Forestry Technicians Don’t Lie, Here’s One Example

The Yakima Herald is currently running feature length articles about Bigfoot and witnesses in the Yakima area. We've been following a few stories from their articles and the witnesses from their interviews all sound very convincing. Here's one that we think is a very compelling interview.

In 2007 Mel Skahan, a forestry technician and Yakima Nation member, was driving out with a partner to perform timber measurements in the forest when his partner saw something on his side of the truck. Mel described the creature as humanlike, black, lean, and running away on two legs with motion in its arms.

Two days later they returned to the point where he had lost sight of the creature, a steep area of around 70-80% slope and they found slide marks going down the hill. Mel decided to follow the slide marks while his partner stayed at the top. The slide marks went on for a distance but he decided to return to his partner. As he started back up the hill, he saw his partner come running towards him with a large soccer ball sized rock following close behind. His partner said that he had heard two grunts and saw the arc of the rock being thrown.

  2. I wish the BFRO had video testimony of witnesses to some of the better sightings. It sure helps.

This guy doesn't look like he's lying.

Interesting that it looked lean - there's lots of food up there.

  3. Sally here: Turns out our data was a little bit off. Mr. Skahannis INDEED a sasquatch, but suffers from a disease attacking hair growth. More info will be given on this shortly.

  7. The guy in the interview seems very genuine with his account of what happened.
I agree with Anon at 4:13 that video interviews help in judging the veracity of the witness.

    1. He seems genuine? Well I guess that proves it then. No sense “trolling” this website anymore. Bigfoot has been “proved” by that “witness’s” sincerity. I guess we will have to give up our beliefs in the scientific study of the nature of living things and embrace this new sincerity based belief system.

    2. Wow, you got all of that from what I said, simply amazing.
Did I say it "proved" anything? No.
I have a box of Schutcher's Pieholes left if you'd like them.

    3. Apparently you are unfamiliar with reductio ad absurdum as an argumentative technique. Let me explain. You insinuated that this testimony had value. To illustrate that you are wrong I sarcastically suggested that his testimony had tremendous value.

      Delete
    4. I implied the testimony had value to me. It's up to other people to decide whether or not the testimony has merit.
I was wrong? So you are implying that your opinion is correct and my opinion is incorrect. You provide a very weak argument, if any at all.
That was sarcasm? Perhaps you need more practice on a beginner's blog.

  8. Interesting to note that several tribal elders have reportedly shunned him for looking into BF. Must be a big no no.

Found a 2006 interview on BF Encounters.

  9. I wonder since Gimlin is also from the Yakima area if the two of them have met and exchanged stories. Also wonder if what Mel thinks of PG film if it resembles what he saw. J.D.

    1. It’s not who Sally is that matters. It's that she actually got upset that someone is impersonating her on this website. That's what makes it funny.

I'm talking about a court of law - not a simple walk thru customs.

    5. Anon 10:11, I was thinking the same thing, whackos abound on cryptic blog sites!

  15. He seems convincing, but I'm not sure I buy his story for one reason. I can't see a guy that big trying to traverse down a 70-80% grade of what sounds like loose rock with any hopes of making it back up.

Maybe Sally can give her opinion on whether it seems plausible. That doughnut eating, mouth breather Timmy should chime in too.

  20. Just happened upon your forum. I recollect those two days very clearly. If it weren't for my coworker spotting it, i would not have known it was there.
We were on the rock tallus slope when he rolled the rocks down. Below the tallus slope was soil. The whole hillside wasnt rock. The other reason this sticks with me is because my coworker is no longer with us.
Before his passing had shared his stories with me. Miss him dearly.
I try to avoid forums because of the attacks on people who like me get slammed because of us trying to share our experiences.

    Thankyou for your time

  21. Yes i live in the Yakima area. My family has known Mr. Gimlin since he was a young man. He helped and rode horses with my great grandfather.
The subject spotted that day was nowhere near the size of Patty. And was extemely fast. On both days to witness the stride and flawless effort of moving thru logging debris on flat ground. And on day two to see it's stride and slide movement in the tracks it left... circle back around above my friend and then as we walked out of there, to see a clearer print as it used a gametrail to, exit away from us.

And i have been working in my field since 1987. Have participated in wildland fire activities and climbed many a mountains. For someone to judge me by my size is ridiculous, when you know nothing about me. I have to maintain a level of fitness to continue in my line of work.
As i said in the other post ... dont like forums where people attack others. And when they use Anonymous as a handle to hide behind.
