Willow Creek's Bigfoot Festival Approaching
The squatchiest town on the planet, Willow Creek, California is preparing for their annual Bigfoot Days festival. August 30th-31st from 10am-5pm in downtown Willow Creek is the place to be for a bigfooter.
Willow Creek, the Bigfoot capital of the world, hosts the largest celebration of the prehistoric man-ape each Labor Day weekend. The annual event attracts visitors from all over the world to learn about this legendary creature. It was here that the term Bigfoot was coined in 1958. Nine years later, the famous Patterson-Gimlin Bigfoot film footage was shot nearby. This three-day homecoming for the hominid, which promises plenty of Bigfoot sightings, includes a parade, food & craft booths, oyster feed, BBQ, logging contests, petting zoo, kids bike race, lawn mower race, and disc golf. There's also an ice cream social with homemade pies, cakes and cobblers at the town museum, which houses the world’s largest collection of Bigfoot curios.
