This Story Proves That Bigfoots Are Just As Crazy For Gold As Humans
Bigfoot Terrifies Mining Camp, is the title of story from from author D.L.Soucy. In the 1920s, there were many stories of "Wildmen" attack on miners, notably the Ape Canyon attack. In this video, Soucy takes a article from an old newspaper about an event that happened around the same time period as Ape Canyon, but this happened 1,100 miles southeast, in Naturita, Colorado. The Bigfoots in this small mining town were naked, covered in hair (of course) and threw rocks at miners -- which is pretty typical of these miners' stories.
The Wildman of Naturita
This article, from a 1922 newspaper tells of the presence of a wild man in the western portions of Colorado, in the vicinity of a small mining town, Naturita, and the greater Disappointment Valley region.
Said to have been covered with hair, went about naked, eating raw meat and able to lope about on all fours, this creature fits many of the descriptive terms we find in the research of Bigfoot sightings today. There are other points of the story as well that seem to blend in with today's Bigfoot search as well, such as its ability to throw rocks.
Was it a man or a beast? From its beastly eyes to its hair covered feet, I can see where this may have been a Bigfoot, but we'll never know. I could find no further reference to its capture, if it even was captured.

(It seems strange to me that an entire camp of hardened miners would be afraid of it, if it was just a man, though.)

I wrote my thesis for my womyn's studies class on the Patterson film. I didn't get a very good grade, because my teacher didn't believe in Bigfoot, but that hasn't stopped me from getting hired by the Obama administration to help implement feminist policy nationwide.

DeleteI'm desperately trying to not come across male chauvinistic, but if the average enthusiast was to apply their imagination to your theory for a minute, it would make sense for the young to be mentored as soon as possible in things like evasion, hunting, etc, by the males who are reported much bigger in height and therefore more domineering to the environment? I am not stating that the female Sasquatch would be any worse at these areas, the protection from a bigger individual is what I'm getting at.

Many species live in matriarchal societies. Just look at lions, the womyn do all the hunting and child rearing, and also teach the young, and the men just sit around and eat.
DeleteBigfoots are smarter than lions (but equal), and they have recognized the domineering tendencies of men, and try to mitigate that by making the men raise the children. Of course, LGBT Bigfoots, as well of Bigfoots of color have their places in society as well, but only womyn can arrange a just society. It's how the Mother Goddess intended us all to live.

DeleteBigfoots range in color from albino white to black. If you're familiar with Professor Leonard Jeffries and his work on "Sun People" and "Ice People", you will learn that the lighter skin peoples are cruel and domineering and the darker skin people are friendly and lovable. This applies in the Bigfoot world as well. The white Bigfoots are always trying to control everything, and thus, have been safely regulated to the lowest tiers of their society. Especially the white males. This is done through communal reassignment of property according to which groups are in most need. I can explain more of this if you wish, but it's pretty involved.
LGTB species are found all through nature, and I don't think this needs much explaining, but I'll put a quick word in. Sex is the physical body you are born with, and gender is what you identify as. A species sex and gender don;t need to necessarily match. This has always angered Ice People, and they have a long history of killing and raping everything.
I actually met Obama once. He came to one of our morning pep rallies and listened to our motivation speaker. After she finished, he shouted FORWARD SOVIET!
We all chanted that a few times. I'm not really sure what soviet means, but it must be good, because Obama cares about little Trayvon.

DeleteI only look for Bigfoots with my coven on weekends and the solstice. We are an all female group and males are not welcome. We are confident we will find Bigfoot this year, I'm teamed up with Maiden Moonflower and we're the best paddlers. I really think we can make it across the lake soon, but it hurts my shoulder after awhile.

ReplyDeleteCyndi. Please watch National Geographic's "Lions and Hyenas, eternal enemies". In it a pack of hyenas led by a true matriarch attack and surround a lioness and her female cubs and kin. They begin to slowly kill them. It is only then that the Large Dominant Male appears and rather than sitting around waiting for a meal he identifies and kills the alpha female hyena thereby averting the attack and saves the entire pride in the process. Large Males not only protect the pride and its valuable dwindling habitat they also risk their own lives to bring down large prey species like buffalo or giraffe when the pride would otherwise starve. I suspect Male BIGFOOTs serve much the same function as they compete with Grizzly Bears in the northern climate and Elk and Moose and Caribou are no easy prey. But what do I know. I'm just sitting around waiting on a pizza. :)
ReplyDeleteI will try and watch it but I can't believe it could happen. I haven't read anything like that in Starhawk's books on Eco-Feminism. Most likely the male lion was just trying to rape the female hyenas, or maybe trying to kill them because they wouldn't confirm to his patriarchal gender assignments.
