I now conceive of Bigfootery as being as intellectually bankrupt as creationism. Why? Because the Bigfoot proposition, like creationism, is tested on a daily basis. It has failed on a daily basis, and has failed on a daily failed for decades.
How specifically is the Bigfoot proposition tested on a daily basis? First off, as mentioned earlier, roadkill. Bigfoot is asserted to be a real animal, whose range is the entire North American continent. For decades now, drivers travel literally billions of miles on those roads each year. Traffic is constant. Animals of all kinds both common and rare, like Florida panthers, are killed. Not a single Sasquatch. Hikers traverse the wilderness daily, including the alleged habitation areas of Bigfoot. Humans by nature are curious, and anomalous details stand out. A human shaped skull the size of a basketball would stand out, as would virtually ANY part of a humanoid carcass. The natural curiosity of hikers is an unintentional test for all sorts of anomalies, such as aircraft debris occasionally found in the wilderness. No Bigfoot carcass has ever been found in North America. Geologists, road engineers, paleontologists, and others dig and move earth on a daily basis in North America. Though most are not intentionally looking for Bigfoot fossils, anomalous fossils would be noticed, as would all sorts of anomalies. Wildlife photographers capture high resolution, unambiguous photographs of all sorts of animals, including very rare ones, on a daily basis. In 50 years of Bigfootery, the number of clear and unambiguous photographs or motion pictures of Sasquatch produced by non-Bigfoot advocates is zero.
The claim by Bigfoot advocates that Bigfootery is a legitimate scientific question continues to function as effective propaganda because the notion of unintentional testing is non-obvious.
For many years now, creationists have tried to argue that creationism is a legitimate scientific question. “Teach the Controversy” they argue. It’s a subtle form of propaganda. Creationists attempt to stage public “debates” with top scientists. In this way, creationists are subtly attempting to persuade by suggesting the issue is a legitimate controversy, and that the creationist’s argument and evidence is equivalent to that offered by legitimate scientists. Bigfoot advocates engage in a similar form of propaganda, though I suspect that they do so unconsciously.
By causing “Bigfoot skeptics” to continually respond to putative evidence, Bigfoot advocates tacitly position the Bigfoot proposition as a valid scientific question. Furthermore, this obscures the damning flaw of Bigfootery, which is that the Bigfoot proposition is unintentionally tested daily, and fails daily.
^ There are several differences here - firstly this post is well written and applies logic to a subject full of inconsistencies and foolish presumptions - secondly, this is a "paste and cut" post - diktomi merely posts stolen cut n` pastes.
It definitely see there was a connection to the ads they placed and it's not merely coincidence. I wonder why they never explored phone records? Or, did they? A call like that would take time and it seems enough time to be traceable. Also, how many calls could they have received? Really scary. Strange that only the girl was raped. This killer was a thrill killer. Reminds me a bit of the killer from Colorado who answered an ad for a room for rent them brutally murdered the landlord. Well, it makes me think of that murder but not sure how similar they were.
In an attempt to fake his death, a man digs up an old woman's body, dresses it as himself, and pushes his car over a cliff with this body inside. Then he uses charcoal lighter fluid to burn the car. Police are suspicious and begin to do DNA testing on the body. A month later, he is introduced to his son as his mom's new boyfriend, when in reality all he had done to disguise himself is dye his hair black. He even tried to fool a cop involved in the investigation into thinking he was someone else. He was caught and is serving 20 years in prison for insurance fraud and arson.
Well there are a number of factors and variables that are used to determine how a person acts guilty. In Stephen's case it was very evident because of what he did with the remains. He placed them in a dumpster nearby like a child that wet the bed. So reverting to a child like state while being interviewed was no shocker to the detectives interviewing him. He says it was so that he could plead insanity, but he was pre law, he had to have known an insanity plea requires a complex and very specific set of emotional displays and actions. All he did was give one word answers and speak very softly, like he acknowledged what he did but simply could not admit it. A psychopath who is truly insane would, for example, admit the crime but coherently expect it to be a case of self defense due to an imaginary threat they would insist is real. An innocent person would be able to provide accurate statements even in a stressful circumstance with minor inconsistencies. For example, the most suspicious thing Stephen did during his newscast interview was over react to the reporter stating that a body had been found on campus. She never said it was Laura, and his first instinct was to remove himself from the camera, it was a feigned emotional response. An innocent person most likely would have asked if the body found was Laura showing a true concern for her whereabouts over emotion. I'm not implying that an innocent person would not walk away from the camera, just that there are variables in how a person with guilt would typically behave. I don't think it's creepy in retrospect, it just appears creepy because of how he handled the interrogation like a weepy child expecting that to be a good reason for an insanity plea.
Kind of similar to this in that the murderer had a very public media interview in the immediate aftermath is Eric Williams. He murdered an Assistant District Attorney in Kaufman County Texas outside the courthouse. He gave a really cocky sort of interview to the media where he talked about being talked to by the authorities because they were "of course talking to everyone" along with throwing out some theories on what could have happened. He later went on to murder two more people, the elected district attorney and the district attorney's wife, after he realized that the elected DA knew about the threats he made to the ADA and that there might be things he said in his interview linked up with that.
Wow! I know this is going to sound incredibly dumb, but when I imagine someone doing something so gruesome, I don't picture a guy like this. I imagine someone really off, someone who doesn't seem to show a lot of emotion. I know you only see him talk for a couple minutes so it seems silly, but he seems like a regular weird college guy - not someone who would dismember a body and then try to act like nothing happened after.
I'd say the Skylar Neese case. Murdered by her 2 best friends who were helping put up missing person signs, asking Skylar's parents if she could sit in her room because they missed her all while posting cryptic tweets allegedly to do with the murder.
Oh and he was a sexual sadist that studied film at UCLA and worked with the highly respected in Hollywood circles sadistic child rapist Roman Polanski.
Agreed. I'm having a hard time NOT thinking about it now (pretty much the first place my mind went upon waking this morning), and I wish I hadn't read it. Those poor kids :( And their families. I am glad the girlfriend aborted. And oh god, what if that ONE fingerprint hadn't been found??? Would they have ever been caught?
I dunno mate, have you looked under the bed . You know, where you keep your stash of sex toys. You know this all reminds me of a story a wise old man once told me. A youngster was walking home from the store and he found a laptop that had been open to a website. The website was named bigfoot evidence . the child couldn't help reading what people had posted online and since the child was a bad seed he had the urge to join in the trolling. While he was walking and writing down his bollocks he failed to pay attention to the traffic lights and walked into oncoming traffic . The moral of the story is that people like you need to bugger off for the good of mankind cheerio
Nobody will ever top Michael Swango in this department. NOBODY! This is the all time greatest example of the OP ever. It is not only that the guy repeatedly poisoned or ODed multiple patients at multiple hospitals in multiple cities on MULTIPLE CONTINENTS, but that he did so while exhibiting bizarre behaviors that raised red flags with nearly EVERYONE the guy ever worked with, and somehow still managed to keep his jobs or find new ones. It would be one thing if he was able to maintain a flawless facade of normality, but he WASN'T able to do that. His co-workers all thought he was extremely weird, but he seems to have had enough personal charisma to counter-act it. He's currently in lifetime solitary confinement at ADX Florence. I had some correpondence with him several years ago. The book about him, "Blind Eye", was so fascinating I HAD to write to the guy just to get a firsthand look into the thoughts of a person like that. He is exceptionally intelligent, well-read, cultured, articulate, and yet his obsession with death, danger, and social transgression is also quite evident. Truly a sad case of someone who could have accomplished exceptional things with his life if he wasn't so consumed by his compulsion to kill
I think Julio Camacho is a good example of what you are talking about. He was suspected of murdering a sixteen year old girl he impregnated (and his subsequent child.) He worked at the police department that would end up investigating the case (a month later!) You would think that he would run away from his job and hide out, but he kept working and "hiding in plain sight." It seems to have worked since he was never convicted with the crime.
Peter Manuel, "The Beast of Birkinshaw", a 50's serial killer. He raped and murdered girls in the small town of Uddingston, Scotland, before moving on to killing families in their homes. After killing the family members he lived in their house for a week, fed their cat and made sure nothing looked out of the ordinary. He was suspected by many in the community and was known for being a creep, following women at night, but nothing was ever proved. The local chief constable, Inspector Muncie tried his best to pin the crimes on Manuel, but Manuel was always a step ahead of him. Manuel would mock him, sending birthday cards to his home. He even gave a lift to a police officer who took part in the search for a girl he had murdered, telling the officer he thinks they were looking in the wrong place. He conducted his own defence and got away with a few crimes before he admitted to killing a missing teenager which ended up with him being hung. A mini series recently aired about Peter Manuel called "In Plain Sight". I live in Uddingston where he carried out the rapes and murders. My grandmothers friend was assaulted by him (which is featured in the mini series) and my grandfather actually knew him back then, and had a run in with him. My grandfather was walking along a path near a farm, a woman speed walking past told him someone was following her. The guy following her was Manuel and my grandfather told him to
Melissa Huckaby. Why did she kidnap, rape, and murder Sandra Cantu? It's such a rare crime for a woman, and she had no prior history of violence. Then this horrifying crime out of nowhere, and Huckaby's never offered any explanation why.
LeMaricus Davidson (the ringleader) was arrested hiding in an abandoned house… he had Chris' shoes on. He was convicted and sentenced to death.
His brother, Letalvis Cobbins, Letalvis' girlfriend, Vanessa Coleman, and their friend, George Thomas, all three fled the state. They were just visiting and were arrested at their home in Kentucky. At first, Vanessa was really a suspect and was considered a victim of domestic abuse… but several of Channon's things were found her possession, along with a diary, in which Vanessa described the murder weekend as a "fun adventure in the TN!"
Cobbins and Thomas were convicted and sentenced to life without parole. Vanessa Coleman got 53 years for facilitation of murder.
Eric Boyd, the fifth and final perpatrator was not charged by the state of Tennessee… but, was later indicted by a federal grand jury for accessory after the fact. He'd helped Davidson hide from police and was arranging for him to get out of the state at the time of their arrest. He recieved 18 years. LeMaricus and Letalvis said that Boyd was the one who'd raped Newsom.
The latest craze amongst footers is "dream sightings". I kid you not, and this theory is being defended by bigfoot supporters. Like the name implies, "dream sightings" are when someone goes to sleep and dreams of a vivid bigfoot encounter. When they wake, they realize they were dreaming but still believe they had an actual flesh and blood sighting. They staunchly believe that they entered a dream plane of existence, and had an actual flesh and blood encounter. They just believe it happened on a different astral plane.
I kid you not!! "dream sightings" are the latest craze and fit right in with zapping, infrashound, astral travel, portals, cloaking, phasing, etc. This is the bigfoot world folks.
For you believers, please step back and look and listen to what your fellow believers say and support. You will never find more wacky theories than in the world of bigfoot/extraterrestrials.
I think I know what's happened here. The "Squatch" has emitted a mental energy blast directly into your mind, stimulating the pleasure centers so intensely that you have gone on a nonstop ten hour bender of nothing but copying and pasting passages from violent crime sites.

Do you think I'm some cowering, shivering moral wreck that can't cope with violence in writing or something? None of this upsets me bro, and you're coming across like you've had a genuine emotional breakdown. If by referencing evidence is something that sets you off so wildly, then why do you insist that it's not there and even ask for it? Do you have capacity to know what's best for you? Why do it to yourself? I'm not being nasty now bro, but you are as rare as they come...

Editor's Note: This is a guest post by Suzie M., a sasquatch enthusiast. Crypto-linguists believe that the species known Bigfoot/Sasquatch/Yeti/Yowie ect speak and understand a complex language, which by all accounts seems to stem from Asia. When one listens to it there is definitely a sense of it being Chinese or Japanese. It is a very odd mix of sounds, clicks and what could be actual words. This is the reason some experts are looking into the Asian dialect theory, some have said it could be a lost dialect, which was carried from Asia by the Bigfoot species that colonised America.
Rumors abound on whether or not Finding Bigfoot will continue, but hopeful news is on the horizon. Snake Oil Productions, the production company responsible for Finding Bigfoot, is seeking a permit for filming in the Monterey, Virginia area. Monterey lies between the Monongahela and George Washington National Forests. Definitely a good place to look for bigfoot. We can only speculate if this means Finding Bigfoot has been signed on for additional seasons, or if perhaps a new bigfoot show is in the works. We'll keep you updated on any further announcements for sure.
This story was circulating the internet way back in 2004, or maybe as far back as 1999. Back when everybody was on 56k dial-up modems and a "Facebook" was just a regular book with directory listing of names and headshots. This story was so disturbing and so shocking that nobody believed it at the time. It was the Robert Lindsay " Bear Hunter: Two Bigfoots Shot and DNA Samples Taken " story of the time. And like Robert's Bear Hunter story , this witness didn't have a name. The only thing known about the witness is that this person was a government employee, anonymous of course. The author of the story was a science teacher named Thom Powell who believe it really happened and that the whole story was an elaborate cover-up. Powell said the anonymous government employee alerted the BFRO about a 7.5 feet long/tall burn victim with "multiple burns on hands, feet, legs and body; some 2nd and 3rd degree burns". Sadly, there was no DNA samples taken from
