DeleteI had to laugh this morning when the lead article on my homepage was showing these, probably an AP story or someone just as worthless and I did not play it because I will not watch a 30 second commercial for anything. Over at the Sasquatch Chronicles Steve Alcorn got this right away by same pic 24 hours apart. I guess these are Mime Squatches and just will not move until someone pays or feeds them.

You need to be able to shoot back.
If the attackers knew the citizens were armed, they would know they couldn't just walk in freely and pull a slaughter. They would know they might die first. This would in some cases prevent such shootings.
In the theatre shooting, Bill Maher actually said he never wants to be in a situation where people can defend themselves and shoot back? That goes against common sense. Self defense is common sense. Maher would then simply be a victim in the theatre, on the floor, lucky to escape with his life. He hopes no one can shoot back and defend themselves in such a situation?
Maher doesn't want you to be able to defend yourself? Why is that? He wants you to be sheep, fodder, targets? Why? Why does he make it political? It's common sense, self defense; it's not political.
You need to be able to defend yourself. How are you going to accomplish that? How against AKs? What weapon will you choose? If not a firewarm, what other weapon will be practical and effective and help to save your life and the lives of others around you?
If there is another type of weapon besides a firearm which will accomplish this, super, let's have those too. In some cases, firearms will be the only method of self defense.
In the Old West people carried firearms as a matter of course; they were required for self defense, for survival. It was normal, practical, common sense, and not political. It's not political; it's survival, self defense.
You could use rubber bullets to stun and drop an attacker, depending on situation. You could aim at first not to hit, but to warn. This at times could cause terrorist to flee. Just making the noise and shooting back, not to kill, can be enough sometimes to end the attack and cause attackers to flee.

Well there's a prominant presence of the far right in France and I would expect some reprisals, yeah. I wouldn't expect much crazy stuff going down in the UK, though it'll no doubt be the focus of much in the next few weeks. It's scary stuff when freedom of speech is attacked, and I know that other places in Europe are on high alert for more attacks.

DeleteDS @ 12:30 The snow view is from an elevated camera. The later view is a ground level at a different angle and one bush near the road is in a depression and can't be seen as well at ground level.
