Find out why so many millions of Americans are obsessed with this mysterious man-ape, and see what you are legally allowed to do if you encounter Bigfoot.
Perhaps the bigger mystery is trying to fathom why any 'non-believer' would waste so much time and effort on a subject that is 'such a load of nonsense'?
I'm frankly baffled.
Just waiting on the Village idiot to kick off about the PGF footage that he's 'sure' is fake...
Well 4:17, the mystery of bigfoot is not so cut and dried. There is enough evidence to have led some people to stake their professional reputation on the possibility that sasquatch may actually exist.
People like Dr. Krantz, Dr. Meldrum, Jimmy Chilcutt etc. examined the evidence and concluded that, rather than dismissing bigfoot, the evidence pointed to the likelihood that bigfoot exists.
Yes, there is a lot of idiocy and hoaxing (a lot) in the bigfoot world. This only distracts from the serious nature to which some approach the subject.
I can only suggest that you keep an open mind and try to sift through all of the nuttiness and lunacy associated with bigfoot and try to look past all that.
It really is an interesting topic. Personally, I am on the fence. I like to think that there is something to the bigfoot mystery, and I hope to see a specimen one day. Until then, I just enjoy the mystery in spite of all of the idiocy and hoaxing.
I Think the reason that a lot of people do not believe in Sasquatch is simply because they haven't heard PJ or MMG speak on the subject. If you guys could just team up and go on live television and plead your case to the world, the book would finally be closed on this subject. Hell, I'd even watch it on Pay per view. You guys are the absolute smartest people "YOU" know. So, please, share that knowledge with the rest of the world in a larger arena than a Bigfoot blog. You will have a much greater opportunity to berate your audience when they don't adhere to your beliefs. People love to be laughed and called stupid for being rational thinkers and you guys obviously get off on that. So, whatcha say, fellas? The world will welcome you with open arms, I promise.
I read something online related to the PGF that I find hard to believe. I read that, when he was touring and giving presentations about his footage, Roger Patterson had someone else stand in for Bob Gimlin during his presentations. In other words, Patterson had a fake Gimlin playing the role of the real Bob Gimlin.
This is a BS urban legend story, right? This didn't actually happen, right?
It goes back to the original script: A wise Indian tracker helps a group of cowboys find bigfoot..Roger could not get this off the ground and(leaving judgements aside)he and Gimlin went off to Bluff Creek and filmed Patty..lol(sorry, couldn't help it)..Anyhoo, a short documentary was created to show with the PGF in theaters and halls and Roger hosted the events and told his story..This story had an element from the original script: An Indian tracker helped him find Patty-that tracker of course was Gimlin who is part Indian..For what ever reason Gimlin was not part of the tour and they got a guy to make believe they were him....
The doc is still around...Mike Rugg has a copy and wanted to release it, but ran into copyright issues. He did show it last year at an event at his museum...
Copyright my foot. It probably had content that made it obvious that Patterson was a yahoo and that the whole PGF is a crock. Rugg probably doesn't want it to get out because it would show the world that Roger Patterson and his bigfoot are a sham. It would probably end Rugg's museum business and derail the gravy train for the many others who make money with bigfoot.
10:06-Bill Munns said Al DeAtley himself appears in it pretending to be some kind of real footer. There is also a short casting scene which may or may not come from the missing 2nd reel. Look, its just a short, low budget "Introduction to Bigfoot" type of deal meant to kill time..They would show that, Roger would take the stage and then the 1 minute PGF was shown..Roger, with or without the fake Bob, would answer some questions. They did well in the PNW for a few months but failed on the East Coast, and that was the end of the so-called "barn-storming" tour...
The PGF was leased a few times in the 70's-"In Search of Bigfoot", probably another doc or two, and was shown in the beginning of the fictional film "Sasquatch Legend of Bigfoot"...
MMG makes a good point, but also remember Gimlin sued Mrs. Patterson so it is possible he thought he could profit from the footage and therefore had incentive to keep quiet..
MMG has been spotted slumming over at Lindsay's blog. First I thought it was a comment in the "Why I'd Like to Hang All Hindus From a Phone Tree" post, but it was just the weekly BF update, where RL just posted that Edmund Hillary is about to mount an expedition to Mt. Everest.
This story was circulating the internet way back in 2004, or maybe as far back as 1999. Back when everybody was on 56k dial-up modems and a "Facebook" was just a regular book with directory listing of names and headshots. This story was so disturbing and so shocking that nobody believed it at the time. It was the Robert Lindsay " Bear Hunter: Two Bigfoots Shot and DNA Samples Taken " story of the time. And like Robert's Bear Hunter story , this witness didn't have a name. The only thing known about the witness is that this person was a government employee, anonymous of course. The author of the story was a science teacher named Thom Powell who believe it really happened and that the whole story was an elaborate cover-up. Powell said the anonymous government employee alerted the BFRO about a 7.5 feet long/tall burn victim with "multiple burns on hands, feet, legs and body; some 2nd and 3rd degree burns". Sadly, there was no DNA samples taken from...
Rumors abound on whether or not Finding Bigfoot will continue, but hopeful news is on the horizon. Snake Oil Productions, the production company responsible for Finding Bigfoot, is seeking a permit for filming in the Monterey, Virginia area. Monterey lies between the Monongahela and George Washington National Forests. Definitely a good place to look for bigfoot. We can only speculate if this means Finding Bigfoot has been signed on for additional seasons, or if perhaps a new bigfoot show is in the works. We'll keep you updated on any further announcements for sure.
Editor's Note: This is a guest post by Suzie M., a sasquatch enthusiast. Crypto-linguists believe that the species known Bigfoot/Sasquatch/Yeti/Yowie ect speak and understand a complex language, which by all accounts seems to stem from Asia. When one listens to it there is definitely a sense of it being Chinese or Japanese. It is a very odd mix of sounds, clicks and what could be actual words. This is the reason some experts are looking into the Asian dialect theory, some have said it could be a lost dialect, which was carried from Asia by the Bigfoot species that colonised America.

Left?
DeleteSo, it's true? Come on. No way.
DeleteIt happened. Another hurdle the bleevers have to ignore.
DeleteHieronimos looked good in the Gimlin suit, except when his pendulous breasts hung out of the front pockets.
DeleteAl DeAsphalt paved over Gimlin after stripping off his skin to hang in his office. Bob H wears it during Footer conventions and on Halloween.
DeleteNot true. Bill Munns tried to recreate the Gimlin suit and all he could manage was Albert Ostman.
DeleteThere was a stand in Gimlin for a while.
DeleteIf there was an opportunity for Gimlin to shout hoax that was it. He didn't.
He maintains the same, consistent story as he always has done for the last 50 years.
Patterson was no angel but he still has the average sceptic squirming after all these years.
MMG
Why would Patterson need a fake Gimlin?
DeleteWhy would having a stand in Gimlin mean the footage is a hoax?
DeletePeace.
The fact that Patterson used a fake Gimlin just seems odd.
DeleteWhy would he need a Gimlin stand in? Who would do such a thing?
"Hello ladies and gentleman. Let me introduce you to Bob Gimlin (when it's not him)..."
That seems shady. There seems to be a good deal of questionable stuff regarding Roger Patterson.
Whilst the 'tour' was going on Gimlin was at home in Yakima tarring roofs for low wages.
DeleteDespite being screwed by Patterson, Gimlin didn't call hoax. It would have been so easy for him to pull the plug on Patterson back then.
He couldn't because he wasn't involved in a hoax scenario.
MMG

DeleteReally? I never heard that story. Where is this documentary film that Patterson showed in theaters and halls? Does a copy of it still exist?
DeleteSo, Patterson's presentation was part film and part skit? A skit complete with "Bob Gimlin" as an Indian tracker?
The doc is still around...Mike Rugg has a copy and wanted to release it, but ran into copyright issues. He did show it last year at an event at his museum...
DeleteMaybe someone who was at the museum and saw it can comment on the contents. I'd be interested in what Patterson's additional film contained.
DeleteCopyright my foot. It probably had content that made it obvious that Patterson was a yahoo and that the whole PGF is a crock. DeleteOnce again a belief system based on imagination and idle speculation.
DeleteThought sceptics dealt in facts?
As Parnassus used to say there is no one element of the PGF that points to a hoax....
MMG
LOL. That's funny MMG. As if the whole bigfoot world isn't rife with imagination and idle speculation
