A Skeptical Review of Bigfoot Bounty

We've heard both sides of the bigfoot community's opinion about Spike TV's 10 Million Dollar Bigfoot Bounty, but what about the skeptics? Find out in this skeptoid.com review:

"10MBB is a competition, so of course the episode begins with introducing the ten teams vying for the prize. The contestants are a finely balanced demographic salad, just like all these sorts of reality competitions are. There’s the African-American team; the Native American team; the Two Women team; and then a spectrum of Caucasians from young to old, plain to attractive, and boring to insane, paired up either man-woman or man-man. Completely lacking seemed to be a team of trained skeptics; though one team claimed to be “highly skeptical” of Bigfoot’s existence, none are presented as filling a skeptical role on the series. Pretty much every group thinks there’s something out there to actually find."

  2. What is a 'trained skeptic'? Is this skeptoid so obsessed with skepscience that he bleeves skeptics need to be trained in Special School? Now being skeptical is not available to anyone, you must earn a degree in order to attain skepticism?

'Trained skeptic'. Think about it. It says alot about skeptoid.com

    1. Becoming a trained skeptic is a 3 week course. They must must become fluent in their main go to safety phrases by chanting: no, hoax, blob, bear, monkey suit, you scared yourself, it was an echo, and you are crazy. Then they take a full week course on skep safety. They must swear to never leave the safety of their keyboard which preferably located in their mothers basement. Going outside into the woods or heaven forbid, attending an expedition is strictly prohibited. The consequence for breaking any of these rules is a 2 year banning from JREF.

    3. If you were in the right place at the right time, by yourself in the pitch black, something BIG and black and hairy would scare the living crap out of you. If you don't go out and try to find it, you will never be in the right place at the right time. And you will miss it. Just because you wont look doesn't mean it isn't there.

And I never even called you names. :)
