The most elusive element of all... [Bigfoot DNA]

One of the most frustrating things the bigfoot community has to deal with today is the eternal promise of DNA evidence.

I don't know about you but I am sick to death of waiting, so I formulated my own theory while writing a book. Will the results, IF we ever get them, mean anything to any of us?? There are so many rumors flying around, it's next to impossible to keep up with all of it. And the supposed "leaks" really just appear to be a couple of persons culminating theories or rumors from the various sites and putting them into some post, forum, blog or anonymous blurb. Personally, I don't doubt there is DNA but the secrecy, confirmed by Richard Stubstad in his last interview done with Ro Sahebi, overshadows any of the science. It really seems to be about the prestige more than anything else and if the supposed DNA comes back as anything close to Homo Sapiens, there will most certainly be a gigantic can of worms tossed out into the community, each wriggling its way to some new hypothesis or conversely, struck down and chopped to pieces to be used as more fodder for the already battered faithful. The skeptics will have the proverbial hay-day of their dreams.

"One of the most unsettling stories was that of an elderly wilderness guide from Canada who’d claimed he’d shot a young female a few years back—said she acted threatening towards him—which ultimately contributed to the initial DNA project and all its problems. The scientist who’d led the initial DNA crusade became hostile and petulant over the never ending challenges from long time researchers, taunting the community with grandiose claims of personal interactions and his very own crystal clear video and images. There were other studies—one conducted by a prestigious university under big names in the science world—which had inconclusive results. But the main argument within the scientific community was that the nuclear DNA evidence could not be found in the fossil record—the unknown relict hominid—therefore it was only statistical: pointing to a new species without a type specimen. Not that there weren’t persons attempting to obtain that type specimen intentionally; which brought the “kill versus no kill” argument to front and center. It was a brutal and exhausting arena."
