Michael Merchant: Steve Kulls nails "Ketchum Christ" to the Cross!
In this video Michael Merchants talks about Steve Kulls' latest post on the Ketchum debacle. Since the release of the Ketchum Bigfoot DNA paper, it's safe to say that Kulls is no longer a supporter. He writes in his blog: "Make no mistake, it has failed, as it missed the mark in being published in an established scientific journal with peer review with some degree of scientific acceptance."

Tabloid Garbage. Include Kulls in it along with Merchant! This site is getting worse everyday! I almost wonder if this site is trying to cause trouble and make modern day witch hunts! This reminds me of Congress! We need to unite researchers not divide them! Of course they do that on their own, but this crap needs to STOP! Kulls, Merchant, Fasano, Lindsay, Nadia, Shawn, and you all know who ( others) - stop the friggen bickering and work together on species recognition! I do too much hard work in this Bigfoot field just to have you guys destroy it! It's tough enough with the trolls , but to battle egos and stubborn people is something else. The species is there and those who work in this field know it! So let's work together like reasonable adults. We can disagree on stuff, but the cut downs and accusations are doing us and the field absolutely nothing!

Instead, analyses either come back as 100% human, or fail in ways that suggest technical artifacts. They make the bizarre claim that the failures might be caused by novel, nonstandard structure of the DNA (“Electron micrographs of the DNA revealed unusual double strand – single strand – double strand transitions which may have contributed to the failure to amplify during PCR.”) which would mean this DNA was different from DNA in all other known species. I would not be surprised if that is the case. I just want to see the data, though I couldn't analyze it. So I should say I want to see what the rest of the genetics experts say about it. It seems to me (from the outside) that she had hairs that were clearly not human, or anything known, that had dna that has mtDNA that is human and nuDNA that is not. The more genetic analysts involved, the better. She would have been better off just self publishing, then letting the same thing happen, avoiding all the hoopla. The way I see it, she made the honest mistake that she could get a journal to publish, even if it passed peer review, which was not likely given the risk the journal would be taking. The main acceptance factor is getting the top experts in the field to go over the data and render their opinion. Doesn't matter how it gets done. General rule in life is "don't give people a stick to beat you over the head with". Now, the experts can render their opinion, acting as neutral players without risking their reputations. If the data is good, despite the mistakes in the presentation, we "footers" can finally look forward to finding out much more at a faster rate. We're all so curious about this "phenomenon" we're like kids in a candy store. It's the biggest mystery on the planet right now, and we're the species with the most curiosity. To me, it's simple: all those witnesses can't be lying. Forgive me skeptics for having so much curiosity. I forgive you for not wanting to "believe". We're all good people, it's a fun subject.
True, if the data's good it should be enough. Of course many of those mainstream heads looking at it now will do their best to find faults with it though there aren't any, if you find faults we know you've been bought.
