Did Justin Smeja strangle the dying juvenile Bigfoot?
This YouTuber, who claims to be an avid hunter seems to think so. He says that Justin Smeja likely strangled the juvenile Bigfoot to put it out of its misery after he shot it in the neck. Possibly in a compassion and merciful act of guilt. We asked Justin about this and he declined to comment.

ReplyDeleteA neck shot is hands down the deadliest shot one can make. Not too many people realize this. I don't think Justin considered putting the young Bf out of his misery, because if he was shot in the neck it wasn't needed. By all accounts, Justin is an experienced enough hunter that I think he would have realized this. It was only a matter of (very short) time before the creature died. I don't really think Justin had the time to think about "helping" the creature along. It's pretty uncommon to need additional measures after a neck shot. Not saying it couldn't happen, but the odds are against it. The neck shot is a quicker kill than a heart/lung shot and easier to make than a brain or spine shot. The reason hunters usually go for the heart/lung shot is because it is a bigger target than the neck shot. On the same token, a lot of sportsmen would take a neck shot if that was the chance for the quickest, cleanest kill.
