibility of the Erickson project. If you folks were anywhere near anything that was remotely respectable and creditable then you would have found some other way to get some DNA. Just God awful and repulsive.

  14. I think that Smeja will get what he deserves for his immoral shooting of these two creatures, and from this article it would seem that being relegated to a secondary role is a great starting spot. I guess we will soon discover how this will play out.
