NC Cryptid Museum Reveals Small Town’s Rising Sasquatch Activity

This is a guest article from Alex Dunbar over at bigfootbase.com, a great bigfoot site with some really good articles. If you haven't checked it out yet, I highly suggest you do.

Joining the ranks of paranormal-heavy small towns and Bigfoot bergs’ like Point Pleasant WV, Honobia OK, and Remer MN, arrives Littleton, NC. One local man in this North Carolina/Virginia border community seems to be at the nexus of the unusual activity. He has finally experienced enough oddness to actually open a commemorative cryptozoological/paranormal museum… in his own haunted house.

Years ago, Stephen Barcelo began to notice that his small border town of 674 people was a hotbed for paranormal activity. He was already privy to the calls of the esoteric as a former New York photographer/videographer. Barcelo always took passionate interest in travelling throughout the region covering witnesses of mysterious events- including Bigfoot activity. Now, it appeared, the strange came to him. And he began to collect it little by little.

Barcelo, ever the magnet for strangeness, lives in a haunted house. Built sometime in the 1850s his three-story abode on an old colonial carriage-way features spectral lights, inexplicable object movement, and a whole lot of ghostly chatter. Despite operating in just the living room, Barcelo boasts an impressive collection that paints an intriguing picture of Littleton as something of a “Twilight Zone.” His gallery features Sasquatch footprint casts and hair samples, supernatural photos from around town (and his home), haunted dolls, local lake monster evidence, and- just for fun- a jackalope & a feejee mermaid.

Barcelo has become the unofficial sage of strange in Littleton. His museum even acts as a bit of a confessional booth for Bigfoot sightings. Though he has never definitively observed the cryptid, Barcelo has found compelling tracks in the area, specifically a few miles down State Route 4 in Medoc Mountain State park. He knows that there is something ape-like roaming the wilderness, and offers his museum as a place where witnesses can speak candidly of their experience without fear of ridicule.

Luckily for Barcelo, the action seems to be ramping up. At the moment Littleton is swamped with Bigfoot-like activity. In January 2016, Barcelo responded to a call within walking distance of his museum. A woman observed a "large upright black bigfoot creature with long black hair" thrashing branches on the game trail behind her home. ¹ Though no footprints were collected, broken tree limbs eight-feet in the air were observed. In the spring of 2016, another neighbor within a few blocks reported a hairy seven-foot shadow that swished past her kitchen window. Upon investigation, Barcelo discovered a massive footprint about the size of a snowshoe. One more print for the collection. One more note to help explain poached garbage bins and strewn trash bags throughout Littleton.

Has Barcelo opened a shrine to the arcane upon the doorway to hell? Has the devil come to Littleton? Probably not, but Barcelo’s collection grows every day. Keep an eye on this sleepy town, as his museum will no doubt expand a lot further than the living room. -- AJ

    6. The only butthurt one is you, Joe. No one can doubt bigfoots existence without an agenda in your view. You refuse to accept that the evidence for bigfoot is lacking. Anyone who doubts the origin of the evidence must have some sort of agenda such as fear or dogma, etc. This works for you because it allows you, in your feeble mind, to position the doubter as an opponent that must be attacked. Without this forced adversity, you would have no purpose in life.

    5. Eh? I'm sorry, I'm cringing responding to this but here goes... Having actual repeatable scientific evidence to support cultural anecdotes is not my problem... It's yours. If a culture reports a large hairy ancient human for thousands of years, and should a modern culture do the same and be able to present physical evidence for such reports... This has no negative bearing what so ever on the matter. It in fact is what is required by the standards of science.

Please don't embarrass yourself that badly again, you're with adults now.

    11. "The Evidence is out there!!!" shouted the deranged footer, as mainstream primatologists, archaeologists, and biologists went back to working on real research while inbred neckbeards drunklenly stumble through the forests looking through bigfoot.

Here's another piece of evidence: despite all the "evidence" footers claim to have, mainstream scientists, those with experience and training, ignorce, denounce, or dismiss it. This, despite the enormous professional and personal accolades it would bring to any researcher who discovers bigfoot.

This is also strong evidence, and the burden is on footers to explain why those with the most scientific training don't take this evidence seriously.

Also, I'll give a cookie to the first footer who responds with ten hyperlinks to some fringe crypto-blog that explains the conspiracy against bigfoot research. Bring it on!

      Delete
    12. "The evidence is not there because scientists who have not studied it say it isn't."
... Great logic, Einstein. It might be news to you, but the people who are optimistic about the existence of this creature account for the very best in their respected fields.

The burden of proof falls upon the claimant; and the more extraordinary a claim, the heavier is the burden of proof demanded. Your extraordinary claim is that there is nothing to thousands of years of cultural and contemporary reports, that have physical evidence to support. If a critic asserts that there is evidence for disproof, he is making a claim and therefore also has to bear a burden of proof.

It's really odd... But while you run around angrily making allegations about the conspiracies of others, I can never get you to explain the conspiracy you adhere to? You know, the culture hopping secret society of gorilla suit wearing conspirators all out to get your money? These people, though finding each others customs undesirable, and spanning from a time when they didn't even know what an ape looked like, have in fact managed to cheat the best experts with fake biological species traits that span decades and States, in lottery win fashion too.

... Why is it so hard to get you to provide substance to such a massive conspiracy?
