Matt Moneymaker Says The Florida Skunk Ape Is a Statue

Last week, The Huffington Post published a story about a Florida fisherman named John Rodriguez, who photographed a skunk ape bathing while he was fishing Dec. 26 on the Hillsborough River near northeast Tampa, Florida. We've sent Rodriguez for more details about the encounter, but have not received a response. According to witness, the skunk ape was a real animal:

"I fish for gar in the river and I bring my camera to take pictures of the birds and what not. I heard a squishing sound, looked over and saw this thing walking through the water and crouch down in the duck weed. It did not look like a guy in a suit -- it was definitely an animal. I took this picture and got out of there as fast as I could."

BFRO President Matt Moneymaker knows there are skunk apes in the area, but does not think the photographs taken by Rodriguez represents a real squatch. He's pretty sure it's was a statue he says:

Some of Moneymaker's followers agree. "Looks pretty lifeless with no spirit," one Twitter follower replied.

  5. Last I knew Eve was convinced this was real. If you don't know her, shes the one that said shed be drinking beers on the bus while skeptards drooled on each other looking for the real thing. Because she "knows" they exist. So who is in the wrong here, Bigfoot expert Matt Moneymaker, or Bigfoot Expert Eve?

  6. I don't think Rodriguez thought about people being able to zoom in on his photo and reveal it to be the obvious fake that it is.

Maybe Rodriguez was trying to get some positive attention. Instead, he unexpectedly came across as yet another bigfoot hoaxing jackass.

    1. Who zoomed in and proved it a fake?? I'm not saying it's real, but I haven't seen this proved fake? How would Moneymaker know a real BF from fake, 6 seasons of NOTHING!

    2. Whoever needs to zoom in to see it's a fake needs an intervention.

    3. Bigfoot has a more human looking nose (see Patty) not a gorilla nose. But the hoax had me at the while skunk stripe on the skunk ape. Did this dumb hoaxer think skunk ape was a hybrid between a skunk and a gorilla?

      What a dumbass!

    4. What do you mean 6 seasons of nothing? His name isn't Moneymaker for nothing. You go to work every day and he travels the world doing "squatch" calls, and probably makes way more $$ than you do.

    5. Plenty of BF reports suggest an ape like face with a hooded nose.

Things are not as clear cut as some greenbacks may think.

    2. A funny part is the hoaxer originally termed it as a skunk ape taking a bath in a swamp. Do you see that water? I'd rather wash up in a mud puddle.

    3. If skunk apes took baths they wouldn't be called skunk apes.

They'd be down at the local Tilted Kilt playing drop the dollar.
