    4. For those of us that are adjusted to life, try to imagine an internet site you would visit daily, looking for attention, any attention, both positive and negative. Imagine a place where the people who respond to you, weigh heavily on your mind just before just before fall asleep at night. Now, imagine if that internet site was Bigfoot Evidence. That, my friends, is the personal hell that Stuey, Dr. Squatch and some other Anonymous posters are living. The turmoil and loneliness that must construct their lives is unimaginable.

    8. On January 13th, 1973, Jack Buck returned home from a hunting trip to find his house surrounded by police cruisers with flashing lights. His 26 year old wife, Gloria, had been beaten, stabbed, and shot in the head. His six year old daughter Tracy and five year old son Scott had also been stabbed to death. Gloria's hands were covered with defensive wounds- she had fought for her life and the lives of her children. "It was definitely a scary person who could do something like this", said Detective Brad Daugherty, who wasn't yet born when the crime was committed.

      Delete
    9. 12 days later, on January 25th, that "scary person" struck again. 13 year old Linda Sue Dearth and her 17 year old brother Robert were home from school due to the funeral of President Lyndon B. Johnson. Robert left the house for approximately two hours, returning before noon, to find his sister dead. She had been raped and shot three times in the head. It was several months before they linked the murders. They found that both Gloria and Linda had been shot with the same gun, a Ruger .22 that had been stolen from a gun case in the Buck home. There was a second link as well. Both families had advertised items for sale in a local publication, the 'Tradin' Post'- a car, for the Dearths, and a television set, for the Bucks.

    10. 41 years later, there have been no answers, and no justice for the four victims. These murders haven't been linked to any others, and there have been no suspects identified. I browsed online looking for serial killers who may have been active near the area around that time with similar MO's, but no one stood out. How could/why would a person commit two murders in 12 days and then stop? Did they simply move on to another area? What was their motive? Why would the killer sexually assault Linda Sue Dearth, but not Gloria Buck (there was no mention of her being raped in any of the information I read)? How did they get into both homes to commit these murders in broad daylight without being noticed? Why did they use a mix of stabbing, strangling, and shooting their victims? After 41 years, I'm not sure those questions will ever be answered, but I would love to see some insight from some people taking a fresh look at this tragedy.

    11. Brookville is right on I-70 in between Columbus and Indianapolis, nearly on the Ohio/Indiana border. My guess, due to location (I-70 is an extremely common transport route) and the use of a free sales magazine (murder likely picked it up from a stand and used it as a tool, as he was unfamiliar with the area / victims). Also makes sense that there weren't similar murders in the area afterwards - the murdered had moved on. However, the variety of victims (adult/teen females, children) and methods of murder (shooting, strangulation, stabbing, rape, etc) are wildly varied. Combined with the fact that Ms. Buck was not raped, it may be likely that this was a sort of delusional / manic murderer rather than a sex fiend.

    13. On November 25, 1988, four boys abducted Furuta, a third-year high school student from Misato, Saitama Prefecture, and held her captive for 40 days in a house in the Ayase district of Adachi, Tokyo,[1] owned by the parents of one of the boys, a 17-year-old named Jō, who was later given the surname Kamisaku.[2] Furuta was a student at Yashio-Minami High School and she had been kidnapped shortly after leaving school.[3]

To avoid concern over her abduction, the perpetrators forced Furuta to call her parents and tell them that she would be staying at a friend's house for a while. Over the course of her confinement, Furuta was repeatedly raped, beaten, and tortured by her four captors until they killed her.[2] The parents of Kamisaku were present[where?] for at least a part of the time that Furuta was held captive, and though she pleaded with them for help, they did not intervene, later claiming that they feared their son too much to do so.[2]

The killers hid her corpse in a 208-litre oil drum filled with concrete. They disposed of the drum in a tract of reclaimed land in Kōtō, Tokyo.

    14. The boys were arrested and tried as adults, but, because of Japanese handling of crimes committed by juveniles, their identities were concealed by the court.

For his participation in the crime, Kamisaku served eight years in a juvenile prison before he was released in August 1999. In July 2004, he was arrested for assaulting an acquaintance, whom he believed to be luring a girlfriend away from him, and allegedly bragged about his earlier infamy.[2] Kamisaku was sentenced to seven years in prison for the beating.

In July 1990, a lower court sentenced the leader to seventeen years in prison, one accomplice to a four-to-six-year term, one accomplice to a three-to four-year term, and another accomplice to an indefinite five-to-ten-year term. The leader and the first two of the three appealed their rulings. The higher court gave more severe sentences to the three appealing parties. The presiding judge, Ryūji Yanase, said that the court did so because of the nature of the crime, the effect on the victim's family, and the effects of the crime on society. The leader received a twenty-year sentence, the second highest possible sentence after life imprisonment. Of the two appealing accomplices, the one that originally got four to six years received a five-to-nine-year term, and the other had his sentence upgraded to a five-to-seven-year term.[4]

Furuta's parents were dismayed by the sentences received by their daughter's killers, and won a civil suit against the parents of the boy in whose home the crimes were committed.

    1. I'm not sure there was much of a motive for Israel Keyes. He was a through and through psychopath. He had no conscience and a very numbed experience of emotions. When he raped and killed and elicited terror in victims he felt a sense of power and he experienced the closest thing to a sensation of emotion as he could. Murder for a psychopath is like a drug in this way. It's powerfully reinforcing.
But maybe you mean why did he target who he targeted? I think part of his power trip was successfully alluding police by planning perfect murders. As such, unlike other serial killers, he didn't have a specific victim. His victims were just those that had the misfortune of fitting well into his murder game plan.

  3. I now conceive of Bigfootery as being as intellectually bankrupt as creationism. Why? Because the Bigfoot proposition, like creationism, is tested on a daily basis. It has failed on a daily basis, and has failed on a daily failed for decades.

How specifically is the Bigfoot proposition tested on a daily basis? First off, as mentioned earlier, roadkill. Bigfoot is asserted to be a real animal, whose range is the entire North American continent. For decades now, drivers travel literally billions of miles on those roads each year. Traffic is constant. Animals of all kinds both common and rare, like Florida panthers, are killed. Not a single Sasquatch. Hikers traverse the wilderness daily, including the alleged habitation areas of Bigfoot. Humans by nature are curious, and anomalous details stand out. A human shaped skull the size of a basketball would stand out, as would virtually ANY part of a humanoid carcass. The natural curiosity of hikers is an unintentional test for all sorts of anomalies, such as aircraft debris occasionally found in the wilderness. No Bigfoot carcass has ever been found in North America. Geologists, road engineers, paleontologists, and others dig and move earth on a daily basis in North America. Though most are not intentionally looking for Bigfoot fossils, anomalous fossils would be noticed, as would all sorts of anomalies. Wildlife photographers capture high resolution, unambiguous photographs of all sorts of animals, including very rare ones, on a daily basis. In 50 years of Bigfootery, the number of clear and unambiguous photographs or motion pictures of Sasquatch produced by non-Bigfoot advocates is zero.

The claim by Bigfoot advocates that Bigfootery is a legitimate scientific question continues to function as effective propaganda because the notion of unintentional testing is non-obvious.

For many years now, creationists have tried to argue that creationism is a legitimate scientific question. “Teach the Controversy” they argue. It’s a subtle form of propaganda. Creationists attempt to stage public “debates” with top scientists. In this way, creationists are subtly attempting to persuade by suggesting the issue is a legitimate controversy, and that the creationist’s argument and evidence is equivalent to that offered by legitimate scientists. Bigfoot advocates engage in a similar form of propaganda, though I suspect that they do so unconsciously.

By causing “Bigfoot skeptics” to continually respond to putative evidence, Bigfoot advocates tacitly position the Bigfoot proposition as a valid scientific question. Furthermore, this obscures the damning flaw of Bigfootery, which is that the Bigfoot proposition is unintentionally tested daily, and fails daily.

    1. There is 150 years worth of archeological records that have documented 7-8 foot skeletons in the US. Sasquatch isn't a dumb animal that's gonna decide to run across the path of a vehicle like cats do on occasions. The amount of eyewitnesses that account for people reporting sightings whilst in vehicles is phenomenal.

For the circumstances of recognised creatures being photographed, these images are attained by professionals with professional equipment and are in a familiar, relaxed environments. I find it laughable that most "sceptics" require photographs when every photograph or footage has and always will be a "man in a suit" to them. This is the appliance of rhetorical arguments to make the perception of normal debate. Even wildlife photographers are assigned specific instructions and are allocated specific areas that would imply specific results. You would have to know how to track a Sasquatch for that. They erect little hideouts that don't do much for hiding against a creature with the wilderness awareness of five green berets, whereas the majority of this field are people from the general public who have to capture images of a far more evasive and intelligent creature than that of the projects of most wildlife biologists (the innumerable blobsquatches testify to this)."

Apart from that, a whole load of classic pseudosceptical special pleading. It doesn't matter how many rants & tantrums these people have, they can't wish away the track impressions & hair samples. Obsessed "Bigfoot" pseudosceptics engage in disinformation... And the Virgin Mary doesn't leave tracks.

    14. When the classic obsessive Bigfoot "sceptic" has nothing but an illogical, culture hopping hoaxing conspiracy theory as a means of explaining away all this "putative evidence", then not only is the comment ever so slightly audacious... But considering that there's no way of explaining away what's allegedly so pseudoscientific, they now claim the evidence warrants no response.

Now if that's not a failure, then I don't know what is. Pseudoscepticism is a fundamental, quasi-religion.

    16. Well, I was thinking more leave him somewhere other than the lines, but somewhere a responsible adult would see him and take him to a police station. I believe they went past the station to get there. I dont think they killed him because he'd suffered some very minor (considering what eventually happened) injury. I'm of the view they succeeded in what they set out to do, so yeah definitely they thought he was an object. When the details came out of how they'd had a bad upbringing that was the very first time I actually thought about how I would be as a parent. Thankfully, my daughter is the complete opposite of them
