Breaking: Loren Coleman Confirms at Cryptopalooza That his Museum now Owns the Display Body of The Minnesota Iceman!

Lupe Mendoza, one of the admins at Team Tazer Bigfoot Fan page, reported that Loren Coleman while speaking to the public attendees at the Crypotpalooza event this weekend, he confirmed that his museum now owns the display body of the Minnesota Iceman. Both the supposed original body incased in ice and the purported duplicate for display have been missing for years and have not been seen since the late 70’s.

What was not directly confirmed if this is actually the frozen display body or a possible duplicated created by the original owner promoter and exhibitor Frank, who travel around the country to display the supposed frozen creature.

Per Wikipedia: "Promoter and exhibitor Frank Hansen claimed the Minnesota Iceman was discovered in the region of Siberia and that he was acting as its caretaker for an absentee owner he described as an "eccentric California millionaire". Touring carnivals and fairs with the exhibit, Hansen was once reportedly detained by Canadian customs officials, who were concerned he was transporting a cadaver.

While searching for evidence of Bigfoot in 1968, cryptozoologists Ivan Sanderson and Bernard Heuvelmans, reportedly examined the Iceman in Hansen's house trailer in Minnesota, and concluded it was a genuine creature, saying they found "putrefaction where some of the flesh had been exposed from the melted ice."

    1. The Smithsonian IS a hoax.

    2. I wouldn't trust the Smithsonian necessarily, either. If you do, YOU might be 7, or 6, and naive.

    3. Right... the Smithsonian has buried countless finds over the years if they don't gel with darwinism or what the world perceives to be the history at the time... the giants from the Grand Canyon is a perfect example.

    5. To answer the original question, no. Though it's a very confusing situation, and even people who have investigated it for years (like Coleman, for example) can't say for certain what went on. It's so long ago, and there are so many stories and claims and memories involved, it is just not going to produce much at this point. Still, it's cool that he managed to get ahold of one of the bodies, presumably a copy (if there ever was an "original" body to begin with.)

  3. Most likely it's the display body though, if it is the original that would be interesting. There were reports in 2004 that the Iceman was buried in an undisclosed and unmarked grave in a California forest. In January 2012 Cryptomundo.com, published the photographs via the “the true story behind Frank Hansen’s infamous Minnesota Iceman” in a 2011 book by Rick West, "Pickled Punks & Girlie Shows: A Life Spent on the Midways of America."

  4. They created a duplicate and that's what this museum has? What good is that? How could this not be a fake?

    1. You mean a fake display body of a fake display body? I'm more interested in the real body, probably stashed away somewhere in a hangar.

    2. yeah, it's in a hanger. probably stored right between the real "half-monkey-half-fish" mermaid skeleton and a crashed ufo.

    3. What good is it? Well, it's a fascinating little piece of history. He runs a museum about this stuff, remember? It's a nice relic and will make an awesome display. It's not a "fake", it is a genuine copy of the supposed body, and was seen by many people who will remember seeing the Iceman on display. This is a great thing to have found, especially at this late date when it was assumed lost.

  6. I doubt there was ever a flesh and blood body. When serious inquiry began, Hanson admitted that the body he was presently showing was a rubber replica(see photo) and claimed the "real" body was put under wraps as per the millionaires instruction. This convenient accounting is given some weight because, as Bravo mentions, respected cryptozoologists think the body they saw(still frozen at the time) was real.

The main benefactor of this affair was one Roger Patterson, as the publicity brought interest to his
    own road show.

    1. As the beard of Bob Titmus I can tell you that the Minnesota Iceman is a fascinating combination of bigfoot lore. It is directly responsible for some of the miconconceptions regarding the pgf film as well.

Take the John Chambers connection. Chambers had nothing to to with pgf. He was approached to build the iceman and passed the work off to an associate. Because pgf and the iceman were contemporary hoaxes, Chambers name has been mistakenly attached to the pgf due to his limited involvement with the Minnesota Iceman.

Biscardi and Blevins rant about the pgf being seized by Canadian customs agents. There is no doubt in my mind that the story was the actual examination/confession/explanation that took place when the Minnesota Iceman exhibit was stopped as it entered Canada.

Bleevers of the ludicrous have suggested the Iceman was one of a group bigfeets taken down at the Bluff Creek massacre. Again we see two concurrent bigfoot stories intertwining.

As Bob Titmus' beard I wish the old bugger was still alive to tell his tales. Full of shit or not, he was there. The number of living contemporaries is dwindling, it would be nice to get some final answers.

I like the Iceman. Always have. It looked cool under the ice, it looks even cooler unfrozen. But make no mistake, there was no replacement body made.

Under pressure, Hanson deforsted the original form, repostured it and added teeth, then sold the pig a second time round. Hell, I'd pay to see it if it came to town in these parts.

the beard of Bob Titmus is waxing nostalgic of the days when bigfoot was more than an endless internet argument. Whether proponent or doubter, bigfoot should always stimulate our minds to never stop imagining about things.
