    5. We have only been doing this for 8 months but for what it is worth everything we've seen is earthly, attributable to known physical laws and perfectly explainable by natural evolutionary processes.

      Those clinging to supernatural beliefs are trying to rationalize the inconceivable fact that we have become unaware of a branch of our own species coexisting next to us.

      Occasionally evolution produces a design that is wildly successful if measured by the longevity of the species. Archaics are the crocodile of primates, a machine so perfectly suited to our environment that it would undoubtedly survive cataclysms that would easily wipe us out. I find that thought comforting.
