Tree peekers, chatter, talking to underground Bigfoots (gophers?), all while none of it appears to have anything to do with Bigfoot in the video. I think it is clear... this is how the imagination qualifies and conditions experience.
Shawn Evidence: I feel nauseous, irritable and weak after watching that.

ReplyDeleteLet me just say, Thom is a very nice guy, and I've met him in person and talked to him at some length. He help us in a number of ways when we were doing our Bluff Creek PGF research. This stuff in the video above, however, strikes me as wholly unbelievable. I hear some noises, but is there any evidence at all that they are coming from a Bigfoot living underground? It seems the only evidence is the confirmation bias in the observers' minds.

When you got together with folk to go hiking, spelunking, seminars, or a like interest, the people who showed up did so because they liked the activity or discussion. It was rare to have jerks present because you had to make an *effort* to be there - people rarely did things they had no interest in unless dragged there by a friend/lover/spouse. The longer the web is up, the more I long for a really big solar flare to knock it down. Occasional bad behavior, eh, OK. But rude behavior every day everywhere (not just here) gets old.
If you came into a meeting in-person and pulled this crap, you would be tossed out on yer a$$. I'd like to see that.

OK, my grouchiness aside, I just watched 3 minutes of this video. W...T...F... I don't remember this many flakes before the internet either. No wait... that was the 80s, 70s, and 60s. Oh damn. Just like the general population, not everyone here is nuts. But it might help.
