This story was circulating the internet way back in 2004, or maybe as far back as 1999. Back when everybody was on 56k dial-up modems and a "Facebook" was just a regular book with directory listing of names and headshots. This story was so disturbing and so shocking that nobody believed it at the time. It was the Robert Lindsay " Bear Hunter: Two Bigfoots Shot and DNA Samples Taken " story of the time. And like Robert's Bear Hunter story , this witness didn't have a name. The only thing known about the witness is that this person was a government employee, anonymous of course. The author of the story was a science teacher named Thom Powell who believe it really happened and that the whole story was an elaborate cover-up. Powell said the anonymous government employee alerted the BFRO about a 7.5 feet long/tall burn victim with "multiple burns on hands, feet, legs and body; some 2nd and 3rd degree burns". The thing about these old stories is there's nothing at all to verify them except in some cases a newspaper article. Back in the day it was a common practice to make up sensational stories to sell papers. Often a story about such creatures would pop up only to have absolutely no follow-up. These stories offer little of value in proving the case for Bigfoot's existence.

Yeah, some papers made stuff up... but what are the chances of ALL these newspaper reports being bunk, when there’s such a consistent stream of evidence spanning different cultures over hundreds of years? While offer no value as proof... It would be illogical to claim these articles have no value at all, given the hundreds of years of anthropological data preceding such articles, and the physical evidence, footage & audio since. In fact, if these reports in articles didn’t exist, people would point to a hole in the timeline.

This place has become pretty sad. I use to come here regularly but like you have reduced it down to about once or twice a week. Not much traffic anymore and I have to think that most of the believers who came here realized they were beating a dead horse so to speak. Bigfoot sightings nationwide have increased 248 percent since the 2011, due to belief in the subject becoming less taboo, and people having the confidence & platforms to do so without ridicule. The physical evidence for Bigfoot is now peer reviewed and amateur researchers continue to gather more examples of such that would be good enough for any other biological research topic. The DNA comes back Human... And Sykes came, found credence in a whole community in Eastern Europe describing a yeti, and even theorised as to sub-species of Homo sapiens Leaving Africa 100,000 years ago.
