Here's The Difference Between Field Research And Squatchin'

In this video David Batdorf gives his opinion on the difference between ACTUAL field research and the typical "Sasquatch Researcher". He writes: "I know there are some out there who may already be taking a serious/professional approach to surveying and cataloging an area... but this is not the common practice in this field." Watch the video to see what he means by this:

Bigfoot field research will offer you nothing and you'll like it.

  2. This guy seems to make a lot of sense until you realize he's talking about finding an 8ft 600lb magic monkey.

  3. I gave up on research and just squatch now. It's more fun and no one expects anything of me.

    2. And exactly what, pray tell, did this 'research' consist of? Howls, knocks, or herding stupid canines to the vicinity of power lines?

    3. The research consisted in demonstrating plenty of nothing and you liked it.

  4. And what exactly are we supposed to do with a stack of notebooks, filled with field notes? Make a campfire out of them? Write another book that no one wants to pay for? I can't make a DVD out of them because who wants to watch a DVD where some researcher pages through his field notes. The BFRO isn't interested either, because there is nothing in it for them. Inquiring minds want to know.

  5. You can do all the field research you want but in the end it wont matter until some stupid redneck shoots one and has the body on display, THEN your research may be deemed valuable. Its unfortunate, but true.

  6. Researchers are well-intentioned but they're never going to prove anything.
Squatchers are hobbyists, like birders. They're harmless.
Its the Bigfoot hunters who are putting in the real effort to establish the existence of Bigfoot. If anyone ever does prove it, it'll most probably be one of them.

  7. I watched an episode of Finding Bigfoot once. Now I'm a expert bigfoot researcher.

  8. Nice video. To me, it's like drivers coming up on a scene of an accident once they get through the traffic jam - Researchers are the type who don't pause because they know their tap of the brakes will cause further delays a mile back. Squatchers rubberneck because it's all about them.
