Josh Gates of 'Destination Truth' Returns with All New Show 'Expedition Unknown'

A lot of fans were upset to learn that the show "Destination Truth" had been canceled. But never fear! Josh Gates is returning with an all new show called "Expedition Unknown". The show will follow Gates on various adventures around the globe as he explores various mysteries. Hmm, kind of sounds like "Destination Truth".

"Expedition Unknown" follows paranormal researcher Joshua Gates and a team of investigators as they explore strange mysteries throughout the world. On each case Gates and his team research local history, interview witnesses, conduct field investigations, and review footage for physical evidence.

Gates announced on March 27 that "Destination Truth" had officially been canceled by Syfy after five seasons. The network hasn't made a statement on why they're axing the show. Many paranormal enthusiasts consider the show to be one of the best paranormal series on television. During the hiatus of the series, Gates, the show's host and producer worked on "Stranded" which is another Syfy paranormal series. "Stranded" was subsequently canceled after only six episodes.

"'Expedition Unknown' chronicles the adventures of Joshua Gates as he investigates iconic mysteries across the globe. Gates begins by interviewing key eyewitnesses and uncovering recent developments in the story, then springboards into a fully immersive exploration. This authentic, roughshod adventure leads Gates closer to the truth behind these unanswered global enigmas," the description on Travel Channel's website reads.

So far there hasn't been an announcement as to when "Expedition Unknown" will air. The series is currently in production.

But with several interventions, support of family and my girlfriend Marie. I can proudly state that Bigfoot is no longer a part of my life.
