Poll: Do you believe Albert Ostman's story?

In 1924 Albert Ostman claimed that he was kidnapped by a family of sasquatch. Ostman took lie detector tests, was interrogated by a magistrate renowned for making criminals crack under questioning and Ostman NEVER cracked, never goofed up his story and never made a penny from his story. On the contrarym, he was ridiculed, but the man deserves his place in history, as does Roger Patterson and to a lesser degree. Our poll question of the day: Do you believe his story?

    1. This man is bleevable

Bought a selfie stick to attach my iPhone to to hold the phone way above my head to get a better view of whatever. Tried it tonight and the video as pretty unstable. Ran around with it and the video was unviewable. So I figure if I used it while out looking for the big guy it wouldnt work. I would be shaking so bad if I encountered him or her or them that there is no chance. Good for selfies and that's it.

There are gyro stabilized rigs that will give great results. Naturally size and price and ruggedness are a concern

    2. Currently 82 percent yes. Lot of closet readers here that are quite astute.
Biggest reason it is so believable is back in the 50s he pointed out so many details about these creatures that have since been corroborated so many thousands of times. I think the old man wanted a mate for daughter and she took a liking to him.

There is absolutely NO reason for this guy to have made his story up..I believe he is telling the truth..like so many others who claim they have seen the creature..remember too, that the tribes-peoples say that this creature is real..but then I guess you`re one of those people that ascribe to the "what would they know..they`re just primitive and backwards" brigade.

  7. That whole bigfoot family aspect of Ostman's story seems like BS. And the idea that the bigfoot chattered and interacted with Ostman in a human like manner also seems like BS.

Also, that whole escape story sounds like a tall tale. From what we know about the speeds that bigfoot are capable of, the idea that Ostman could outrun the female bigfoot while the male was dealing with the swallowed tin of snuff seems hard to believe.

That's the problem with bigfoot stories. They can't be substantiated. Many of them sound like tall tales and are probably just that.

    3. 8;47... We already know that Sasquatch evading in social groups is very likely, as this would account for them evading so well. We also have what can be described as "chatter" in a published study called Manlike Monsters on Trial, by the University of Wyoming.

The getting away part is plausible if they weren't interested in eating him or keeping him in the first place. Assuming what the agenda of a creature that you seemingly don't believe in is, is not very good reasoning.

"Bigfoot stories" can in fact be substantiated by the physical and biological sign of an unknown, bipedal primate that is twice the size of recognised human primates. Let me know if you would like all this referenced at any point.

    4. We don't know jack, no body, no scat, no hair, no DNA no peer reviewed studies of this "species"behavior...

All we have is some very interesting anecdotal stories, blurry photo's/vids and some things that go bump in the night.

I'd love it if someone outed bigfoot as real but until then, all of this is just stories with ostmans being one of the best, I think Smeja's "I killed bigfoot" is right up there as well.

    5. ..The escape story is hokey, for sure...Bigfoot chewing tobaccy..lol..Good thing Osterman was not a crack head: a bigfoot jonesing for coke would be very dangerous...I also think he would have suffocated in that sleeping bag on the way to the bigfoots camp...

... And we have three whole databases of Sasquatch reports by every credible and reliable professional background you cab think of, to make educated guesses on regarding their behaviour.

What people like you would very much prefer, is a version of events where none of this data is available, because it makes your job a little easier being cynical of the topic, and easier to dismiss, when in actual fact it turns out you know pretty much next to nothing.

Your opinion is respected, but please don't come around with your "version" of the state of evidence, cause it's as far from the truth as you can comprehend.

    5. Ha ha ha ha!!

Ok buddy... I think I was pretty clear on what I was trying to communicate. I think you'll find his story very consistent with the manner in which countless others have chosen to disclose their encounters, and the reasons why innumerable others haven't; ridicule. One need not look any further than your very sentiment... Dismissing it out of hand with nothing but cynicism as a means of.

I am going to try and source you an account of someone interviewed by Dan Shirley (I believe) of someone who broke their leg out in the wilderness and passed out. When he came out of his delirium, he somehow had travelled many miles to the nearest cabin where he was then treated and taken to hospital. Now I am not for one second trying to use this as validation of such an event... But there are accounts that lend to some level of consistency.

  10. All members of our Native American (Mohawk) tribe believe in Bigfoot and KNOW they exist. Over many years, a lot of our tribal members, have had encounters, and many interactions with them. We call them: "The Woodsmen", not Bigfoot.
The "white race" is no ignorant about the interactions of Nature and animals.
We feed them all the time at our "Gifting stump" and tyhey just love to take the items we leave like marbles, Wind chimes, jewelry Bulbs etc. They in turn, leave us with their wisdom about Nature. Of course, you, "White people" will not believe anything we tell you. We never expect the "White Race" to understand us, or them.

  11. This entire incident seems to be legitimate. There is a rumor floating around in the shadows of bigfoot lure about Albert's story that mainstream media hasn't reported. Ostmen also revealed that whilst he was captive, he mated with the young teenage sasquatch and they became partners while he was in camp. After knocking the bottom out of Sassy, he did like most young spry men do, he hit the ground running and bolted out of there. You can find this account on the original story posted on this site almost three years ago.
