A Live Woolly Mammoth From 1943? Get Out of Here!
Woolly mammoths were hunted to extinction beginning some 10,000 years ago by humans. The last known surviving mammoths in Eurasia and north America started dying out towards the end of the last ice age. Scientists believe 1700 B.C. was the last time any human could have ever seen one. However, this new footage from Siberia is putting that theory into question. If this footage is real, could it be possible that there are surviving populations in Siberia? Here's the video description:
REAL Woolly MAMMOTH (Mammuthus primigenius) sighting (Yakutsk city, Sakha Republic, Siberia 1943).
After the conclusion of the WW2 Battle of Stalingrad, Nazi Party member and official photographer for the NSDAP, Holger Hildebrand, was captured by the Red Army at the Battle of Stalingrad. He and thousands of other Wehrmacht soldiers were later sent on a death march towards Siberia; this mammoth footage is understood to have been taken during that journey. (Hildebrand is believed to have died a prisoner of war at a Soviet forced labor camp in late 1945. His Granddaughter later came into possession of the footage when his belongings were repatriated to Germany from Russia decades after his death.)

The footage is taken from episode 6 'Mammoth Journey' of the 2001 BBC documentary 'Walking With Beasts'. The hoaxer flipped the image horizontally, desaturated it, overlaid it with a few filters and cropped it fairly tightly but if you skip to 19:00 in this youtube clip you'll see the "WW2 mammoth" front and center:

DeleteThat's not a Wooly Mammoth - it's MATT MONEYMAKER WITH HIS NEW HAIRCUT !!!

ReplyDeleteI am the most and the most.....
DeleteThanks for the props man, I appreciate it.
DeleteI had no idea nazi POW's had access to video cameras.
ReplyDeleteYeah, society treats its prisoners worse and worse every decade..You can't even freaking smoke in jail anymore!...So I hear..
DeleteAmerican POW's during WWII enjoyed an extensive network of tunnels and had a listening device in Klink's office.

DeleteMaking fun of WW2 POW's and soldiers...
DeleteReal classy guys.
I never referred to war I'm talkin about the circle of the Russian blowjob service
DeleteWWII was an unjust war by the imperialistic anglo-sphere on the peaceful and defenseless German and Japanese people....Its high time USA and GB and Aussies apologize...
DeleteI was making fun of the ridiculous story behind this video. I would never make fun of POW's or soldiers. My Great Uncle became a POW after his B-17 was shot down over Holland.
DeleteDear Germany, I'm sorry that we kicked your ass (again) all the way back to Berlin after you decided to take over the rest of Europe.
DeleteSincerely,
The United States
Confirms on all points: Coned head, exceptionally long tusks and hair..
ReplyDeleteThe starting point if you want to access the backs tory(from wiki entry on Battle of Stalingrad)
Out of the nearly 110,000 German prisoners captured in Stalingrad, only about 6,000 ever returned. Already weakened by disease, starvation and lack of medical care during the encirclement, they were sent on death marches (75,000 survivors died within 3 months of capture) to prisoner camps and later to labour camps all over the Soviet Union. Some 35,000 were eventually sent on transports, of which 17,000 did not survive. Most died of wounds, disease (particularly typhus), cold, overwork, mistreatment, and malnutrition. Some were kept in the city to help rebuild. A handful of senior officers was taken to Moscow and used for propaganda purposes, and some of them joined the National Committee for a Free Germany. Some, including Paulus, signed anti-Hitler statements that were broadcast to German troops. Paulus testified for the prosecution during the Nuremberg Trials and assured families in Germany that those soldiers taken prisoner at Stalingrad were safe.[22]:p.401 He remained in the Soviet Union until 1952, then moved to Dresden in East Germany, where he spent the remainder of his days defending his actions at Stalingrad, and was quoted as saying that Communism was the best hope for postwar Europe.[22]:p.280 General Walther von Seydlitz-Kurzbach offered to raise an anti-Hitler army from the Stalingrad survivors, but the Soviets did not accept. It was not until 1955 that the last of the 5-6,000 survivors were repatriated (to West Germany) after a plea to the Politburo by Konrad Adenauer.
Too much reading.
Delete- stand-in guy
...Paulus, btw, was the field marshal that surrendered to the Soviets. It is possible this photographer received better treatment than the rank and file, but to the extent the soviets kept track of his stuff? That sounds like a reach, but I don't know much about it...
DeleteEverybody knows that the blame for Stalingrad and the failure of Operation Barbarossa in general belong to Obama.
Delete..lol..Congress must share the blame, though. He went to them to get approval to ride out the Russian winter..
DeleteHad the 'little corporal' listened to his generals, he could have smashed through Moscow in the fall and the whole thing would have collapsed, leaving him free to roll up the entire Asian continent from west to east and proceed with the invasion of the Pacific Northwest, where his jet fighter-bombers and V weapons would have made short work indeed of these alleged 'Bigfeets'.
DeleteOr he may have used them to create his super race. Half German, half Bigfoot.
DeleteIn nazi germany gas chamber smoke prisoner
DeleteI always assumed Paulus was executed by the Soviets. I really, honestly learned something here today. Thank you anon 6:22.
DeleteYou're welcome...
DeleteYou don't sound like you belong here...
ReplyDeleteThis might be a nice little opportunity to practice some crytptozoology..
DeletePeople that know any earth and\or life sciences can think about whether or not this should be dismisses a priori. Is it even possible?
Those who know their video and film look for signs of chicanery..
People who like investigating witness claims or anecdotes via research, psychology or plain old common sense and logic can think about the backstory.
This video is most likely a hoax, but I would like to learn whether or not extant wooly mammoths are even possible...
7:37. You make 2 correct points. Ask yourself a knowable question to retrieve your answer yourself. What large wooly mammal was hunted to near extinction. The Bison. When heards were re introduced into the wild the farmers and ranchers cried out that the common strain of released Bison had shown a susceptibility to Brucellosis. If a new genetic strain was not found there was a real danger of extinction or eradication. A herd of rare wood bison that were native, genetically pure and had remained hidden were located in Canada. A true "relict population". If that is possible. Then Mammoths as late as 1900s are feasible. And it makes your comment the most interesting one here. Goodnight.
DeleteThanks Mike and thanks for the example.. I didn't know anything about Bison and did a little surfing..Here are some folks who think the bison are getting a bad rap..

No it's not. That's the point numb nuts.
Delete(clive squashy)
ReplyDeleteLeft out the part where he's bumping the camera around while getting off his horse.
i would not be surprised if some woolly mammoths survived in the wilds of Siberia at least during the first part of the last century. I know that there have been reports of elephants in Nepal who resemble mammoths.
ReplyDeleteIf you ask if any still survive today - I highly doubt it but maybe soon science will be able to clone a real one with some of the blood they found in frozen mammoths.
I think its a long shot too but I'm going to look for those reports from Nepal...thanks
Deletenot exactly mammoths but still interesting http://www.ses-explore.org/news_detail.php?article=109
DeleteI would put my money on science bringing them back to life with cloning one day
Whether fake or fake, someone ate well. Woolly Mammoth: The other pink meat. It's what's for dinner!!!
ReplyDeleteHey Shawn, let me let you in on a little secret...........
ReplyDeleteEVERYTHING that comes out of Russia is FAKE. I mean, it's not as hard as you're making it out to be. When you see Russia attached to ANYTHING, it's bullshit. Got it? Damn, this isn't hard to figure out.
Hey Shawn, let me let you in on a little secret...........
DeleteEVERYTHING that comes out about Bigfoot is FAKE. I mean, it's not as hard as you're making it out to be. When you see Bigfoot attached to ANYTHING, it's bullshit. Got it? Damn, this isn't hard to figure out.
Fixed that for you.
-Joe is covered with string warts guy
Yes, the incident is claimed to have take place in Russia, but the person making the claim is apparently not from Russia...Unless you are saying the Soviets hoaxed a mammoth and mailed this person the camera. Wouldn't put it passed them..lol..
DeleteWho cares wither its fake or not, its neat looking.
ReplyDeleteTime and evidence changes opinions. People thought that modern type horses were not native to the Americas and then they found remains not to long ago that blew that assumption all to hell.
ReplyDeleteAgreed..If a giganto fossil or something like that was found in North America, everyone would have to increase whatever probability they assign to the existence of bigfoots..Well, everyone except the knowers-they are already at 100%..
DeleteThat's Bob Hieronymous in the front and Al deAsphalt in the back.
ReplyDeleteBut, but...he didn't thank us for our time.
ReplyDeleteHunted to extinction... we know this because scientists were there? Total BS.
ReplyDeleteScientists are ignoring the extinction of every other living thing from the same period including the humans that hunted the mammoths. Why? Because we all know man is to blame for every environmental calamity... at least according to liberal scientists.
The buffalo was hunted to eradicate the primary food source of Indians. A totally different situation.
The buffalo was hunted to protect the widespread unchecked use of my semen that created Sasquatches
Deletethat were !/2 human and 1/2 twerkenoids....
Thank you. I choose to accept that as fact
DeleteNo, the buffalo was slaughtered for their hides or for sport. Whites would shoot as many as they could and then leave the bodies to rot.
DeleteWOW, IT WALKS RIGHT ON TOP OF THE DEEP SIBERIAN SNOW.
ReplyDeleteA LIGHT AS A FEATHER MAGICAL WOOLY MAMMOTH, THANK YOU BE!

Deletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ShfX7_ktZX4
Nice job. Looks to me like they took some of the footage between 19:05 and 19:10 and did what you said in the your comment above...
DeleteCorrection: Mammoths lived until 4500 years ago, in Africa and Asia.
ReplyDeleteThe American Mastodon is what went extinct 10000 years ago, people have a tendency to get the two confused
Wiki has it that the last of the Mammoths lived on an island off Alaska circa 3,750 BC or 5,750 years ago...
Deleteye I read that too when checking the legitimacy of this film.if there was a chance
Deletegreat back story, sadly usual red flag back story.
what did she do keep it 4 70years
cgi,is fucking up all crpto fims,as that's what we're going to think about them all
In great US Harry say work makes shitty jokes stop
ReplyDeleteHave a good day ladies and gentlemen
I'm sure that when the Russians took German prisoners of war on a death march to Siberia, they made sure that one of the prisoners was able to carry a bulky camera of the period along with him. They could then have made sure that a record was made of prisoners being shot by the Russians on the way to Siberia as well as the occasional Mammoth that happened to be passing.
ReplyDeleteAnd they then took the time and effort to save his film and hand them back to his relatives after he died in captivity!
Sounds plausible!
They also gave them hot cocoa and cookies at night...Seriously, the officers were treated a little better and maybe this photographer was lumped in with them. Its still not very plausible, though...
DeleteThey screwed up the gait. Initially, the subject has both left feet completely off of the ground simultaneously. Yet the subject is not falling over. This would be a physical impossibility.
ReplyDeleteHELL! Don't you think that all of those soldiers and prisoners were probably starving to death! To hell with shooting it on film they would of shot the shit out of it with there weapons and had one hell of a Mammoth BBQ! Where's the ketchup?
ReplyDeleteHey my piece has a hair in it! Where the hell is the manager of this joint!
Hey MK is there a braid on this mammoth?
ReplyDeletenot only that its has haemorrhoids. im not one to sensationalize films but there is a pool of blood.
